273 Cuteness Overload

Mriga rolled her eyes at Vandit's narcissistic version overflowing and asked, "Then are you here to launch my ship?"

Without bothering for his reply, she continued in a brusque manner, "Why are you wasting my time with your nonsense? I have to go to the library and brush up on some policies and laws for the next competition."

"That's why I have come to call you. Even though you are the one contesting, it feels as if by the end of it, the four of us will be eligible for the administrative exams as well. In case you become the QIT, you better think of inducting us into your group of ministers later. After all, you know how good we are," his smug voice was grating on her nerves.

Vandit was feeling really pleased with his quick wit.

"Wait… where are you going?" he said hastily as Mriga didn't respond and made a move to go past him.

She replied, "I don't have time to indulge into day dreaming with you."

Vandit scowled, "Mean and ungrateful. People are burning the midnight oil for you and look at your behaviour. I came here to tell you to go to the Admin building. It's time for tests again."

Mriga looked at him in surprise. Chiranjeev hadn't mentioned anything about doing a simulation exercise today. They had discussed about it and decided that they would wait for the results from round one. In the meanwhile, she was to continue preparing for it on her own.

"What are you waiting for? Do you want me to personally escort you there?" Vandit asked with a mock bow.

Mriga banged her fist at his bent back, catching him off guard and making him fall on the ground. He gave her a severe glare but she gestured him to look behind quietly. Catching a stricken look on Ishani's face, Vandit fell back on the ground and started groaning. Mriga hid her smile and walked away before Ishani could question her.

She thought that she heard Vandit mumble a "Thank you."

Actually, she had figured that due to her being upset in the past two days, Ishani definitely would have been impacted and taken it out on the one person that she could. This was her way to help the lovebirds.

Upon reaching the Admin building, Mriga swung the door open and stopped right at the entrance. Even though it was morning, there were few lamps which were still burning. The room smelled dank, as if it hadn't been opened lately. Bundles of papers and books were spread in one corner near the wall and amidst all this, a guy laid sprawled, with his long limbs positioned in an awkward position, as if he had fallen asleep in the middle of something. That theory was proven right when Mriga went close to him and saw a big smear of ink on his fingers, chin and forehead.

Her heart softened as she took in the fatigue marks around his eyes and mouth.

Had he not slept the entire previous day and night?

"Abhirath…" she bent down and shook him gently.

He mumbled something and then slipped back into the comatose pose which he had been in.

"Idiot," she muttered softly before pulling the few papers which were clutched tightly in his hand.

Amazement and then, moisture surfaced in her eyes as she took in the content of those papers. He had dug out and compiled the entire data of all the previously held stage three rounds in the past hundred years, along with the answers which were selected and even the ones which were rejected. But the sheet which caused her to go emotional was the last one on which he had jotted down a few untidy lines –

How do I show my sincerity towards her?

Immediate action -

1) Help her prepare for her goals

2) Stop complete interaction with all females, irrespective

3) Control temper, become gentle (so tough!)

Long term plan –

1) Become a high performing Suraksha Chakra member

2) Meet her parents and try to impress them over a period of time (you can do it!!!)

3) DO NOT let any other guy come near her at all times

Mriga was laughing and crying by the end of this messily written sheet. Sniffing softly, she put the sheets next to him and stepped out of the room quietly. By the time she reached the foodhall, her heart had forgotten the grievance which she had battled with in the previous night.

Subconsciously, she had already started accepting his affections for her since quite some time. Even though he hadn't said anything remotely romantic ever since his confession to her, his actions had been that of a boyfriend and her heart, knowingly or unknowingly, hadn't rejected them.

After half an hour, she returned to the Admin building but this time, she banged the door on purpose, making enough noise to even rise the dead.

"Oh! You are here?" she pretended to be surprised and stopped at a fair distance from him.

Abhirath woke up groggily and then panicked looking at Mriga standing in front of him. He hastily collected the fallen sheets.

"You seem to be working hard. New assignment from Guruji or maybe helping someone special," she said with a smirk.

In his sleep deprived state, Abhirath's mental faculties weren't fully functional yet.

He froze at her words and then immediately started to explain, "No, no. These are notes which I am making ONLY for you. There is absolutely no one else whom I would do this for."

Had she misunderstood him again? His expressions were downright morose as he struggled to search for the right words, lest he made it worse.

With a slight blush on her face, Mriga replied, "Umm… then, doesn't that mean that I am special?"

Abhirath started to deny the words even before he fully registered them but then he froze. What did she say?

Looking at his blank face, Mriga felt even more embarrassed and cleared her throat, "I brought breakfast for myself as I was planning to sit here and study. As usual, I have got more than what I can finish. Do you want to share?"

Abhirath was befuddled. Mriga's face, expressions and tone, all seemed to be normal at this moment. But he could have sworn that he saw her looking at him differently few seconds ago. Was that the trick of his mind? Was his brain trying to project the image which he desperately wanted to see?
