1 Chapter 1

If you had heard the news that the Lilac Gang was in your area; your first thought would be to pack up everything and move to another country.

That's how intimidating they are.

It would be hard to believe that the name was decided by an eleven-year-old child as a result of winning a rock-paper-scissors tournament.

It would be even harder to believe if someone told you that there isn't anyone above the age of thirty in the whole organization.

Would you think it was impossible if the gang was lead by a middle-school girl?

Abandoned warehouse - Edge of Scarborough Town

"Hey, who would you rather date: me, or the boss?"

"The Boss," Ava replied without hesitation.

This would be a pretty cute conversation between two high school students- except it wasn't between two high school students. A twenty-five-year-old man was asking an eleven-year-old child, Ava in the middle of a battle for territory. She was gripping onto a crowbar and choking a blond boy, while Luke, the 25-year old, was breaking someone's arm with his bare hands.

"Thanks, Ava," I called from across the warehouse. "But focus, both of you." After finishing my sentence, a new flood of people came from the opened door. Three of them immediately jumped onto me, I dodged swiftly, and they collided with one another, landing in a heap.

"86 people already, Ian. Just try and beat me." I declared haughtily.

"Yo, boss, what did you just say about focusing?" Luke shouted, swiftly punching a muscular girl, sending her flying.

"Shut it, Luke." I replied, "This relates to the situation we're in." I kicked a nearby man on the pelvis who was carrying a knife and swiped it as he fell to the ground.

"I'm already at 87, Boss." Ian interrupted loudly, "Your reign is over, Olivia."

"It's Boss to you." I corrected hastily, throwing the knife in his general direction. Ian dodged it, wedging it onto somebody's back.

"You know what?" I announced loudly, gaining everybody in the warehouse's attention, "I'm going to stay only within one meter of this spot from now to the end, and I'll still take down more people than you."

"Things are finally getting interesting," Ian grinned.

"I bet on the Boss," Ava concluded wistfully. "She could take on Ian any day."

"You've got it wrong, squirt." Luke corrected sharply "M'boy Ian will crush her."

"Well, she is called 'Boss' for a reason." Cecilia reminded everyone calmly. "She had to defeat everyone in the Lilac Gang- including Ian."

"Well, that was a long time ago." Noah added on, "we'll just have to wait for the results."

The Lilac Gang moved over to the side to watch while still keeping their guard up. Noah reached inside a hidden crate to pass out snacks to the spectators.

Everyone was silent for a second before a sea of bodies raced towards me. I dodged the first few attacks, then kicked them while they were falling to delay the number of people crowding around me. I jumped up, using an unconscious person as a boost, and landed on two heads. In the split second while the two were falling, I launched myself back into the air. My face was dripping in sweat, my body seemed to move on its own, taking down more people than I could count. This feeling was exhilarating, I never wanted this to end.

When I reduced the number of people crowding around me by at least half, I jumped back down and began hand-to-hand combat. I took down a number of people with small and quick jabs, aiming for the human body's pressure points.

When I stopped for a second to examine the conditions everyone else was in, I didn't know what was happening behind me. It felt like nothing at first, until pain sears the wound. The sensation came rushing over me like a tidal wave. Blood rushed out of the wound and quickly soaked my shirt. I had no view of who was holding the knife because I was too occupied by the burning around the cut. I felt like I was dying.

I cursed at myself for being so ignorant.

Ian was the first to notice out of all the members. He finished his opponent with a knee to the crotch. "Hang in there, Boss." He yelled, alarm hanging from his words, frantically pushing through the crowd, kicking anyone in the shin who blocked his way.

By then, most of the members had already realized the situation, and started to panic and rushing towards the crowd.

Things started to blur until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

The world went black.
