10 Chapter 10 - Laffitte

There were rumors that a strong newcomer arrived at the Lawless Town, and it did get the curiousness of many people. However, they also understood that the newcomer was an extremely strong and ruthless person. Nobody dared to try his depth, because there is no information about him!

The only information is that he is able to make things out of water, but even if people thought about what his fruit was, nobody was certain. Some thought he had a Liquid Liquid Fruit which allowed him to control liquids to a certain extent, while others thought he was able to control body fluids.

Nobody was certain, but many were curious.

Arriving at an Inn, Levi rented a room to stay in for a month or so, and Leo followed along with him. There were many unkind stares, but they were strongly ignored by the smiling Levi who politely thanked the burly, muscular waiter.

''Let's rest, Leo.''

''Aye.''

Meanwhile, at the Inn's lobby.

''Did you see that? He wasn't intimidated even though so many people were trying to pressure him with their eyes!'' A man with scars on his face said with entusiasm, as if he was telling a good tale. Some pirates laughed loudly, it seemed that what the man said was funny to them.

''HAHAHA! It seems that the newcomer is not fearful at all! Say, Captain, should we 'hunt' him down?'' A pirate who seemed to be the deputy captain said while laughing viciously.

The Captain smiled slightly, not bothered by their excitement at all. He slowly stood up, and his kind face became as vicious as a snake, ''Of course! One of our men was killed by that newcomer, if we don't get revenge, our reputation will become nonexistent!''

''We, the Span Pirates, have no fear! We will take revenge against the person who killed our comrade!'' The man said loudly, not afraid of Levi hearing his words at all! And his comrades repeated his words with anger.

Levi, who was going upstairs to his rented room, turned back. His polite smile was still here, but he slowly went downstairs, with rhythmic footsteps that seemed to match their heartbeat.

Thump thump!

Thump thump!

''Good sir, may I ask you if you were talking about me?'' Levi asked with an innocent expression, and his words were polite. His temperament seemed to be refined like a diamond, with no specks of impurity.

The man laughed loudly, ''HEHAHAHAHA! Of course, you're the only newcomer here! Why, do you regret killing my men? We, the Span Pirates, have no mercy on anyone!''

Leo, who was upstairs, sighed dejectedly, 'Fools...'

Hearing the man's words, Levi shook his head slowly, ''Sigh, why can't people nowadays resolve their problems with words, instead of battles? I like to think that violence isn't the solution, you know?''

Water suddenly started covering the ground where the Span Pirates were. When they noticed it, they immediately took guns and started shooting at Levi, who didn't dodge at all!

As the bullets hit Levi, vicious expressions appeared on the Span Pirates' faces, but it was soon changed to despair, ''L-L-Logia user!!!''

''Oh, you noticed it?'' Levi chuckled lightly, but it was too late! The water had already covered the entire ground. In the next moment, Levi's right hand slowly stretched forward, and he closed it, as if he was crushing something.

The peaceful water that was just covering the ground suddenly moved, and wrapped all Span Pirates up. Levi slowly applied pressure to the water, and blood spewed out of the water coccoon, ''It could've been resolved by words, you know?''

Suddenly, his tone turned colder than ice, ''Domain of Water: Crushing Pressure.''

The water slowly disappeared, revealing crushed bodies, and a pool of blood slowly covered the entire ground. However, a gentle wave of water slowly cleaned it up, and a good fragrance could be felt, ''Sorry for making the ground dirty, I cleaned it just in case.''

Levi went to his room, and chaos soon enveloped the hearts of many people, as they finally understood what his fruit is. A man with wide eyes suddenly left the room, followed by many others, obviously, they were going to notify their 'leaders'.

Somewhere within the Lawless Town.

A tall man about 3,40 meters, wearing a black-colored hat and having a skin as pale as a vampire, heard the words of another man, ''Boss, we have identified what his fruit is! It seems that his logia is about water, I don't know exactly, but he seems to be able to control Water!''

''Oh, so he can control water? How interesting! You can retire yourself, then.'' The tall, pale man said with a polite and refined tone, and the man tremblingly left the room. No jokes, he was very afraid that the tall, pale man was going to kill him.

Taking a sip of tea, the tall, pale man slowly stood up and went in the direction of the Inn that Levi is resting at. Despite wearing tap shoes, no actual sound was made as he walked, a show of his extremely advanced stealth abilities. A wanted poster slowly fell to the ground, showing Levi's face.

''Zen D. Levi, I wonder what kind of surprises you can bring me!'' The tall, pale man said while smiling politely, and it didn't take long before he arrived at Levi's room, undetected!

Levi and Leo were in different rooms because the Inn only has a single bed per room, 'Profiteers, yes?'

His room was dark because of the lack of light at night, but Levi could see and feel everything because of the always active Observation Haki.. Suddenly, something came to his perception as a tall man slowly entered his detection, that covered the whole room.

'What an extreme stealth!' Levi's eyes widened, though his perception was limited by his own choice, it still covered a good part of the area outside his room. However, he only detected the man after he entered his room!

Opening his eyes, Levi looked towards the direction the man appeared and saw that it was a tall man with extremely pale skin and black-colored hair. Both of them wore polite smiles, and their eyes seemed to see them in the other. Obviously, the two of them are familiar in terms of temperament!

A smile appeared at Levi, and a name slowly came to his memory, one that his father once mentioned, ''I wonder why a gentleman like you is paying me a visit...''

''Laffitte, the Demon Sheriff.''
