3 Are you ready?

The dinner with her grandfather was quiet all because Andrew didn't want to talk about what happened earlier. The wound that she had earlier was still fresh that was why he tried to be understanding as much as possible.

"Violet, what do you think of taking a vacation in Switzerland next week?" Andrew suggested after they had their dinner.

"Switzerland?" Violet creased her brows in confusion.

"Do you want to?"

It was not like she didn't want to. Actually, it was a great opportunity for her to start anew. To turn the page of her book and write a new chapter in her life.

Violet wasn't the type of woman who would seek revenge just because her ex-fiance cheated. A woman like her didn't have the nerve to do that. She preferred to avoid feuds and silently walk away from the spotlight instead. Canceling her marriage with Jason was enough. She was not going to go after him and be desperate for his attention.

The side of her lips finally curled up into a smile, "I think that's a wonderful idea..."

She always enjoyed spending her time with her grandpa. It was because of him that she decided not to take her life away.

As she returned to her room, she snuggled in the middle of the bed just like earlier and closed her tired eyes. She didn't want to cry anymore but her body won't listen. Who could blame her? Crying was the only outlet she knew.

Besides, Jason was the only man she ever loved. She remembered how she met him, it was during her second year in college. He was the only man who was willing to accompany a quiet girl like her, the only man who called her 'cute'.

Not long after she confessed, he told her that he liked her too and they began dating. She knew that he was only using her as a rebound since he broke up with her girlfriend back then. But she had always believed that one day, he would finally love her for real.

That day came. He began giving her more attention and began making her feel that she was loved. Being loved was a wonderful feeling and she never regretted her decision on staying by his side. He proposed to her four years after their graduation. And with that, their relationship was sailing smoothly.

She was a woman of virtue and believed that her first should only be given during the wedding night. She was grateful that Jason was so understanding and never forced her... Except when he came knocking at her apartment during the times he was drunk.

She had to lock him up in the guest room just to avoid being attacked by him. She valued her purity that much. Maybe so much that... he finally snapped and slept with someone else.

Violet could only think of that as a reason why Jason must have cheated on her.

What was wrong in staying pure until marriage? She only wanted to make sure that the only person she was going to sleep with was with her husband. What was wrong with that?

She knew that in this modern age, most people were not virgins anymore upon reaching their twenties. Some may say that it was all because of love but for Violet, it was only a matter of choice.

Yes, she truly loved Jason and that she was willing to do anything for him except for giving up her purity. She was firm in her principles and she respected other's choices. She only hoped that others would also respect the decisions she made for herself.

Was it wrong to keep herself clean and pure? Should she have given him what he wanted? Would things end up differently if that were the case?

She closed her eyes and the next thing she knew, when she opened them again, it was already morning.

That day, she did her usual routine from getting up from the bed, taking a bath, and dressing up in her usual plain fashion.

No one could tell that she came from a rich family because of the way she dressed. Her hair was tied up into a clean ponytail before she put on her routine, easy makeup: using concealer to hide her freckles.

She was working as a high school nurse in a school that was in the same town she was living in.

As she parked her car inside the campus, she headed straight to the clinic.

There wasn't any work for her if there weren't any students who weren't feeling sick that were why she would usually spend her time reading a book inside the clinic.

She was planning to go to the principal's office in the afternoon to ask for a week's leave.

Things went smoothly as she planned, the Principal was the only person in the school who knew that she was Andrew's granddaughter so he gave her permission to file a week's leave.

That day, after her shift was over, she didn't drive back to her home but instead, she drove to the city's famous high-end hotel.

She may be working as a school nurse at day but at night, she was a performer, a musical performer.

Entering the dressing room to prepare for her performance later, she changed into one of the dresses that was already readied inside.

This time, she wore a beautiful maroon Roksanda dress that reached down her knees. This time, she applied more makeup on her face just to look presentable in front of the customers that were going to listen to the piece she would play.

After applying the red lipstick on, she lowered her hair and brushed it to one side.

While she was busy brushing her hair, a knock was heard, asking permission to enter.

"Come in."

The door was pushed open and the Manager in charge of the place greeted her with a smile.

"Are you ready? It's going to be your turn soon."
