49 Protecting the idol(Part 3)

As he was about to continue, he was interrupted by his phone ringing from within his pocket. Closing his eyes, he sighed in exasperation, it was in the pocket on his broken arm side. Stretching his arm across his body, he fumbled for his phone; after the fourth ring he finally managed to pull it out of his pocket; reading the contact of who was calling him he sighed internally before he answered the phone.

"What do you want, Hajun?"

After a brief reply, Gyun grunted in annoyance his glasses glanced at those in the room he answered, "I'll be there as soon as possible," before hanging up.

Clapping his hands, he addressed everybody in the room, "Well looks like I have to be somewhere right now but we'll pick this conversation up tomorrow."

"Wait what?"

Walking past Yoel he opened the door but paused as he held the door open, leaning back he grabbed the latte off the tray in Yoel's hands before scampering off as Embrace shouted in protest.

A little over an hour later, around 10 AM

Stepping out of the taxi cab onto the sidewalk, it front of a mid-sized nightclub, the neon lighting from the sign illuminated the sidewalk. The sign read 'Golden Age Karaoke Bar ' in large yellow lights surrounded by a black signboard; Gyun noted it though it wasn't very fancy on the outside it was pretty large for a bar, it even had a second floor for whatever reason.

"Tch! Juwon lied to me, he said they had a nightclub this is just a bar"

Adjusting the black motorcycle helmet, he changed the visor as he glanced around the sidewalk, noting that there was nobody and the club was closed as was the door. He had to take a detour to his house to grab another helmet after his original was effectively destroyed after the crash. The new helmet's visor was also reflective, and he had to pay cash at the store the day before when he bought it, the original plan was to use it when he needed to dispose of rotten Sunni Entertainment employees who were to well connected to be dealt with legally, but the result was his signature Van Gogh reflective helmet visor and all black helmet being used for street thugs.

He had kept the cast along with the sling since he could not take it off without risking reinjuring himself. So he settled for a few of the painkillers, downing them with the last sip of latte.

Feeling the inside of his sweatshirt pocket, he felt the handle to the weapon he'd brought just in case; though he didn't plan on using it, he was still wearing just his sweatshirt and sweatpants that he'd left the house in the morning.

He dialed the number on the phone again, and the call went straight to voicemail; taking a deep breath, he steeled himself. Gyun stepped forward. He grabbed the handle cautiously, but the doors were unlocked to his surprise.

Entering the club he hurriedly closed the door; there were more than three dozen of Golden Ages members unconscious on just the first floor.

They lay unconscious; some of the injuries looked pretty severe, but there were also around forty or fifty other of what seemed like rival high schoolers. They all wore black letterman jackets with green sleeves, it was so corny and childish that Gyun chuckled out loud; they all had the name Gangseo Kings embroidered in green across the back of their jackets.

The massive group of Kingdom members who hadn't noticed him initially when he first entered now turned to look at him. He quickly regained his composure and noted his surroundings as he tossed the empty latte cup to the ground, letting the plastic cup clatter against the wooden bar floor, before locking the bar's entrance door.

The interior of the Golden Age Karaoke Bar was less a bar and more of a pub, as it still had the remnants of platters of food from customers on the tables.

He stepped to the side of the bar moving to the corner of the bar, as the Gangseo Kings forty-plus members moved as they tried to surround him. Casually, he sat in the corner table of the bar, nearest to the door, he slid the baton onto his lap before he grabbed his sweatshirt and pulled it off his head over the helmet before tossing it onto the table.

-This might be pretty hard, I'm down to only being able to use one arm and with broken ribs, I can't afford to take a punch; I might have to hurt some of these kids pretty badly-

Keeping his eyes on them as they swarmed around the table, he was surrounded by them, backing him into the corner of the bar.

"What's a lone guy like you doing in a place like this?" A random member of the Gangseo Kings who had five white streaks on his letterman jacket with his name on it, Lee.

Gyun didn't break eye contact with the group as he grabbed a fry from a half-eaten plate left on the table, "So forty guys walk into a ba-"

Interrupting his sentence, he punched the delinquent who spoke; blood was sent spraying into the group of delinquents before he fell, smacking his head off of the table and sliding off the polished wooden table before collapsing to the ground, stunning them into a momentary silence, pain shot through Gyun's chest, his broken ribs had yet to heal so he gritted his teeth. He kicked the table into the mass of Gangseo Kings as they broke out of their momentary shock.

He was extending the baton, using the table as a buffer between him and the mass of Gangseo Kings, and swinging with precision and power keeping all the Gangseo Kings at bay, as some fell to the ground or were knocked unconscious with ruthless strikes. However, he jumped back when someone swung a chair at him.

A delinquent took the opportunity to jump over the table Gyun kicked a chair up by hooking his foot on it and smashing it into his face.

But this brief moment when he was distracted, they pulled the table away from him and began to overwhelm him with their numbers.

5 minutes later,

Gasping for air, Gyun lay on top of a pile of unconscious Gangseo Kings grasping his chest; unfortunately, one of the last thugs managed to land a kick to his chest before having his teeth knocked out.

His broken ribs screamed in pain, retracting the baton he slid into his sweatpants pocket. The entire time he performed physical activity for the next three weeks he would experience pain, but despite the doctor's warnings, he was fighting, even throwing a punch sent pain throughout his chest.

But the pain of being kicked at full force with recovering broken ribs nearly had his legs buckling from beneath him mid-fight. Taking a series of deep breaths he stood up, trying to fight through the pain; pushing the baton against his leg it collapsed again into a compact stick.

Shoving it into his sweatpants pocket he grabbed his sweatshirt and hopped over the bar counter. His breathing was still labored as breathing was still difficult with the pain in his chest.

Walking through the kitchen, he found the stairs, but a particularly tall Gangseo Kings member guarded them; this guy had three white stripes this time on his jacket and was at least three heads taller than Gyun, the delinquent's height had to be in the low 210's in centimeters compared to Gyun who stood just above 178 centimeters.

"Ah, a straggler managed to survive? I told Lee to be more careful, what an idiot I guess I'll have to handle this poor bastard".

Gyun approached him casually, looking to the side of the kitchen, "So one guy walks into a ba-"

Whipping his sweatshirt into the tall delinquent's face, the thug grunted in confusion as he tore it off his face but Gyun smashed the fully extended baton into the thug's knee.

Screaming as his legs buckled the delinquent down to his knees, but even from his knees, he tried to throw a punch but Gyun blocked the punch with his hard cast.

A yelp of pain escaped the delinquent before Gyun grabbed his hair and drove his knee into the man's head; the delinquent was sent into a semi-conscious state, curling up into a ball, trying to protect himself.

Wearing a vicious smile Gyun swung his baton mercilessly wherever gaps were, beating the delinquent into a bloody mess until he was unconscious.

Panting from the exertion, Gyun picked up his sweatshirt, though it had landed into the unconscious delinquent pool of blood. Picking it up he saw it was now splattered with blood, but he still picked it up, before setting off up the stairs to the second floor.

Wiping the blood that had splattered on his face with the sweatshirt, as he was about to head up the stairs something caught his eye.

"Hmm...I can use that" Shoving his baton in his sweat pants

he walked up the stairs, leaving the delinquent unconscious face down in the center of the kitchen.

Reaching the second floor, he walked into a large reception room; it was smoky in the room and smelled heavily of cigarettes; bottles of alcohol sat on the large table in the center of the room. A karaoke machine was in the corner, and a pair of large televisions decorated the side of the room. The entirety of the second floor seemed to be a lounge for the Golden Age members except now Hajun and Jisung and a few other Gyun didn't recognize were now sitting in front of the couches, bruises on their faces.

There were around ten members of Gangseo Kings, but the one who sat in the center of the couch wore a white and green letterman's jacket instead of the black and green jackets he'd seen up until now, he seemed to be either an executive or the leader.

The soft yellow lighting reflected on them as they stood up to fight Gyun, who Gyun assumed to be the leader. He tilted his head in confusion.

"Are you wearing a cast?" his voice was genuinely confused.

"Oh, this? Oh my god, how did that get there?... I don't know," Gyun's tone was mocking, "fucking idiot, what else would it be!"

"I don't like your tone!" the one who Gyun assumed was the leader, shouted as they jumped at Gyun. Still, they were promptly separated from their consciousness as Gyun swung a meat mallet upwards from his legs where he had been hiding it.

Sending teeth flying as the delinquent's momentum carried them forward, Gyun stepped aside letting the already unconscious leader faceplant into the ground. Now that the delinquent was out cold, he could see the back of his jacket; instead of the usual 'Gangseo Kings' embroidered on the back it said, 'King Of Gangseo.' but with a crown embroidered in gold thread below.

"Ohoho! So he was the leader, how disappointing." Gyun shook the bloody mallet as he let loose an unhinged chuckle, stomping on the unconscious thug's head over and over again.

Unable to watch as his friend was turned into a bloody mess, a trio of Gangseo Kings charged forward "Sto-"

Spinning on his heel, he crouched down to change levels, swinging the meat mallet into one of the delinquent's sides just under his arms where the delinquent had tried blocking, the delinquent collapsed over coughing and wheezing.

With a flurry of savage strikes, the other two delinquents were left lying on the lounge's wooden floors. Their eyes had rolled to the back of their head they were going to be sleeping for a while, swinging down onto the coughing delinquent he knocked him out as well.

Tossing the meat mallet over his shoulder, he pulled out the extendable baton, left with only five of the remaining Gangseo Kings executives.

Hajun could only watch as the one man who had beat him brutally beat the Gangseo Kings who had been Ganbuk's rivals for the past year easily. No, it couldn't be called a beating, it was a murder, he was absolutely sure that the leader of the Gangseo Kings, Ryu, had died from that swing from the hammer and if not from the hammer the head stomps surely killed him.

Hajun didn't even know the guy's name, but since the guy was supposed to be their leader after beating him so severely in a fight when the Gangseo Kings invaded, he thought he should call him. But he was scared now, he regretted it with every fiber of his being, this went beyond high school delinquents beating each other and selling alcohol this wasn't fighting this was killing.

He felt nausea build in his stomach him and the other executive members of Golden Age watched the bloody scene as the helmeted man brutally knocked out every one of them.

The hairs on Hajun's body rose, and he felt a shiver down his spine as goosebumps broke out across his body. One of the executives of the Gangseo Kings, whom Hajun had once fought in an intense fight, the helmeted man beat Marko as he curled up in a ball; even when Marko screamed to stop the helmeted man didn't stop until he was unconscious.

Someone behind Hajun vomited onto the ground, he felt fear, fear in its purest form. He wanted to run but couldn't find the strength in his legs to stand up. Finally as the last of Gangseo's executives were unconscious, the helmeted man was panting, clutching his chest as pained groans came from under his helmet.

Hajun could only stare at him with widened eyes, finally, after a minute or two, the helmeted man stood up. It was only after this that Hajun found the strength to stand up; he immediately ran by to check the leader of the Gangseo Kings, Ryu, who hadn't moved since he was hit almost three minutes ago.

His breathing intensified as his blood pounded in his ear, Hajun hadn't even realized it but he had instinctively broken into a cold sweat as he felt around Ryu's neck for a pulse.

Hajun's whole body shuttered in relief as he felt a pulse on Ryu, but he froze when the helmeted man spoke even though Hajun knew his face and had seen him before he still couldn't look away from the emotionless reflective visor of the motorcycle helmet.

"For a favor like this, you kick up 50% of all profits to me from now on" The helmeted man looked back to the other four executives of Golden Age present, "Any complaints?"

Hastily shaking their head, the helmeted man took off Ryu's letterman jacket, "a souvenir" was all he remarked and walked away, but before that, he flicked a paper to Hajun to read.

"Next time don't bother me with something so pointless. I thought it was a real emergency, but it was just a bunch of kids playing House, oh and when they wake up give them my number and tell them they work for me now, same conditions as you guys, too."

Hajun didn't dare to move as the footsteps seemed to echo for so long as the helmeted man walked down the stairs; Hajun and the executives waited until they heard the entrance door close before they even started talking.
