13 Chapter 13 - Desperate Escape

Suddenly, a sword energy was shot towards their direction, and a blinding blue enveloped the whole area! Levi only had time to turn around in a hurry and shoot a blade-shaped pressurized Water towards it!

''Hoh? It seems that you're not as weak as I thought you were, Zen D. Levi!'' A pleasant voice sounded in their ears, but neither of them had time to appreciate it, because another sword energy shot at them, with more speed!

Levi snorted coldly, and terrifying waves appeared inside his eyes, ''Hmph, you're overestimating yourself too much, Vice-Admiral Gion.''

His sword was unsheathed, and a faint blue and white enveloped it as if the sea followed the sword itself, ''It's time to fight, Suijin...''

''For someone who was raised as a Prince, you sure know how to talk, eh?'' Vice-Admiral Gion said with a sneer, and the disdain towards the World Nobles was evident. However, Levi didn't care at all, ''Prince, Noble, it doesn't matter. They're all trash.''

Vice-Admiral Gion took a look at Levi, and noticed that there were quite a few scars on both of his arms, 'In order to hone himself, he didn't even used his logia, eh? He's interesting. For a world noble, that is.'

A cold glint passed over her eyes, and she said emotionlessly, ''However, since I was sent to capture you, then you won't be able to escape. You'll be subdued here and now, Zen D. Levi!''

''I would love to see you try, dear Mr. Vice-Admiral!'' Levi said, a crazy light appearing in his eyes. He wanted to see exactly how far he was from a Vice-Admiral who had the potential to become an Admiral! Gion is one of the only high-ranked female marines and is hailed as a sword genius.

But his priorities were still here, ''Leo, Laffitte, you go and prepare the ship first. I'll deal with our Vice-Admiral over here, 'kay?''

Leo's eyes were full of pain, and he said hesitantly, ''Levi, we can't abandon you here! I know you had already been abandoned by others, I don't want you to be abandoned again!''

''Are you an idiot? Just go and wait for me, I'll certainly go!'' Levi's words were harsh, but the concern in his eyes was evident. Leo may not have a lot of common sense, but his intelligence is still there. It had long been known to him that Levi had been abandoned by those who were once close to him.

Laffitte didn't say anything, but his cane sword was held tightly. He is a cruel, and faintly sadistic person, but he truly regarded Levi as his captain. A rare seriousness appeared on his face, ''Captain, the two of us will be waiting for you. Don't die.''

Without hesitation, he suddenly knocked Leo out and ran away. Vice-Admiral Gion saw that and was about to yell for the marines all-around to surround them, but an extremely terrifying murderous aura enveloped her, ''If you dare to try to stop them, then even if I die, I'll bury the whole island with me.''

Vice-Admiral Gion stopped, and drew her sword seriously. A faint black color appeared on it, because she was dealing with a Logia user. Then, her body suddenly disappeared, ''Soru!''

Levi closed his eyes, and the Observation Haki covered the area around him. Suddenly, a shadow appeared beside him, and he was forced to parry! The force sent him flying a few meters away, crashing into a big tree!

''Goddamit strong, I can barely react to her speed...'' Levi muttered, and his eyes became focused. It would be hard to escape, but since he can barely react to her speed, he needs to calm down and elaborate a plan.

The air around him shifted slightly, and Levi slashed towards that direction without hesitation.

Clang!

The sound of metal colliding with metal was heard, but the end was that Levi was once again sent flying meters away, 'What a domineering strength! YAHAHAHA! Just how I like, ah, I wonder when I'll be strong like that!'

His eyes showed craziness, a thirst for battle. But Levi was still rational and wasn't going to send himself to death just because of his desire for a strong opponent, his eyes were looking around him frantically, trying to find clues.

More and more attacks came his way, but Vice-Admiral Gion wasn't even using her understanding of the sword, and attacking with sword energy. To put it bluntly, Levi noticed that she was playing with him, or to be more precise, trying not to injure him heavily.

'And this is exactly why I'll be able to run away...' Levi's eyes showed extreme calmness as a strong pressure enveloped him, his muscles were tight, and felt the coming of an opponent he cannot deal with.

He was adjusting his position every now and then, and as he has knocked away every time, Levi approached the place where his ship was stationed at. Suddenly, Vice-Admiral Gion said, ''You think that you can escape by getting closer to your ship?''

Contrary to her expectations, Levi slightly smiled, ''YAHAHAHA! You've seen through my intentions, but... It's too late!''

''Ryujin!''

All of sudden, Levi's skin cracked and blood dripped down. He flinched slightly due to the overbearing pain, but blue scales still covered his whole body. The usual dragon-like horn and tail appeared on his forehead and back respectively, and his power was greatly improved.

His body was overloaded, and Levi's internal organs were damaged by the continuous impacts. He coughed up blood, but his eyes were firm, looking like a sapphire that was being polished.

Unconsciously, the two of them fought all the way to the place where Levi's ship was stationed at, ''Now, your only escape is the sea. Too bad for you, Devil Fruit users can't enter the sea!''

Vice-Admiral Gion smiled slightly, but she felt terrified as Levi's face showed an extremely cold gaze, ''Dear Mr. Vice-Admiral, haven't you heard that my Logia is the Water Water Fruit? The sea is my domain!''

''So, you now have two choices: Pursue me, or let all these marines following you die.'' Levi didn't show any mercy, and his body merged into the sea. His ship was slowly moved away, but an incomparably huge shadow covered the whole island.

''Water Flow: Tsunami!''

A wave of unprecedented anger appeared on Vice-Admiral Gion's face, ''You lunatic! These marines have nothing to do with this!''

However, no reply came to her.

She frowned furiously and was about to cut the Tsunami in half with her strongest Sword Energy, but suddenly, it fell down with a huge splash. It caused no residual effects, but as she searched for the big ship, it had disappeared.

...

Somewhere not far away, East Blue.

''Levi! Wake up, Levi!'' Leo shouted loudly, but didn't dare to move Levi's unconscious body, because the light blue-haired youngster's injuries were too heavy. Laffitte frowned before bringing out the first-aid medkit.

He covered Levi's injuries with a yellow-colored cream, ''This is something I got from an old female medic. She said that as long as someone wasn't dead, it could cure most of the external injuries.''

Leo nodded, but the concern in his eyes couldn't be concealed. Suddenly, Levi opened his eyes, ''T-This... defeat...''

''One day...''

''I'll return it.'' His words were weak due to such heavy injuries, and Levi soon fell unconscious, entering a deep sleep.

That day, Levi suffered his first, absolute defeat since his debut.
