14 Fourteen

After about half an hour of driving, the limo pulled into the driveway of a luxurious house, "This place is pretty big." Said Christa, slightly shocked by the size of it.

"It's really nothing compared to the other places I go to." Responded Bella, "This is just going to be a smaller event, with 20 or so people."

Christa stared at her blankly, she couldn't believe that the mansion in front of them was part of a 'smaller event', "What kind of people are gonna be there?"

"No one super famous. Just a few models, maybe a couple actors/actresses. I don't know who else." She seemed quite bored by the whole thing.

"Ya know what?" Said Christa suddenly.

"What?"

"I'm terrified." She shivered and Bella smiled.

"You can hide behind me if you want." Giggled Bella just as the car doors swung open.

"I think I may take you up on that offer." Responded Christa shyly. She grabbed hold of Bella's hand and trailed behind her up a few steps and into the building. The interior was elegantly decorated with multiple large chandeliers and a few small tables. Christa looked around the room, and saw several faces that she recognized from tv and magazines. She walked closer to Bella, once she realized that several eyes were on her.

"It's not that big a deal," she wrapped one arm around Christa to pull her a little closer, "do you wanna just go sit at our table?" Christa nodded, and they walked over to one of the farther tables, and sat down next to each other, "I wish you were like this at home." Bella said. Christa had been leaning on her to try and hide from the people staring at them.

She blushed and began, "Well, it's different here, I'm using you as protection." She paused as Bella began to lean back on her, "What're you doing?" Whispered Christa, trying not to attract attention.

"Well, we have to act like we're together." She stroked Christa's arm softly. Christa didn't move away, but she flinched and looked down to avoid Bella's gaze, "Oh, c'mon, you can act more convincing than that!" Came Bella's voice playfully.

"I'm trying but it doesn't help that you're putting so much pressure on me, an-" She kissed Christa's forehead gently. Christa turned redder, but this time, looked at Bella. Her prideful hazel eyes looked down at her. She smiled, and brushed away a strand of Christa's hair.

"You can act awfully cute when you're not even trying, you know that?" She grinned, and was met by a stern, yet embarrassed look from Christa.

"Gosh you don't need to say it like that!" Responded Christa playfully.

"But it's funnier when I do." She admitted.

A man's voice came from nearby, "Dinner will be served promptly, please take your seats!" Everyone who had been standing and chatting began to walk over to whichever table they had been assigned to, and that's when Christa realized that other people would be joining them soon. She looked over at the three people making their way over, and she hoped that Bella could take over and help keep their story going.
