Chapter 17 – Dimensional Group Chat... wait what?

She found herself somehow above the ground, floating in the sky in an ethereal state. Her body was semi-transparent and she figured out that she could move normally, if it wasn't for the fact that there was nothing to step on.

Then, a person walked, seemingly unfazed by no ground in front of her, and foreign memories suddenly gushed into her head.

She remembered the contract that she made in a different timeline, and everything started to make sense.

"I died." She didn't start begging for her life or another chance, but accepted this fate.

"You did, now it's time for your side of the contract."

"Very well." Then once again, her memories began to stir and her sight became cloudy.

"Don't you have anything else to say?"

"Why?" Her thoughts became slower and some distant memories became a haze.

"You are literally going to die, not just death but complete destruction. Everything you did will be for nothing. Are you not at least somewhat upset?"

With the last of her strength, she managed to make a sentence before completely being deleted.

"I simply lost, that's all."

A simple line with a powerful meaning.

Then her body disappeared.

Rimuru stared at where she dissipated for another couple seconds, in thought, before leaving.

Medea was perhaps the most dutiful out of the crew working at the café. Rimuru was constantly sleeping at the desk, Ciel never left the kitchen and having a conversation with was akin to walking the line between life and death, and Artoria always was chewing on something ever since Rimuru gave her an infinite bottomless bowl of snacks.

There were all strange in their own rights, but she still cared for them, however today, this was about to change.

A flash of light from nowhere suddenly shone and aimed straight for Medea's forehead. By passing all of the protective barriers she placed around the place, it alarmed her, however, thought speed was always quicker than reaction speed.

Although she knew something got pass, her body was still too slow to deal with it, and unfortunately the ray quickly met her forehead.

She prepared herself for the worst, but strangely enough, she didn't die, but a mechanic voice echoed in her head.

Despite these words that sounded in her head, both Rimuru and Ciel heard it.

(If I were to guess, it would be a group chat type system that invites multiple characters across the multiverse. It seems like multiple world wills from this multiverse banded up to create this system in order to repel us, the anomalies.)

Little did Rimuru know, after this conversation Ciel used [Parallel Existence] and another body appeared outside of time and space, where the world wills reside.

Before any had the chance to react, she narrowed her gaze and a strand of energy was separated from them and then connected to Ciel.

She then looked at the world wills, who were scared out of their minds for being discovered, and raised her hand.

A wave permeated through the air and the wills felt a chill in their souls.

After a brief moment, the feeling disappeared along with Ciel, but a message was left behind.

It read, 'don't mess around with us. After this is over you'll be rewarded greatly.'

Then, as if the previous encounter didn't exist, they all started to cheer happily. (A/N happy ending?)

One of the wills then said, "wait, then why did we create the group chat?"

"Oh."

"Idk."

"We spent so much strength making that, but now the group chat was just taken away from us. We need at least a couple million years to recover after that."

"Yeah... I mean... the goal of it was to kill Rimuru after all, what do we do now?"

Witch of Betrayal: I would much rather not reveal my name, and for Ainz's question, I used to be someone who had naively thought that society was all sun and shine.

Medea herself was unsure whether to mention the existence of this peculiar group chat to Rimuru, but after deciding not to wake him up, she just ignored him and asked a very crucial question.

Witch of Betrayal: What is this even for. Like, what's the goal.

Admin: Oh, to be completely honest, I don't know. I'm called Admin but I can't completely control the chat and I didn't make it either. The features were installed after it 'levelled' up. It recently did, so one new member was added. As for the end target, I'm not sure.

Admin: And also, we are parts of different universes. Sometimes, the chat would give out quests itself and we can choose if we want to accept. The quests will either be somewhere in our worlds, or one that no-one knows about. It is only after a couple of these quests that experience is accumulated and the chat can level up. That's also how you get points, by contributing in the quests.

Red Dragon Emperor: You can also get cool abilities from these worlds!

Ainz: This chat is indeed quite mystical. I am not ashamed that I have benefitted of this quite a lot.

Witch of Betrayal: Is there any way to change the username?

Admin: Unfortunately not, but this isn't a toxic community, so we won't bring it up right?

She then 'logged off', in other words, completely ignored the chat, and found that it just disappeared from her vision.

Her mind was spinning. When she woke up this morning, she did not expect for this to happen, and she didn't know what to do.

After contemplating it for a bit, she thought it would be best to spend time on this as more of a pass-time activity, rather than focusing on it too much that it will affect her work. (A/N She has a sense of duty... unlike me *sob)

A red-haired teenager lied down on his bed with his arms spread wide. Although it looked like he was staring at the ceiling very intensely, he was actually looking at the chat, before then closing his eyes with a smile.
