2 Prologue: Victim of Perfection

When was the last time I have seen the color pigment basking on the soft bristles of my paintbrush and canvas? I think it was the time when the real Ianthe Hawthorn was born within this secluded world. A baby who sincerely smiled in between a parent's arm, with just a simple cry, everyone knew I was in need of something. Ianthe Hawthorn, ever since she was still a baby in a crib, she was already a victim of perfection, a gold pendant in the making.

"Ianthe! What did I tell about playing computer games?!" My mother scolded as she violently pulled the computer plug of the socket, I reveal a dejected look on my face as I secretly glared at my mother with my eyes welling in tears. When she swiveled around to look at me, I immediately retrieved my glare and tears away. "You got only ninety-nine in your math test! Don't get too cocky and play with games during the winter break. You have to take a lot of lessons from now on. You are grounded 'till the end of school year!" My mother stated as she frustratingly walked out of my room and banged the door closed. I could hear her muffling voice across the room, concluding that she is talking to one of my tutors, I immediately breathed in and walked towards the mirror.

"Good Afternoon. I am going to be your new tutor in mathematics." a baritone voice reverberated within the silent room, I full tilted my body around to see the new tutor of mine. Breathtakingly obscured black hair and eyes, rosy lips, and a perfectly chiseled lean body. Seeing such figure, I could feel my cheeks warm and felt a bit tickled by it. I awkwardly curtsied and made sure to look like I was smiling naturally.

"It's a pleasure meeting you, my name Ianthe Hawthorn." I introduced, feeling a bit breathless. I briskly towards my chair and sat as I obediently waited for the paper or a book to be placed on my study table. But as I waited, the more I wondered why there was a stinging pain within my body. I touched the source of my pain, looking at the palm of my hands, it was stained in red ink. I didn't know what was happening, but I felt that my conscious self was slowly fading away. 'I didn't know death would be the answer of my simple wish.'

"I hope you will be brought to a family that deserves your kind existence-" Those were the last words that muffled within my head.

'And I hope I still have my memories intact no matter what.'
