Rale's Journal: Entry 2

Kayako had seen the potential dangers and attempted to stop it before it was too late. Sadly, she was unsuccessful in her attempts and Goliath had put some sort of curse on her. I didn't know where he gained the knowledge of curse magic.

I did notice that she seemed very confused, it was like her memories were all jumbled up or something. She didn't even seem to remember what she was doing at the time and it wasn't hard for Goliath to convince her to return to the Hollow Forest.

She didn't even say goodbye to her young children when she left. It's hard to say what the curse did to her exactly, but I believe that it was some sort of memory altering magic that still affects her to this day.

After that there was a mysterious visitor that appeared out of the blue one day and they claimed to know the future. Goliath had taken several peculiar moves upon this person's strange advice. This lead to him sentencing his own daughter to death, but he didn't follow through with it at the time.

He let one daughter grow up in the castle and the other grow up on the streets. The whole thing was questionable. However, 10 years after that he then brought both daughters to the ruins and then no one saw them again for 30 years.

It wasn't until nearly 3 years ago when lady Sadako had been spotted wandering around with a human boy. Of course, demons age very slowly but for an absence of 30 years lady Sadako looked to be not a day older than she was when she disappeared with lady Atsuko. I believe that the mystery behind that key and those ruins is the reason for this.

Strange as that is though, it also seems that our King bore an illegitimate child with a vampire general 20 years ago. The details of that affair are even more nonsensical as Goliath somehow sent them far away. From the sound of it you would think they were in another world or something.

There was that event when those people fell from the sky, Goliath had declared that anyone who would bring any of those 'unknown souls' as he called them to the castle would stand to gain a huge reward.

The mysterious visitor who claimed to know the future had returned to the castle and given Goliath some more advice. Our King then wrote up an order for his personal guards to go to the town of Illumious and fetch his grand daughter who was still an infant. No one had even known of this child's existence before this.

It wasn't until several months ago when lady Sadako was somehow captured and brought to the King. It was strange, the boy who had captured her actually favored Goliath's appearance when he was younger. I had been eavesdropping, though was unable to hear the conversation inside the throne room. I do have reason to believe that boy was Goliath's son though. There's no telling what happened to the Vampire General and it's possible the Vampires will hold a grudge over her disappearance.

After that boy and lady Sadako went into the throne room some sort of fight had broken out. All the demon knights rushed to the precarious scene before chasing them out of the castle.

I found that Goliath was growing more and more anxious, he had believed that they took the key back to the vampires for some reason and so he decided to tear down the country of Vlad to retrieve it. As if it was nothing he went and destroyed a whole country. He had clearly gone insane in my opinion, he was not in his right mind and definitely did not act as a King should.

Further still, his grandchild had also gone missing on that day which lead him to even more anxiety. He was paranoid, as if he believed death was just around the corner.

After all the bad blood between our countries, now the vampires have come seeking revenge or possibly even a new home in the Kingdom of Flames. Many innocent civilians were killed when the outer wall was destroyed. We are all here hiding in hopes of surviving the war that Goliath started.

This is why I believe it is in our best interest to dethrone our King, he has had his day and his rule has only brought hardships on our beautiful country.

I've already made a move, the Demon General Shirone of Dawn has deliberately allowed himself to be captured. He believes that he can negotiate with the new Vampire Lord Damien, but even if he is killed he has already resolved to at least explain everything I've just said to you.

It is known that Lord Damien is famously gifted in the art of curse magic and that it's possible he can undo the curse that Goliath placed on the Grim Reaper so many years ago. If that happens then there will be an alliance formed against the King and I can guarantee that we will not want to be following his command at that time."

Thus the prince, the dukes and Demon General Shirone had set a forward motion to take Goliath's political power away from him. The people were all evacuated into Illumious and Goliath was in battle, this was the right time to gain the people's vote against their current King. Rale was afraid of how his brother would react, though he had an idea.

Therefore, he would need to take countermeasures for when that time comes.
