2 Who?

(Lily's point of view)

Why did it have to be her?

Why did she end up seeing the purple light?

It should've been me.

It should've been me...

—Flashback—

"Amaya!" I scream, fear and anger filling up my chest.

"Amaya! Stop! Stop!" But, it was too late, she ran, and couldn't hear me. The wrong direction, she took the wrong way out. She ran to that light, the light that she thought would keep her safe.

—End of Flashback—

I let out a deep sigh, trying to hold back all the tears crumbled up inside me.

"Amaya, do you remember me?"

"You said your name was Lily? It feels and sounds so familiar, but I can't remember anything about it. In fact, I don't even remember my life! What happened to me? Why am I in this place? A hospital? What happened to me?! Answer me!"

I close my eyes as she keeps on repeating the same questions, trying to keep the tears from unleashing. Then I start to question myself, why?

"Amaya-" "I don't even know if my name is 'Amaya'," she interrupts, "but you keep calling me that name, so I figure it is my name. But, I can't remember anything, nothing. Not my life, not my name, not my age, nor how I ended up in this hospital... Did something happen to me for me to lose my memory? Is this permanent?"

"Amaya! Hold on! I don't have all the answers, but asking more questions certainly won't help. But I do know this, for your case, you can remember things, but in order to do that, you need someone to help you. And that person is the only one who can help you retrieve your memories.. Only one person in your life, can help you. And the only way you'd know which person it is, is if that person helped you recover one very precious memory. That person can help you recover all of them, all your memories."

(Amaya's point of view)

"What?" I say, "that doesn't make sense!" I almost scream. But I somehow manage to keep it together.

Then Lily starts talking about how a person who I'm close with and cherish, or at least when I had my memory, could help me remember everything.

"The only way you'd know which person it is, is if she or he helped you recover a very precious memory to you."

What does she mean?

Wait... Didn't I just recover that yellow field memory?

Did she help me recover it? Or was it just a coincidence?

And why is it that only one person can help me recover all my memories? Even if I lost my memory, it doesn't make sense...

"It doesn't make sense." I accidentally mumble loudly.

"What doesn't?"

I look down, my hands felt weird for a second. It felt as if there was a shock of electricity in them for a moment.

"What is it?" Lily asks.

"My hands," I speak, "there was a weird rush in them.. What happened to me?" I say, a huge blockage in my throat, tears almost piercing my eyes.

Lily sighs, "I told you, the only way to know, is to find that person."

"But it doesn't make sense!" I almost yell, trying to keep as calm as I can and not let the tears defeat me in this war. "Even if a person loses their memory, it doesn't make sense that only one person can help them remember. It just doesn't make sense. How come only one person can?"

Lily inhales deeply then exhales. "It's a complicated matter, but that's the only way in, well, your situation." She looks as if she hesitated for a moment.

"Lily," I say as I look up at her slowly, trying to figure out her eyes. "...who are you?"
