Can I Talk To You For A Minute?

Alex's words on Halloween bounced around in Claire's head for weeks. Him not wanting to date anybody was a good thing, right? It meant he wouldn't want to go anywhere and leave her. But it also meant he would never be interested in her either. 

Why did she even care about that?! It shouldn't matter since she didn't think of him like that. It did though for reasons she couldn't explain even to herself. 

She had been oddly jealous back when he was telling her why Layla misunderstood about her and Ethan too. She had wanted to go out with him because she saw him as a perfectly normal guy, which Claire did not. So why had she not liked that someone else was interested in him? Because she was worried about losing her best friend and co-parent?
