Making Friends? & Buying Gifts

"No, I don't wanna, Hmph." Says the cheeky brat before me.

"Uuuu…." Hearing that YunYun starts to get all teary eyed and begins to cry a bit.

"Oi! Chibi! Isn't that a bit harsh?" I say getting all mad at her not wanting to even try to be YunYun's friend.

"Chibi?! Kukuku…." She says menacingly before she strikes a pose.

"I am Megumin of the Crimson Demon Clan! And I plan on becoming a great ArchMage when I grow up!" She said while looking at us with sparkling eyes.

"Now you guys too! You can't just come up to someone and just say let's be friends! You have to introduce yourselves!" She says with a cheeky smile on her face, 5 year old Megumin looks nothing like how she looks when she older, short brown hair, red eyes, pale skin wearing a red oversized hoodie with matching skirt and black boots.

"… Niichan I don't want to do the clan introduction…. It's embarrassing…" YunYun says quietly to me.

"I know, but we have to do it alright? I'll go first so you can go after ok?" I say as I pat her before turning to face the smug Megumin.

I take a deep breath before doing a pose while putting my hand on my face while only revealing my left eye before summoning my sword and sweeping it before me, "I am Ryuuken of the Crimson Demon Clan! Son to the Village Chief Hiropon! And when I grow up I want to be a cool Magic Swordsman! Being the first of our clan in the past 5 generations!" I shout before sweeping my sword downwards in cool pose.

There were stars in Megumin's eyes when she saw what I did, "Whoooa! That's sooo cool!" She said as she comes over and looks at my sword.

I rub my finger under my nose with a smirk, "Hehe! And this isn't even my swords final form! It maybe a wooden sword right now, but when I'm older and stronger I'll be able to summon the real sword with all its glory!" I say as I hold my sword up as I can faintly see the shadow of Durandal in my hands.

"It even changes forms! That's even cooler!" She says all excited like as she wants to see what it looks like in its true form as well.

But after letting it be looked at for a bit I realize that I haven't let YunYun do her introductions so I make it disappear to Megumins dismay before I went and pushed the rather nervous and shy YunYun forward to introduce herself.

"I-I am YunYun!" She says nervously before she strikes a pose as well, "Daughter of the Village Chief, Hiropon! Younger sister to Ryuuken! And I plan to be the greatest ArchMage to exist in the Crimson Demon Clan!" She says as she forces her way through saying that embarrassing introduction.

I just pat her head, "You did good YunYun." But as soon as I finish saying that I see Megumin puffing out her cheeks with a pout.

"Hmph! I'm gonna be the greatest ArchMage our clan has ever seen! Not you!" She says as she points her finger at YunYun.

But YunYun stomps her foot in protest, "No I am! I'm the next village chief, so I have to be the greatest ArchMage of our generation!"

Though after hearing that Megumin gets even more mad and grabs at YunYun's cheeks, but YunYun does it right back at her.

Seeing them go at it made me smile, "Ahh you guys are acting like friends already!" But they're both pulling on each other's cheeks as they roll around in the dirt before they both look up at me.

"We're not friends!" They both shout out before Megumin and YunYun separated from each other.

"We are Rivals!" They both shout out as they point at each other.

I just shake my head before putting my hand on their hands and rubbing their hair, "Yare Yare, even if you say that I'll help you pick out the gift even, plus there'll be cake there too"

"Cake!" They both say excitedly, even though I was talking to Megumin.

She backs away before coughing into her hand, "Well… even if we are rivals, I guess I should be nice to come celebrate your birthday, but you have to come celebrate my birthday come December!" She declared which I nodded ok to while YunYun crossed her arms before looking away.

"Well I think we should go, I'll come see you tomorrow Megumin." I said with a smile as I waved goodbye as both me and YunYun headed home.

"Bye Ryuuken! See you later…. And YunYun."

"Hmph!"

"Yare Yare."

The next day I left YunYun at home to play with her toys while I went out to find Megumin at her house around the outskirts of the village.

I found Megumin playing outside her house on a rope swing on the tree by her house.

"Megumin!" I called out to her which when she heard me she smiled as she jumped off from the swing and headed over to me.

"Ryuuken! Wanna play?"

"Sure, but after we go get YunYun's gifts okay?"

"Well… Alright…" she says reluctantly.

"How about I get you a late birthday present for last year to make up for not being friends sooner okay?" I say as I pat her head, but she brushes it off.

"Stop treating me like a little kid!…. But I would like that gift thank you very much…" she says bashfully which I just grin at before I take her hand and lead her towards the Village Market where traders come into town once or twice a week to bring in items from around the kingdom.

Though unknowingly behind us as we walked away from her house hand in hand, Megumins father was being choked out by her mother who had a beautiful smile on her face.

"Ahh youth."

"Bastard! I'll-" but he was choked once more by his wife.

"Let them be dear, after all he is Megumins first friend!…. Though if he does anything to make her cry I'll let you chase him down Kay?"

"…. Hmph!" He says before crossing his arms and resting his head on her lap as she gently brushed his hair.

At the marketplace there were a lot of things to get, plus things to get for children even weapons and staffs, you name it, it was probably there except for extremely rare things though.

While we were walking around the bizarre Megumin nudged me before pointing over to a stall with a lot of toys there.

"Hey, hey, Ryuu! Look over here!"

"Yes, yes, I'm Ryuu, what? Oh, maybe she would like a new toy this year." I say as I follow her to the stall that has a lot of plushies on it, which were the usual bunny's, teddy bears, but then there was one based on the flying cabbages and even rookie killers which was weird, but what isn't in this village?

"Ryuu! These look cool! Look!" She says showing me these penguin plushies but instead of feet they have stilts for legs and she was holding a red and black one, each holding a comical sized bomb.

*Aren't those Prinny's? Who the hell was able to- oh wait, a lot of people get reincarnated in this world after all, it's not impossible for them to be in this world I guess.* I think to myself.

"You want one of them Megumin?"

"Can I?"

"Of course you can! Plus if I get the other one for YunYun it'll be like you two share a pair."

"…. Hmph! Well fine then I'll have one too, but don't tell her about it alright."

"Alright Tsundere I won't tell her about it." I say as I take them both to the owner.

"Who are you calling Tsundere!" She shouts but I ignore her to buy the Black and Red Prinnys.

"How much for these two?" I say putting them in front of the owner.

"100 Eris."

(A/N after a billion years I've come back to this chapter to change the currency to the right kind, there! You happy now?!?!)

"How cheap (expensive)" we both say together, which makes us look at each other.

She looks down and grabs her skirt, "my family…. Doesn't really have that much money…" she says sadly.

I just hand the owner the money and getting the Prinnys before putting the black one in her hand.

"Don't worry Megumin! After YunYun's birthday I'll think of something to help you out with making money, and if you want I can teach you some magics I have been learning recently too."

"Really? But we just met yesterday though? Why would you help me out?" She says all confused about my kindness.

"It's what friends do right?" I say with a big grin on my face, I then grab her hand while dragging her away, "Come on! Let's go check out more things to do!"

Unknown to me she starts to blush a bit but has a bright smile on her face as she follows after me, "Umu! Let go then!"
