God knew that she wanted to just nod and say yes.

But she could not.

"Huo Chen, come closer."

Huo Chen did as she asked. Then, Wen He reached her arm out and pulled him closer to give him a long and sensuous kiss.

He was taken by surprise, but quickly kissed back. As the lovers were engrossed with each other, Song Shou took a few steps back and tried to blend into the background.

Soon, the kiss ended.

Suddenly, Huo Chen noticed the sorrow and hurt in her eyes and felt a wave of ill premonition. Nevertheless, he teased her and said, "It's only been a few days, but you have become so passionate."

"Is that right?"

Wen He caressed his face and watched him affectionately, enveloping him in loving warmth.

He softened further and tucked a few loose strands of her hair behind the ear. When he was about to speak again, Wen He abruptly stepped back and away from him.

Then, she said something that left him greatly dismayed.
