2 Chapter 2

In the back of a dark ally, a man was tied to a chair. There were three other men in there, all standing around the chair.

"It will all go better, Marquis, if you just answer." The second man said this to the man tied to the chair.

"Better for who?"

The second man smiled. "A few people, probably not you. Unless...."

Marquis tried to lift his head, his one black eye and one swollen-over eye met the eyes of the second man. "Go fuck yourself." He said with difficulty.

The second man punched Marquis.

"Sorry, I can't." The man said laughingly. "But your still gonna help me Marquis, that is, if you want her to live. We know where she is. And we're going to tell them if you don't tell us what we want to know"

"I'm not going to tell you anything, you bitches can never be trusted"

The man once again, smiled, and punched Marquis. "Never said to trust us, but you can if you want." The man sighed and crossed his arms. "We both know I'm going to get what I want"

"Do we?"

He ignored this remark and continued. "All you need to do it tell us what you know of VOID. We're against them, remember? We're trying to take them down. And we will get the information we want. We are permitted to do whatever needs be, to get our info. Your profanity won't help you."

"Maybe. But not telling what you want won't.... either" Marquis struggled to say, he was getting tired.

"Then tell me, what will?"

"..Nothing.."

"Why's that?"

"Because,... He, and you, want me dead."

The man smiled. "Of course I do. And a good reason for it, too"

"You.. say good..."

"I say, and it's true." He punched Marquis again. "Are you going to talk? Or are we going to be here all day?"

"We've already been here for..... four hours."

"And who's fault is that? You could have just told us."

"Yeah, I could have." Marquis look up again, and this time, it was he who smiled. "But I needed to stall you."

"Walter Banks!" A loud voice said out from the darkness. The two other men dropped to the ground, not in defense. Marquis wasn't sure if they were dead or tranquilized.

"Untie your prisoner and leave!"

Marquis could see the instant fear in Walter's eyes. Banks. He knew that Polhman should have been the name spoken. But no, Banks. The true name of the terrorist.

Walter almost immediately went and untied Marquis. It took everything inside him to stop from throttling Walter. But Marquis knew he had bigger things to worry about.

"Hi'ya." He said after Walter was out of sight. "Long time."

A middle aged man stepped out from the darkness. "Hello Marquis." He said.

"I suppose you didn't come to chat?"

"No, Marquis. I've come to take you in. We need you."

Marquis shook his head. "You promised you would leave me and Renea alone."

"Yeah, we did. Someone else didn't though. As I'm sure you can see." He look down at the two men on the ground.

Marquis understood. And yet didn't. "It's been over four years. Why are you coming to me now? Why not anytime in those four years. Even a month ago would have been better. Why now?"

The man sighed. "Do you think I want to get your help? I did everything I could for them to leave you alone."

"Clearly it wasn't enough."

"Marquis, this isn't about you. Not this time. Sullen, es capturado por durch brennen. Nous avons besoin de toi Tá neamhní uait."

"What the fuck." Marquis sighed in frustration. "I hate it when you try to speak four different languages at the same time. I must say, you suck at it." He paused, and thought for a second. "I'm calling bullshit."

"It's not bullshit!"

"And how do I know that? I knew they were coming for her, I tipped her off. There's no way she would have stayed."

"What if it came to late? Or they came only an hour later. You don't know."

"Oh I know! She's not the dumbass you think she is. She has the brains to leave when she needs to."

"Look, Marquis, I know you don't want to believe me, but you need to. She's gone and we need to get her back as soon as possible. You have no idea what they'll get out of her!"

"If they do have her, there's no way she'll say anything. She would literally rather die."

"That may be the case."

He sighed, "What's in it for me? Hu? You think I'm gonna run back with you? Do you Arron? Relying on the info that could be total bullshit?"

"You get to save your friend."

Marquis just stared at him.

" Look, you don't have to do it. Just come in and hear us out. You don't have to do anything after that, and you don't have to make a choice now. Just hear us out then make a decision. As a partner Marquis. Please? We know hardly anything about BURN, and they're  about to find out a lot about us."

Marquis looked at him hard. "I have fanal say?"

He nodded.

Marquis walked up to him and put to fingers on his chest. "Two days." He said, and slightly pushed his fingers off him. "Two. Then if I call bullshit, I'm gone."
