3 Chapter 3: Aquaintences

"Everything, it's all gone."

Johnathan had gotten to the village, but, there was nothing left, everything was burned down, and everything else destroyed by explosions or other means of destruction.

And everyone else dead. Even his parents.

His adopted parents house, which stood tall above most other houses, was now less than even one floor tall.

'Why me, why was I the one to survive, not anyone else. Why did they do this to us?'

The weight of the sword finally started getting to him, Johnathan dropped the sword and was pretty much on his hands and knees ready to give up. But then he heard some noises behind him, he almost immediately assumed it was more of the attackers, coming to finish him off. But did nothing.

"Where did you get that sword?"

Hope started to swell in him as he started turning expecting to see a friendly face to go with the voice of a woman he just heard. Although not one he recognized, he was still somewhat surprised when he turned around and came face to face with her

"Are you gonna answer? Or are you dumbstruck?" The strange woman said, with a, slightly, annoyed face.

Johnathan was a little speechless, but only because he was extremely tired from the fight that took place only minutes earlier. He took a minute to form the words to start talking to her, and started with a deep inhale to catch his breath "No, I'm just, really tired, and if your blind, my town just got crushed, so I think I'm gonna be fine looking at you for a second" he said, being slightly sarcastic and starting to stand up using the sword as a walking stick and brace to stand.

"I found this in a clearing, that was, your question, right? Where I found this?" he said as he gestured towards the sword.

"Yeah, nice sarcasm by the way. Hey, are you the only one left?"

"And what if I am?" Johnathan was curious, unless she wanted to kill him, that would've made him very much less curious

"i have what some would call a job opportunity, others would, probably call it a crime. Before I go further, your answer to this question determines whether or not you would even be open to this."

"Do you want revenge?"
