14 Manual

The manual reads the following:

'The story will progress unexpectedly, if any glitches are detected. Fret not, this game has been developed over the course of my life. There will be no glitches, only intentional designs. My daughter, if this game is stolen, or something happens to me during my work. Please take this game, and keep it safe. Or you could sell it, or you could market it. Do whatever you want with it'

'The first part of the game will be slow, maybe fast paced for you. I'm not sure, so if you feel it's too fast, or too slow. Tell me where I should change it. I want this to be something fun.'

'I made sure that this won't have effect on you, in case of any medical issues you may potentially have. Epilepsy is something I took into account, but your eyes are far better than mine. So you won't have any problems in the future, maybe.'

'Take care of yourself, and remember. You can do whatever you want with the game, there is only 1 copy so I hope you don't throw it away. Here are some instructions on what not to do - Dad'

...

"Dad... I'm sorry."

...

'I'm back, Oh you're still here?' Kuoka was sat on a small bench that he'd made using wood from the forest. "You're finally back, I thought you'd gone off and started another war." Kuoka stretched his arms in the air, "I'm supposed to be going to the border now right? I've already made preparations."

Kuoka pointed to a large sack of food, "there's aren't many rivers around here, so I figured I could just get water from somewhere along the way."

"The map only extends to the edge of this camp, so it won't help us from now on." Kuoka slowly wore his armor, then his sword and bag. 'Tk tk tk.' Kuoka heard weird noises coming from his head, "what are you doing over there?"

'What? Did you say something? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you just now.' Kuoka sighed, "I'll repeat everything I just said..."

'Oh, yeah you should do that now. That's a lot of food, hasn't it only been around a day since we last spoke?'

"Don't ask me how I got so much food, I would rather not say." Kuoka had walked around slaughtering the entire surrounding forest, both herbs and animals. None were safe from him.

'How are you going to move all these things at once? I give you inhuman strength, but it still isn't enough to carry all this.'

"I'm not actually going to be bringing everything, I'll leave half of the bags here, for when I come back of course. I'm not about to go out, overweight. Potentially get into a battle, and just sit there and die right?

Kuoka picked up 2 smalls pouches, he attached them to his belt. "What do I do with this green robe... oh I can use this." He hid 1 pouch under his green robe. He picked up 1 big bag and carried it on his back.

'You won't be wearing your armor?'

"No, if I want to get to the border as fast as I can, I can't be wearing all that heavy armor. I won't be bringing it either."

'What if someone comes and steals all your stuff?'

"Then let them steal it, the armor is too heavy for me anyway, I'm sure I can find something better at the border. They should have many shops there, at least that's what my mother told me anyway. As for the food... let them have it, it seems that under the rule of that other Kuoka, they're all low on supplies, I'm sure that all of this stuff will come in handy for someone."

'But, we need everything we can get. Bringing these supplies to the rebels would be a good idea. We bring them offerings, they'll trust us, then we can start climbing out way up the ranks.'

"Listen, I can't see my face, and I don't know if you can. But what am I supposed to do once they see my face? I look the same as that other Kuoka, because I AM Kuoka. If the face of the ruler they wished to destroy, suddenly joined them instead. What do you think would happen?"

'Why don't you use a mask?'

"That's an option, but I highly doubt they'd let a masked person into their ranks. They'll ask me to remove my mask, then I'll be caught. And either killed, or captured, then tortured. And I don't want either of those."

'Fine... I'll try to think of something else.'

Kuoka finished packing up all his items, and he set out towards a path that allegedly let to the border. Both Kuoka and Regalia kept quiet as random events happened. "My lord! I have not found my son yet, would you care to help us?" Kuoka glared at the parent, who was pleading on the floor.

Kuoka sighed, "I won't be helping you, look for your son by yourself. If you can't do that much, then go back to being a slave. I won't be near this fortress for a while, but still take care."

"Yes My lord!" He saluted as Kuoka walked away.

'Why didn't you help them?'

"You've been nagging at me for so long. Why suddenly want to help people that have little to no involvement in all this? What would be in it for me, if I actually were to help them? It would just be a waste of time, time that I don't even know if we have."

'Didn't you talk to them before? When their son was knocked into the river, don't tell me you forgot.'

"Tha- never mind, it's nothing. Now go back to sleep, we still have a ways to go."

'No, I don't have anything else to do now. My business is settled... it's settled.'

"Then just stay quiet, I'll call on you if anything happens."

Kuoka continued walking down the long path, the sun wasn't very bright that day. The clouds covered most of the sunlight, there wasn't any rain, snow, or wild wind. It was just a normal day, not a perfect day. But as long as the water stayed calm in the river, the wind stayed where it stood and the temperature wasn't violent. Then there was no problem with the day.
