1 Prologue

Spottedleaf stared out across the glade, nostalgia overlapping her her eyes tracked her starry companion trotting over to her, before turning her attention back into the crystal sitting in the middle of a puddle, the shape of a sleeping ThunderClan reflected in the gem.

"Pretty night out, wouldn't you say?" the tom mewed, weaving around her, their tails entwined affectionately.

"Honestly Thrushpelt. Every night is pretty in Starclan. I haven't been here for a day, I've noticed that there are no bad nights." She scoffed.

"Oh Spottedleaf, you really do overanalyze everything." He mewed, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"So, what are you doing at the sight stone?" He asked, ears pricked in curiosity.

Spottedleaf wriggled uncomfortably at the verbal intrusion.

"Um Nothing. Just watching the clan" She meow.

"Really?" He mewed, tilting his head "any cat in particular?"

"N-no" Spottedleaf stammers, caught off guard by the verbal intrusion. "Why would I be?" She mewed defensively.

He chuckled at her insecurity,

"It's not wrong to watch over certain cats that you had a special attachment to. After all, I still watch over Bluestar, but that doesn't mean I don't love you" he stated slinkily, before coiling around her, brushing her fur with his.

"So" he started again "you gonna tell me what you're looking at?"

Spottedleaf shifted her weight and got up.

"I was just watching how Fireheart was getting on, and it seems that he's been better than I though he'd be. I knew him and Graystripe would get along. They are a an enviable pair." She chuckled the last part half to herself.

"Well now that wasn't so hard was it?" He snickered like a kit, before continuing,

"Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an honourable ShadowClan elder to welcome to StarClan. Greencough has been hard this leafbare" he sighed and left her to her thoughts. She diverted her attention back to the stone for a final glance. 'Well, take care, Fireheart.' She thought to herself, brushing a paw across the sightstone before turning to follow Thrushpelt and meet this new Starclan inhabitant.
