5 Chapter 5 - Shell Town

''Hm hm hmmm!'' Kitty hummed as they drove through the sea, while secretly thinking to himself that the sea is indeed extremely beautiful! Its enormous dangers are equal to its stunning beauty.

The atmosphere all around was very harmonious, so both Kitty and Levi enjoyed the scenary. It seemed that the sea around them didn't have hidden dangers, but that it was extremely peaceful. After the first encounter with the Sea King, Levi was very careful and used his Fruit to check if there were dangerous sea beasts near them.

As such, they avoided any potential threat by changing their paths temporarily. The time they passed on the small boat wasn't wasted, of course! Levi has a lot of knowledge learned from books about Haki, and he started training it.

Kitty didn't know why Levi was asking him to try to hit him, but still did it nonetheless. They had decided on becoming pirates after a lot of pondering, because it was the most beneficial. They wouldn't have any shackles, meaning more freedom in some ways.

The easiest was Armament Haki, as someone with a strong body would be able to learn it easier, but Levi decided to learn Observation Haki first. It would be very useful with his Water Water Fruit and Swordsman path. [A/N: So that you guys can understand it easier, I'll use the English translation of the Hakis, like Conqueror Haki, Armament Haki, and Observation Haki.]

His progress was actually pretty fast, and occasionally, a feeling that he succeeded would appear. It was just a feeling, but Levi was sure to learn Observation Haki in just a week!

He wasn't called a genius for nothing, coupled with his hard work, it wasn't an exaggeration to learn it within a week. Principally with the help of his Water Water Fruit, by learning it underwater, his progress was faster!

The lower half of Levi's body was soaked underwater, and the upper half was above, letting Kitty try to hit him. But Levi temporarily stopped his Observation Haki training, because they found an island!

''Hurray! We finally found an island, now we don't need to keep eating the spare food anymore!'' Kitty almost cried out of happiness, after learning of Levi's cooking capabilities, he disdained to eat his own food anymore.

He would only eat his Captain's food! It's just that due to lack of proper ingredients, they could only eat roasted meat without any kind of seasonings, so the taste was naturally downgraded.

Letting out a small chuckle, Levi said with a smile, ''It's not good to be such a foodie, Kitty. If you get fat, your fighting abilities will be weakened, and by then, you'll not be able to help me a lot. Though, you could be our mascot!''

''Nyoo!'' Kitty shouted in despair after imagining the scene of him being treated as a mascot, somehow, he feared that he would only have 100 Beli as a bounty for the rest of his life!

Though, he doesn't even have a bounty yet...

As they reached the island, both Levi and Kitty saw a huge building that amount for tens of meters, made out of a blue material with the symbol of the marines carved on its center, ''It seems that this is one of the Marine's bases on the East Blue.''

''Yeah, I can notice it through that huge symbol.'' Levi muttered sarcastically, and Kitty glared daggers at him. It seemed that his eyes were saying, ''Believe it or not, if you say that again, my paws will scratch you forever?''

Though he wasn't able to harm Levi due to him being weaker, Kitty could still make Levi doubt life for a while due to his endless scratching! He would be the incarnation of a cat!

''YAHAHAHA! don't be mad now, 'kay? Let's go and visit this island!'' Levi laughed loudly, and their boat quickly arrived at the island. It seemed that their figures gathered a lot of attention as they reached the entrance of what seemed to be a town. One was a peculiar youngster whose hair was light blue, and the other looked like a humanoid cat!

Cough, humanoid leopard!

Ten men using marine's clothings approached them with guns at their hands, and they said loudly, ''Everyone who wants to enter Shell Town must pay 10.000 Beli! Otherwise, don't even think about entering!''

Levi looked at his boat dejectedly as he suddenly noticed one thing: They have absolutely zero Beli! He had never been so poor in his life, even his pocket money for the month was in the scale of at least a hundred million Beli!

''Uh, good sirs, it seems that I have no money. Can I use some animals I hunted on the sea in exchange?'' Levi said politely, after all, that was the marine guarding the town. There was indeed no need for him to force it, as it might implicate the innocent citizens living in the city.

The marine soldiers seemed to think for a bit before taking a look over the animals hunted by Levi, and with widened eyes and jaws hitting the ground, they were deeply shocked. There were at least two Sea Kings along many rare animals, and after counting, they were worth ten million Beli!

And according to their knowledge provided by the marine, these two Sea Kings were extremely strong kinds. It even shocked them, wasn't that kind of existence only supposed to appear in stronger seas? It actually appeared in their little East Blue!

'Even Captain Morgan would be instantly devoured by such a Sea King, and both were killed by that youngster!' They thought incredulously, and didn't dare to lie about their prices at all.

Soon, with a 10% deduction fee and less 10.000 Beli, Levi was left with 8.900.000 Beli on him. Such a high amount of money instantly made the two of them famous in the small Shell Town.

As they passed through the streets, both Levi and Kitty couldn't help but frown. Due to Levi, Kitty also had knowledge about humans, and the humans living on Shell Town didn't seem to be on a good situation.

''Did you guys hear about it? The famous bounty hunter, Roronoa Zoro, was caught by Captain Morgan some time ago, and there are rumors that he's going to be executed in just three days!'' A citizen of Shell Town whispered, but his voice didn't escape from Levi's hearing.

'Hmmm, that's interesting! It seems that becoming a pirate is better in the end, since marine dares to execute bounty hunters, then offending them by becoming a pirate won't change anything.' Levi thought while sighing, secretly happy that his decision was correct.

Perhaps, Marine would trick him into an ambush once he became a powerful Bounty Hunter!

''Really? And it seems that he was captured just because he helped a woman that offended Captain Morgan, poor one.'' An old lady sighed after hearing such news, before adding with another sigh.

Levi's and Kitty's frown deepened after hearing such a thing, before settling down on an old Inn.

Unknown to them, their short fame had already reached Captain Morgan. Someone actually made so much money under his surveillance? It was an absurd!

It's just that it was not time yet, Captain Morgan prepared to deal with the two of them after Roronoa Zoro's execution. At the same time, a certain Straw-Hat whose body is rubber-like arrived at Shell Town. [A/N: Beforehand, I'll warn one thing: Levi and Kitty won't join Luffy's crew, but will have their own. They will just have intersections where they become friends, and that's it.]
