55 Rangdan Xenocides Pt.4

(Sorry for the late chapter. Was deciding who took which of the three sides and who dies during the... Wow! Is that a bird?)

As Ferrus battled on the Moun, Baldur and the 5th Fleet proceeded forward until they met another fleet that had two Mouns. This fleet was orbiting the next planet that Baldur was planning on destroying, which made it an issue, especially when there were planetary guns that could reach them.

Both sides engaged each other at a distance while Baldur was considering how to approach the battle.

"Ferrus hasn't finished his battle or located their weak points which means we can't just send in a single strike team. That means another invasion needs to take place," Baldur thought out loud while in his seat

"On both Mouns and the planet at the same time?" Spencer asked incredulously

"No," Baldur shook his head. That would take up too much manpower. "I'll disable the shields on one of the Mouns and we can destroy it from a distance. We send the 5th Fleet to engage the other Moun and the forces on the ground. Ibram should be able to handle both of those tasks."

Baldur had purposely sent Ferrus on that other Moun since he could not be on every battlefield and no other Psyker could do what he was doing. He had to let Ferrus discover their weaknesses in order to assist the entire campaign.

It was a risky plan but Baldur couldn't afford to tie up all 3 fleets in such close proximity. It would allow the Rangda to surround them and finish them all off in one move. The better move would be to let each fleet take on their own target in order to stretch out the Rangda forces as much as they could. At least until the other 3 fleets arrived in 2 more days.

The forces stayed engaging one another all the escort vessels of the Rangda had been wiped out. That was when Baldur made his move.

Baldur stood up and bend his knees while tucking his arms in on his right side. He had both hands open as a ball of green energy gathered above them. The lights on the bridge began to flicker as the energy built into a larger and larger ball.

Baldur then suddenly pushed his hands forward, the ball of energy turned into a beam that passed through the glass as if it was not there before reaching outside the ship. It flew quickly through the void of space until it reached one of the Mouns and struck its shields. The green shield flickered several times before shutting down and the beam touched the Moun itself, shutting down many of the weapons that were firing at the fleet.

The Primarch sat back in his seat, some sweat dripping down from his head. While Baldur was a powerful Psyker, he did have one weakness, if one could call it that.

Most of his spells dealt with raw elements, minds, souls, or materials, not with technology. So in order to disable the shield that was not powered by the Warp, he had to expend more energy to simply overload it with a large amount of electricity instead of actually disabling it by making the generator simply malfunction.

With the shields down and weapons disabled, part of the fleet focused on the Moun, sending countless missiles and shots from their weapons to destroy it and cause a massive explosion.

"Thanks for that, Warmaster. We can take it from here," Ibram called over the comms before leading his fleet into two different directions, with half of them heading down toward the planet while the other half went to engage the other Moun for an invasion.

With one Moun dealt with, they had a much easier time with this new invasion. Cassian would lead the battle on the Moun and take a majority of the Terminators with him to mow down as many slaves and Rangda as swiftly as they could while Ibram would lead the invasion on the planet, taking many of the Imperium soldiers and other Astartes with him.

The rest of the fleet would act as their guards, protecting both sides from any attacking force from taking advantage of them.

Baldur let them take over for that battle while Baldur led his 1st Fleet off to head to a new battle and further divide the attention of the Rangda. Unfortunately for the 1st Fleet, they would come across the next strongest fleet after the blockade.

Baldur and his 1st Fleet had come across a fleet that lacked a Moun but had several thousand ships. They were numerous and had nearly surrounded the 1st Fleet from all sides. In such a dangerous situation where they were out numbered on all sides, Baldur had one response.

He clicked on the scanner next to him and selected 400 ships at the rear of the fleet and marked them all blue while the rest of the fleet was red for hostiles.

"We'll be right back. Make sure you don't attack the ones we are on," Baldur told Spencer as he stood up from his seat once more and silver light covered his and the Custodes body. But it was not just them. All the Grey Knights were covered in silver light before they appeared on ships within the Rangda fleets.

The 40,000 Grey Knights appeared on the 400 of the ships, each in only a single group that had around 100 Astartes to it. As soon as they were on board, the Grey Knights began to wreak havoc. If it was against true Rangda armies, they may have had trouble but most Rangda craft were manned mostly by slaves with only 10-20 Rangda onboard.

This meant that even if these creatures could match a Grey Knight in strength, they were outnumbered by at least 2 times. This meant that even with the thousands of slaves on their ships, the Grey Knights had little issue killed the crew commandeering the ships before opening fire on the Rangda behind their own lines.

With created chaos among the fleet and even caused a few ships to fire upon each other, unable to determine who was truly their ally as Baldur ensured that a single Sorcerer was on each ship and used the Rangdan's own shape-shifting ability against them, disguising their men as Rangda on the bridges of the ships when they were hailed.

"Crash them," Baldur reached out to all his sons, having all the ships plot a collision course with a nearby Rangda craft.

With the ships on their paths, Baldur felt the presence of all of his sons and teleported back to their vessels, just in time to see the fireworks as they ships crashed into one another. The rest of the battle was not too long as the Rangda were swiftly eliminated with the overwhelming firepower of the Imperium fleet.
