3 Chapter 2 The Trigger

The school bell alarmed signifying lunch hours.

Everyone in class already grouped themselves with their friends some went to the cafeteria and some had already prepared lunch boxes

Including Lucas opening his lunch, Drei who seemingly stares at his lunch box even before it was being opened by Lucas was already drooling in anticipation, even Mayu couldn't help but glance at Lucas

As soon as Lucas opened his

"Hey Lucas lets trade! My sausage for your chicken!!" (Drei)

Mayu was shocked seemingly down

[This is bad Drei already got a head start against me...] (Mayu)

[Hehe sorry Mayu but this is my win today! I won't let you get ahead of me!] (Drei)

glancing at each other like being able to understand what they are thinking

those glances ending up becoming a stare of rivalry

"Ah sorry Drei I don't really feel like eating sausages today" (Lucas)

[A chance!] (Mayu)

"Geh.. w-wai-" (Drei)

"Lucas how about my cabbage rolled bacon for that then?"

"Sure since it'll probably balance out my diet haha"

With a victory pose on her mind Mayu while grinning stared at Drei's almost crying face seeing this Lucas couldn't help but smile wryly

"...i hate him"

Inside the noise classroom where you can't tell who's talking unless your near that person Lucas heard that person in a low voice talking to someone

"I can't believe i was born in that family for all i care they could all just d-"

*THUD*

A loud slam sounded throughout the classroom everyone went silent as they stared at the cause of that sound at the same time they couldn't react to the cause of it

"H-hey Lucas i-if its about the chicken we apolo-" (Drei)

"Who was it...? Tell me now who was it...?" (Lucas)

the entire class was frozen unable to react or even ask him by 'what do you mean who was it' everybody was just plain silent

"....."

"To whoever you are do you have any idea how fucking lucky you are just by being born with a family...?" (Lucas)

"...i see so you heard me" (???)

everyone looked at the person who answered Lucas

"And? So what if i hated them? It has nothing to do with you. You wouldn't even understand any-" (???)

"Yeah i wouldn't understand...LIKE HELL I COULD UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST BY HAVING A FAMILY FEELS LIKE!" (Lucas)

"Ugh..." (???)

"You're right i wouldn't understand your circumstances... you're right even if you tried to explain it i won't understand it...but even so the more the reason you wouldn't understand how fortunate you are just by growing up together with them...knowing that somebody or someone would be for sure greeting you inside when you get home...parents that was with you before you could even walk guiding you just so you can stand on your own...siblings who are there for you when you cry and would share you their toys just to make you feel better...yeah you're certainly right for someone like me who grew up without anyone would understand your circumstances...but I'm sure as hell i could say that I'm envious of you who grew up with that environment..." (Lucas)

The whole class fell into deeper silence while listening to me who was speaking everything from the bottom of my heart

"With all that i wish you could understand what i meant by now.

Please treasure your family more...

And one last thing...never ever say for them to die or even disappear like that ever again...once they're gone no matter how much you cry no matter how much you miss them...HELL NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BEG GOD FOR THEM...you can never get back what's already been lost..." (Lucas)

"...Ryuji i think you should apologize about your half hearted muttering about earlier..." (Mayu)

Mayu seemingly able to understand what happened and by some chance was able to hear what Ryuji had said aswell

"...you're right...I'm sorry i never really gave any thoughts about what I've said earlier..." (Ryuji)

"...excuse me" (Lucas)

Lucas who went silent himself as well couldn't help but ran outside with full force not even showing a hint of stopping at all

"Lucas wait! Don't jus-" (Mayu)

"Mayu wait." (Drei)

Drei stopped Mayu before she could even head outside to follow Lucas

"I think we should leave Lucas all alone for now" (Drei)

"But why!? Didn't you see what happened!? Lucas...all this time was always alone...just by every words he let go of i could feel his loneliness...

I don't ever wanna see Lucas like that ever again!" (Mayu)

"And? Then tell me after going after Lucas what are you gonna do? Pity him? Do you really think that would help him?" (Drei)

"No i..." (Mayu)

"No matter what you say to him right now do you really think that would get through him? Especially to the state he is in right now?" (Drei)

Mayu couldn't say anything back to Drei after listening to him and gave her his reasoning

"...but then what could we do for him...?" (Mayu)

"I'm afraid all we could do is let him be by himself again..." (Drei)

"But that would mean he's gonna go back to the way he was before...i don't want that..." (Mayu)

"Sorry but in his state right now I'm not sure if he would even let anyone near him..." (Drei)

and as the evening drew by class was already over having a bad atmosphere inside the room even the teachers had a hard time dealing with the situation

Mayu's Point of View (POV)

3 Days have gone since then Lucas have yet to show up in class again.

Even Ryuji has properly reflected on what he had said and understood what Lucas was trying to say.

Seems like since that day he became even more closer to his family than ever before and got to know them much better i over heard him saying that they were going on a family trip this coming saturday.

"Hey Mayu come here for a sec." (Drei)

just then Drei called me while signaling his hand to come near him

"What's the matter Drei?" (Mayu)

"It's not much just wanted to ask you somethin that's all." (Drei)

"Hm? And what would that be?" (Mayu)

"Well just answer me with a yes or no." (Drei)

"Alright then go ahead and ask." (Mayu)

"Tomorrow after school wanna head over and check after Lucas? He hasn't gone to class for 3 days I'm sure you've noticed this."

"It's DEFINITELY A YES" (Mayu)

"Uhh-yeah g-great well then we'll continue this tomorrow after class then..." (Drei)

"Done and dealt with!" (Mayu)

(W-why is this girl so energetic in the morning?) (Drei)

Drei couldn't help but just smile wryly at the hyper active Mayu in front of him.
