12 Chapter 12 - Vice Admiral

What happened at Mary Geoise, Levi certainly doesn't know. However, thundering news was spread to all corners of the world, saying that someone attacked Mary Geoise!

Many slaves ran away amidst the chaos, and it was said that one of the Yonkous actually attacked Mary Geoise, but nobody knows if it was true or not. There were traces of destruction even up to islands far from Mary Geoise!

Such a level of destruction was obviously something that only the battle between a Younkou and another person of equal strength. Of course, everything was just their wishful thinking, as nobody really knows what happened.

Perhaps, that would be a truth hidden for a long time.

''Eh, so you're saying that you were exiled just because you shot some people?'' Levi said with a surprised expression. Laffitte, who told him the story about why he was exiled, nodded.

He sighed weirdly, and his ghostly pale face showed sadness, ''Yes, Captain. Just because I shot 10 times in ten different parts of someone's body before he died, I was exiled. But I had my reasons!''

''I know, buddy. Officers nowadays can't respect the revenge of a gentleman, I get what you mean, man.'' Levi said, patting Laffitte's shoulders as a mean of consolation.

Though, Laffitte is too tall, so his hands only reached half of Laffitte's arms...

In the entrance of the room, Leo, who was preparing to enter the room, suddenly sweated slightly, 'Forget it. Not gonna talk with these two weirdos for now, I'll just let them talk.'

The tales of the sufferings of a leopard hadn't ended yet, because he was eventually arrested by Levi, and tied up. The humanoid leopard almost cried as he was forced to hear their strange stories, 'NYOOOOO!'

On his room, Leo suddenly woke up while sweating heavily.

He had a nightmare.

As people understood what Levi's fruit is, the Devil Fruit users feared him to the extreme. Everyone knows that the bane of all Akuma no Mi(s) is Water, but not everyone was convinced. At the same time, even the unconvinced Devil Fruit users weren't brave enough to be the first ones to test.

''Did you hear about it, Captain? That Mary Geoise was attacked?'' Laffitte said after hearing the news. Levi nodded lightly, ''Yes, but that's too far away from us right now.''

Laffitte agreed, he was just curious about what kind of thing would make such a heavily-protected place to be attacked. That's a place where even he, a master of stealth, can't go!

''Ah, but I'm very curious. A place where all of the World Nobles are together, that's the only place I'm not sure I can go without getting discovered.'' Laffitte said while sighing. Not lying, Levi felt a bit weirded out by the slightly feminine-looking man.

He swears that Laffitte looks like both a woman and a man at the same time, but not in a good way, 'It's goddammit weird, oh, why did I even recruit him? Oh, right, he's a good navigator...'

Since Laffite was recruit, around a month passed. The month wasn't peaceful, as even though other pirates didn't attack him, Levi attacked them. He was eventually nicknamed as 'Water Devil' Zen D. Levi.

Even his wanted poster had that small title added. There is an actual Marine base on the Lawless Town because as many exiled people come here, it's also a profit for them. They'll not actively capture pirates here, but pirates will actively come to them.

This is how his nickname eventually changed on the wanted poster because his influence on the pirates was way too great. Even the fiercest pirates were afraid that the Water Devil went to them, and so they were hiding.

No jokes, Levi was so brave that he even claimed the bounty of pirates at the Marine base stationed on Lawless Town. Though many pirates could also do that, they were very rare.

Lawless Town, Marine Base.

A very beautiful, tall woman with a sword hanging on her waist slowly arrived from a big marine ship, and many Marine officers welcomed her, ''Welcome to our base, Vice-Admiral Momousagi!''

She nodded lightly before entering a building and going directly to the top floor. A marine officer sighed, ''Did you see? That's the most beautiful marine, she's my idol! Ah, if I could marry her, I would be willing to die directly!''

''Then die, stop having these ideas about Vice-Admiral Momousagi!'' Another marine officer who is his friend said fiercely while huffing and puffing.

''Tche.''

''I heard that Zen D. Levi is here, someone who was once a World Noble actually fell to the point of becoming a pirate... Truly despicable, just like all the rest of the World Nobles.'' Momousagi muttered to herself, ''If not because it was an above order, I would never lose my time with this kind of person...''

After over a month passed, Levi had made a lot of trouble in the Lawless Town, and as no Marines here could deal with him, they were forced to contact higher-ranking bases. As such, his identity was discovered in the month that passed.

Momousagi, also known as Gion, was sent to capture him alive.

''Captain, my spies detected that a Vice-Admiral was sent to this island.'' Laffitte notified Levi leisurely as he drank tea elegantly. Levi frowned slightly, and so he asked, ''A Vice-Admiral, huh? That's really troublesome.''

''It seems that we'll need to leave here. Leo, can you go buy a lot of food, we'll be leaving this place.'' Levi said while frowning, they must leave immediately. There was only one possibility for them to send an actual Vice-Admiral.

His past identity as a World Noble was discovered. The only good thing is that as he's still not ''worthy'' enough for them to send an Admiral, otherwise it would get really hard for them to leave.

''Hm? We'll be leaving, it seems.'' Laffitte said with raised eyebrows, but didn't ask why they were leaving. In the month that passed, he recognized Levi as his captain for real. The talent and strength shown by the youngster in front of him were more than enough to make him recognize Levi as his captain.

If one day Levi decided to tell him his past, Laffitte would be willing to whole-heartedly hear about it. Sometimes, one's loyalty doesn't need to be shown the entire time but is hidden within themselves.

Suddenly, Levi frowned deeply, and just as Leo was about to leave the Inn and go to buy spare food, he himself caught by a rope made out of water, and flying through the window, ''We have no time, let's just escape.''

''Kyihihihi, it seems that the Vice-Admiral is in a hurry!'' Laffitte laughed creepily while running away along with Levi and Leo.

All while making strange sounds with his tap shoes.
