Chapter 8: A Brewing Storm

In the Imperial Palace of the Golden Dragon Empire, a man dressed in exquisite golden robes could be seen sitting down on a throne. He radiated an aura of massiveness and the Dragon's Throne beneath him bolstered his domineering and tyrannical look. As a man who ruled over millions of people, he was ruthless and cold-blooded to his enemies. Only his people would be able to enjoy peace and prosperity in his domain. Despite being known as a cold-blooded emperor, this man had a soft spot for the Heir Apparent of the Golden Dragon Empire, the Crown Prince. As such when the Imperial Astrologer had walked in today bearing news of the possible death of the Crown Prince he was enraged.

"Calm down father lest you lead me to death." the Crown Prince who stood near the throne advised.

"How can I calm down when I know that your life is at risk?" the Emperor roared.

"This is exactly why you must calm down father. I believe that this...unfortunate occurrence shall only happen if you let out your wrath today."

"How so?" the Emperor asked, visibly calmer.

"It is simple, father. The Imperial Astrologer has said it himself, their predictions shall only come true if we continue to tread down our current path. This was why the Imperial Astrology Department was created after all."

The Emperor simply snorted before falling into deep thought.

In the Imperial Palace of the Reaver Kingdom

"Your Majesty I bring bad news!" an old man dressed in purple robes rushed into the Imperial Throne Room rudely.

The Imperial King simply smiled as he asked, "What's wrong Imperial Astrologer?"

"Yo-your Ma-majesty-"

"Take a deep breath first then report."

The old man quickly took a deep breath but he was still stuttering, "Your Majesty the Imperial Star has grown dim!"

"WHAT?"

In the Throne Room of the High Elven Empire.

The Second Princess burst into the Throne Room as she shouted, "Mother!"

"What's wrong dear?" the Empress asked in a gentle tone.

"Mother I had a premonition of a Dark Age. One that could decide the rise and fall of our Empire?"

"Oh? Tell me, what is your premonition about?" the Empress asked.

"The Upturning and... the return of not one but two Overlords."

In the Imperial Palace of the Mithril Dwarven Empire

"Sire bad news!"

"What is it?" the Emperor asked in a loud authoritative tone.

"The Overlord has returned!"

Such scenes could be repeatedly seen throughout Terra. Chaos invaded countless throne rooms. Countless low-level empires trembled in fear as they tried to uncover the reason as to why their empires were predicted to fall. Stronger empires calmly prepared their forces for war as they smelled the smoke in the air. High-level empires hurriedly initiated meetings with their ministers as they decided on the next course of action. Some banded together to form powerful alliances, others decided to sit by and watch and others decided to ally themselves with the returning Overlord.

---------------------------------------

Meanwhile, within the Fallen Dragon Mountains a secret meeting was being held between the Ten Kingdoms, Ten Empires, Eight Valleys, Eight Families, Six Holy Lands, Six Demonic Lands, Three Sects, Two Schools and Two Peaks. These were the fifty-five strongest powers within Terra. They rarely meet each other since most of them are rivals but none of them were unreconcilable enemies. If there were such powers then the other powers would coalesce and decimate those powers. This was so that the end of the world would not come to be. After all, these powers were incredibly powerful and a single move from them could wipe out entire high-level empires.

Currently, these powers had gathered together to discuss a single topic, what to do with the upcoming Overlord.

"I suggest that we eliminate them!" the Imperial Reaver King suggested as he banged his hand on the table.

"Hoho, you sure afraid." the High Elf Empress smiled.

"I am not afraid, I am simply suggesting that we eliminate our greatest threats."

"Hehe, your more impulsive than the Barbarians today. If you're not afraid then what? Is your population too big or do wish to cease your existence?" the Mithril Dwarf King asked

"Hmph."

"My Golden Dragon Empire along with the other nine Empires will watch and see ." the Golden Dragon Emperor said.

"The Eight Valleys agree."

"The Eight Families agree."

"The Ten Kingdoms apart from the Reaver Kingdom agree."

"Cowards," the Imperial Reaver King snorted."

"The Six Holy Lands wish to teach them His Words."

"The Six Demonic Lands to teach them His Commands."

"The Three Sects abstain."

"The Two Schools abstain."

"The Two Peaks have no views on this matter."

"It is settled then. We will watch and see and take no actions until we deem them beneficial or dangerous," the ambassador for the Two Peaks said while glaring at the Imperial Reaver King. "Meeting is adjourned."
