Chapter 2: What makes you human

"So do you have any more questions, that you want to ask me?"

´If I have any questions? Where should I begin!!! I am so confused right now. Okays let´s calm down and try to think about what happened till now. I died, should have been reincarnated into heaven but landed in hell. I understand that but I still have this feeling that I forgot something important. But what could it be. If only my wife would be here. I am sure she would know it. ...´

"MY FAMILY!!!"

"Have I not told you to stop shouting!"

"Please tell me what happened to my family. I need to know how they are."

"How should I know? Stop being so pathetic and man up. Why do you even care?"

"Is it not obvious? Because I love them and care about them. So please tell me how they are. I will do anything. So please."

´This guy is really irritating me. I am not used to dealing with good people. He truly is wrong here. He will not even survive one week as he is right now. But I guess I will help him a little. It is not like I will lose anything. Who knows maybe he will even be useful to me in the future."

"Okay I will tell you but you will have to do something in the future for me. I do not know when it will be and what it will be. But I know that it will be troublesome to you. Do you argree?"

´Let´s see how much he want´s to know it.´

"I agree!"

´Well that was quite fast, no hesitation at all.´

"They are not in hell so they are either alive or in heaven. So either way they have it better than you. If you want to have more informations you will have to go back to earth and see for yourself."

"So they are fine. That is reassuring. Wait a second. Did you just say I can go back to earth? Why didn´t you say so in the first place!? Please tell me how to return to earth."

"Well I can tell you if you want. It´s not like it is a secret or anything. Lucifer is the only one capable of opening a portal to earth. And he will not open it for anybody. No matter what your reason is. So do not even bother."

"So are you trying to say that it is hopeless? No, that can not be. Please tell me what to do."

"Well there is a way. But you have to be really strong in orden to do it. There is no way for you to do it as you are right now. Lucifer sometimes gives quest that can only be accomplished on earth. So when you accept the quest he will open the portal for you. Those quests will differ each time. And he gives those quests only to the strongest demons because they have a higher chance of succeeding the mission. As you are on his mission you will not be able to do whatever you want as you do not have time for it. But while being on your mission you can do a contract with a human and that way come back later as the human contractor will be able to summen you to earth. You will have to do something for them in return but this should not be a problem. The problem are the angels because they will try to hunt you down. That´s another reason why Lucifer only picks the strongest demons for his missions as the weak ones would die instantly."

"So I only need to get stronger. But is it even posible for me to get stronger? I am just a human after all. How can I compete with demons."

"Do not worry. It is quite easy after all. You just have to become a demon yourself."

"Ok so i just have to become a demon. Wait what?! That is possible? I am not sure if this is a good idea. Just how should I explane this to my wife."

"It is not like you have any other options. You can either remain human and never see them again or become a demon and have a chance of meeting them again. Choose now."

´Well it is not much of a choice. It´s not like I have any other options right now. But even when my appearance will change. My inside can still remain human because I am not doing this only for myself. I am sure they miss me too. And I do not want my daughter to grow up without a dad.´

"All right. So please tell me how to became a demon"

"It has already started. I guess I should explane to you how this world works in order for you to understand it. Right now you are human and not human at the same time. Because when you died you lost a little something that makes you human. Your limiter."

"What is a limiter?"

"Let´s say it like this. No matter how much one is training. There is a limit how strong or fast one can become. This is the limiter. He makes you unable to go beyond one point. Furthermore he makes you unable to leave earth and use natural powers that your generation is calling mana for some reason."

"Mana? Ok let me guess. Now you will tell me that i have a status and that I will have to go on an adventure in order to kill the demon lord and save the world. Hahaha..."

"Do not be ridiculous. Why should I want you to kill Lucifer, he is my friend after all. But you are right with the status."

´Seriously? So mana and system. Why does this not even surprise me anymore and why does it feel so much like a game? Am I starting to lose my mind or am I just getting used to this world? I guess I will play along for now.´

"How do I open it?"

"Just say ´status open´ and you will be able to see it."
