Chapter 2

I could hear him yelling at her telling her in drunken words to move "STOP...LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT BITCH!!" He said before kicking her causing her to crash into the wall.

I slowly look up at the tall muscular drunken man, "WHAT'RE YOU LOOKING AT, FUCKING HEATHEN !!" He yells before breaking his beer bottle and throwing it at me. The shards collide with my small body.

I lay still on the cold ground of our house as I felt the shards of glass stuck into my skin.

He stomped around rummaging through trash looking into empty beer bottles.

"DAMMIT! It's EMPTY!!" He said before stalking over to me and pulling me up by the collar of my shirt. "I SAID, IT'S EMPTY, THERE'S NO ALCOHOL!!" I remained Unresponsive as he slapped me to the ground. "Didn't I tell you to go buy some more?Fucking worthless brat!"

After yelling a little more he got tired and finally went to sleep. Once it was quiet I crawled to the bathroom and splashed water onto my face before looking up at the mirror. I stood upon a stool and look into the mirror to see two faces watching me. The face I was used to looking tired and hopeless and the other with skin black as coal and eyes as light as pearls. The reflection looked nothing like him. He whispers to me "Sleep is always needed." I nod my head before laying down on the hard-tiled floor. It was cool and silent... I wish it could be this quiet every day. When I am forced to wake it's to a suffocating feeling. I quickly open my eyes to see him on top of me his hands around my throat squeezing so tight that the only thing that comes out is tears. All I can see through my tears is his blurry angry face full of fury yelling something that I was too distracted by the pain to hear. I put my hands up to my neck trying to peel his hands away from my throat scratching at his arms. The loss of oxygen was making me dizzy, and everything went dark.

"Wake up" I hear my 'Mother' call for me to get out of the bed my eyes shot open my body chilled with sweat I wipe my tears from my eyes. I look down at my hands which were still shaking. I looked around my room before sighing in relief, realizing where I was.

" I'm Up!!" I yell back before hearing her yell back " Well, get in the shower." I rolled my eyes before rolling out of my bed and walking out to the bathroom. I close the door and look in the mirror. Man... I need to take this mirror down.

My hair is a curly knotted mess. Looks like a bird's nest.

My eyes don't have bags which I guess is good. I look down to see my hands have finally stopped shaking. I turn on the sink splashing cold water onto my face trying to wake myself.

I quickly take a shower untangle my bird nest then get dressed. I walk down the stairs as the tv in the background held my mother's attention. "You hear? All these chemical leaks is what happens when you live in a capitalist society who don't care about quality of product." she says shaking her head as she bring the mug to her mouth taking a sip. I walks into the kitchen and grab my wallet then open the front door to leave. "Wait, please eat something before you leave." my mother says as she walks over to me. I looked up at the ceiling and sighed before saying "I'm Good, not hungry." I said before opening the door before being stopped again. "Please your a pretty big guy and I haven't seen you eat all week."

"I'mfucking fine, look at me!" I said tugging my jacket sleeve from her grip. I stop before closing the door "just because you don't see something doesn't mean it's not happening." I retort, leaving the house slaming the door behind me as I  headed to school. I shake my head to myself and go to meet up with Kaito at the school gates. "Sup," I said walking toward him. "Sup," He said as we both began walking to the school library building. "Oh, Have you heard of all the incidents that been happening on the campus? People keep ending up in the hospital. It's so weird, man." Kaito said shaking his head.

"Yeah, I heard sounds awful," I said looking around. " Who do you think keeps doing this?" Kaito said, "I have no idea." I said opening the library door.

We studied and finished our homework before walking back to the main building and splitting up to go to our classes.

I waited for Kaito after school like always.

He finally comes out waving bye to his friends.

He walks me home like he usually does.

While walking my hand takes his into mine then he stops walking. He starts looking around as he chuckled nervously.

"What are you doing, man? What if people see?" I frown "We always held hands when we were younger." "We were in elementary school. We are grown now. It's kinda weird." He says glancing at me. "But that's not what you used to say," I said sulking. He sighed before walking a little faster dragging me along by my hand.

After dropping me off at my house he walked across the street to his. I walked past the huge gates and into the house.
