System's Capabilities

*This chapter is a bit of an info dump so that I won't need to explain the capabilities of the system later on.*

Once more, I felt surrounded by the darkness of what seemed like death. I sighed, thinking that I wasted my second chance of living. Out of curiosity and helplessness, I tried to call out for the system.

"System, are you still there?"

[THE FOR HONOR SYSTEM SHALL ALWAYS BE WHEREVER THE HOST IS]

Although the system responded in its cold and lifeless voice like it usually did, I felt an odd sense of comfort knowing that I wasn't alone in the seemingly endless abyss.

"System, am I dead again?"

[HOST IS MERELY IN A COMA, NOT DEAD.]

"Ahhh, thank goodness."

I gave off a sigh of relief as I heard that I actually wasn't dead. However, I found it awfully boring in the abyss as although my consciousness was awake, my body wasn't. After a while of doing nothing, I decided that this would be the best time to thoroughly investigate the functions of the system.

"System, display my-"

It was then that I had no idea what to call the information that the system would present to me.

"Hm... System, can I call the layout of the information User Interface? Ah, actually, can I just call it UI instead?"

[WHAT THE HOST WANTS, I OBEY]

I formlessly nod to the response of the voice as I had no physical form.

"Okay then. System, display UI."

Against all odds, I trod onward. Breaks the aggressor's defense. Can be dodged and has a chance of failing depending on the capabilities of the aggressor.

I am he who brings death. When the aggressor has been defeated by the user, the user can choose to execute his aggressor. When executed, the stats of the user will increase in proportion to the stats of the enemy and their own level.

As I saw my stats that had quite a jump in numbers, I was suprised.

"System, I thought that my stats would only go increase if I leveled up?"

[HOST'S STATS WILL INCREASE QUALITATIVELY WHEN HE LEVELS UP, BUT THERE ARE ALSO SMALL INCREMENTS TO HIS STATS BEFOREHAND DEPENDING ON THE ACTIVITIES THAT HE WOULD ENGAGE IN.]

I thought silently to myself as that would indeed make sense. Just like how if I worked out in my previous world. When I chose to workout, I would slowly but surely get stronger.

"Ha... I need to knock it into my head that this isn't a game but real life. Seems like that goblin attack wasn't as traumatizing as I thought."

Thinking about the goblin, I shuddered a bit but promptly shook of that feeling.

"If I'm going to survive in this world, I should get used to the feeling of killing living things... Maybe even humans eventually too."

Strangely enough, I kind of felt excited at the thought of killing more living beings. I mean, if the goblins could give me experience by killing them, wouldn't humans and other living beings do so too?

"Hahaha... All those thoughts, ideals and morals from my other world were always nothing in the face of power, fame and fortune. Wouldn't they become even more worthless in this world wherein an individual could become powerful to the point of insanity?"

I ponder to myself as I chuckled about the thought of me killing a human when I vomited at the sight of a dead goblin.

"Well, I'll only cross certain bridges if I truly need to do so. Getting used to killing my own kind might not be for the best."

Then, I continued to look through the information again before coming across the Executioner ability that I got. My imaginary eyebrows raised as I discovered the capabilities of this broken skill.

"Holy shit... With this skill, I might truly become addicted to killing."

If he skill's description is what I think of it to be, then I could possibly become infinitely stronger just from executing my enemies. Then, I thought to myself that I might really need to set some ground rules for my thought process as I might get lost in the power that I would get from killing.

"All things in moderation..."

I say to myself as I then continued to look for other things that caught my eye about the system. Then, I saw an option besides the shop that I used before to find a weapon.

"Speaking about my weapon... System, why is it that my longsword has parts from different weapon styles?"

[THE WEAPON PACKAGE GIVES OUT COMPLETELY RANDOMIZED WEAPONS. THE RANDOMIZATION INCLUDES NOT ONLY THE WEAPON STYLES, BUT THE PARTS OF THE LONGSWORD AS WELL.]

"Oh... Does that mean that I can purchase parts for the longsword from the shop separately then, System?"

[THAT IS CORRECT.]

"Okay then. System, open the order menu."

2.) Become level 1 (Upon completion, Rare section of shop is unlocked)

I looked over the current orders available as a disappointing thought came to mind.

"System, did my execution of the goblin count towards the completion of the first order?"

[FOR HONOR SYSTEM: HOST HAS YET TO SELECT THE ORDER, THEREFORE THE EXECUTION HAS BEEN RENDERED INVALID.]

"Ha... I knew it."

I sighed in frustration as the action of me completing some rewards I put my mind into in For Honor yet forgetting to selecting orders popped up in my head.

"Well, I guess all that's left now is to wait for my body to awaken."

I thought to myself excitedly as the thought of exploring a fantasy-like world was a dream come true to the rebellious, teenager me.

"Let's make this one a truly memorable experience, me."

I make an oath to myself as I decided to sleep for the rest of thee time that my body is in a coma.
