1 Chapter 1: Meeting Our Employers

The sun hung low in the sky today as Dabria and Niratap walked through the streets of Aalin. This may have been no big deal for an average person but for these two; it was a big risk. Both were nitorias bounty hunters and assassins. Each was highly trained and skilled in every fighting style known to the mortal and immortal world. Dabria was a nephilim(half angel half demon) had fair light skin tone. She had long black hair that is naturally straight. It came just below her hips. Side-swept bangs, layered hair. Close set eyes. Icy blue color but can turn to a red blood color when fighting or when angered. She was around 5'9, weighed 210lbs, she didn't weigh alot but her wings were quite heavy. She has pointy ears, a nice sharp jawline, and a small round nose. With an hourglass shaped body, her angelic/devilish curves are shown. She can be as fast as lightning due to her six wings, she could hide two sets of wings if she wanted. The smallest set and the biggest set was black; while the medium set was white. She didn't have horns, so she had a helmet that had long curved horns. Dabria usually wore a black tight fitted armor, with a bright gold trim. And to go with her wings she wore a white long flowy mullet skirt, that had a slit on one side, which also had gold on it (doesn't wear when fighting). Has a bright gold bracelet on her left hand that used to be her halo but she removed it from her head. She likes to appear frightful and very powerful.

Niratap on the other hand was a revenant, a creature that could fight and live forever unless his heart was pierced/damaged. He had snowy white hair that came halfway down his neck. Short bangs that occasionally fall into his eyes. His eyes had inky black sclera that were darker around the iris. The iris was white while the pupil was inky black as well. He had pale skin, was about 5'11", weighed about 140lbs, and had the body of a martial artist. Niratap usually wore: black tactical jeans made of kevlar over black combat boots, a black military belt, and a white tank top specially made of kevlar. Over that he wears a trench coat that is both black and white. From the collar to his sleeves and the middle of his back it was white while the rest was black. Both were considered to be legends but to most they were myths that didn't like to be around anyone but each other. They've lived for many centuries and to them anyone else was just an ignorant being. "So we're supposed to meet our new employers on the border of Scantum and Genopia?" Niratap asked Dabria.

"Why so far away? And what is the mission?" Dabria asked, as she checked her weapons. Her main weapon was a longsword. It was made out of rhodium, it had a gold handle, and a dragon seal on it. She also had two curved daggers that were made out of gold, but were a dark purple, had a blue lightning bolt blade part, while the grip was a nice black Ruthenium. Her longbow was made out of white silver, with dragon wings to either side of the bow; and had a thick wire. They had just finished a mission and were heading to another one. Their last mission was to eliminate a nest of ferrule vampires that were picking off workers from a nearby company.

"Not sure they seemed in desperate need when I got the call." Either way we're in for quite the job. Niratap answered as he checked his own weapons. On his back was a massive sword made of an old ancient but magical material called stygian iron. It was very well known to be used by Underworld gods, goddesses, and other said creatures. The blade was curved from the top but the small quarter above the grip was pushed inside itself; like an upside down triangle. From there the back was normal except the top that curved, the bottom had a small gap but that was for the strap to hold it on Niratap's back. Wrapped around the grip was a white ribbon-like material; this weapon was Niratap's Jackal. Holstered on his left thigh was a silver beretta handgun. It had a mk1 extended slide, a muzzle brake equipped, and a monolithic suppressor for stealth. It also had a lightweight trigger, a xrk speed grip, no optic, and had the design of a snarling wolf on it's slide. This was Niratap's Silver Fang. "Might be another infestation problem." Niratap guessed.

"I hope not, I really don't mind doing the mission but those are always messy." Dabria groaned annoyed. "I hope that it's a bounty and an easy one." Dabria was tired of having to clean her weapons, due to all the blood on them.

"These people pay well for small jobs," Niratap reminded her. "Besides, we've been around long enough to know; nothing good ever comes out of these creatures." With that the two continued on eventually finding a safe place to call their modes of transportation. Dabria whistled as she called her pet dragons, Belinda is the black female dragon. Belinda had bat-like wings, black sparkling scales that covered her whole body with spikes going down her back and tail. Two big horns on the top of her head. Dabria's second dragon was called Arad, he was a white male dragon. Arad's wings were bat-like but they had feathers on the top. Like Belinda, Arad had, whitescales that covered his whole body and spikes down his back and tail. Arad had two long curved horns with a streak of gold on them. Both majestic creatures that were very smart. Dabria had raised and trained them herself.

Niratap's mounts were griffons he named Than(male) and Mors(female). Than had raven black feathers with small hints of purple. His eyes were deep; pretty violet eyes, his beak and legs resembled a raven's. Mor's on the other hand had inky black feathers, her eyes amethyst colored eyes. Her beak and legs were an ashy gray. Both had saddles on them but Niratap signaled for Mors to fight back home. "This will get us there faster." Niratap said as he got on Than's back. "Are you ready to go to Dabria?"

"Ready as I'll ever be." Dabria said while getting on Belinda. Niratap nodded then clicked his tongue signaling for Than to take off. The inhabitants of Genopia and it's cities still used conventional vehicles but Dabria and Niratap got around their way. It was quickier and more reliable when it came to stealth missions. After a quick two hours both were at a small cabin that sat in the middle of a "nameless" forest reserve.

"Let's make sure we're not walking into a trap," Niratap suggested, as he got off Than. "They could just be trying to unlock the secrets to our immortality." Niratap clicked his tongue causing Than to leave but stay close incase.

"Okay, I'll check over here, you can look over there." Dabria suggested as she slid off Belinda. She waved her hand to tell Belinda to leave.

Niratap nodded as he began to look for foot prints, one of the most rewarding skills he learned over the years was tracking. With it he was able to find his targets faster than most bounty hunters or assassin's could ever do. "We're clear here," Niratap Shouted as he exited the cabin. "Anything on the outside?" He asked as he holstered his revolver.

"No, we are clear out here!" Dabria shouted from outside. "But I feel like someone is watching us." Dabria was getting shivers all over her body.

Niratap sniffed the air and gave a small smile, "Twenty feet up, northwest, and seems to be breathing quite heavily." Niratap turned towards the one who was in the tree and smiled creepily. "We're here for your job; come down and talk or we'll leave."

The figure that was watching them hesitated for a moment then jumped out of the tree and did a quick tumble before standing. The elf that stood before them was female, stood at about 6'1", and had an athletic build to her. She had Brown hair that was braided into dreadlocks, her eyes were an emerald green, and her skin was a fair tan. She was dressed in green shorts that came to the middle of her thighs, under them were brown tights. Around her waist was a brown leather belt, on her torso was a green crop top, while she wore simple hiking boots on her feet. On her back was a quiver full of arrows, strapped on her belt were two twin bladed daggers. "What is your name child?" Dabria asked, trying to get information from the girl, while reaching for her two daggers at her side.

"Zadea Runner," The elf answered, with a slight russian accent. "Your Dabria and Niratap?" She asked as she exclaimed the two. "How do I know who you say you are?" Zadea pointed out.

Niratap chuckled to himself, "This child doubts us, Dabria. What do you make of that?" He asked, completely ignoring Zadea.

With a serious look on Dabria's face, she looked at Niratap and then at Zadea. "I think that's hilarious." Dabria, now looked as if she was about to laugh. "Child, you don't have to believe in us, if you don't want to. We just came here for a job." Dabria explained.

"The elders of my village didn't want to get outsiders involved. They think that you'll be persuaded by our enemies to fight for them. I took matters into my own hands to prove you could help; for that I've been labeled as a rogue(outsider) and can't return unless their leader is dead. My baba…" Zadea's voice faltered for a moment. "He's sick and unless I get back he could die."

"Looks like you got your wish Dabria," Niratap jokes. "It's not another infestation job." Niratap began to stretch then looked back to Zadea. "So, this is an assassination mission?" Zadea nodded confirming his claim.

"You know you're not funny, right? I'm going to get the weapons ready." Dabria said annoyed. As Zadea kept watching the two. Both in awe and utter surprise since the two lacked social skills.

"Strange, I don't remember making a joke," Niratap said out loud. Zadea face palmed from his answer then sighed deeply. "I'll have Than run recon on the area while we use the cabin for our base of operations. Get everything set up there then we'll begin planning our attack." Niratap ordered. "That means you as well child." Zadea gritted her teeth then dashed towards the woods to recover all the information she had on their targets.

Dabria whistled for Belinda and Aran, who weren't that far away. Aran was carrying the weapons, while Belinda carried the supplies. "Why do you always boss me around, like I have no clue what I'm doing?" Dabria shouted at Niratap

"Live for six hundred and forty-five years, then we can talk," Niratap pointed out. He then whistled for Than to reappear then went to his saddle bags. "Alright Than I'm going to need you to go get Mors and meet us back here asap." The griffon squawked in response as Niratap continued to look for his supplies. Both had enchanted their animal's saddle bags to hold ridiculous amounts of weapons and supplies without any weight.

"You know you're only like 177 years older than me, right?" She yelled at him, while getting more supplies out of Belinda's saddle, then walking over to Aran to get more weapons. Dabria liked to be prepared.

Niratap shrugged off her response and began to go through Than's saddlebags. As he was doing this Zadea returned with a satchel slung across her shoulder. "Is that everything you have on the enemy?" Niratap asked while giving a disappointed look. "Well if you want to kill them you'll need something better than a bow and arrows." Nirataps reached into Than's saddle bags again and pulled out an old weapon he hadn't used in a long time. It was an ak-47 assault rifle equipped with a spetsnaz elite barrel, a compensator on it, while having a commando foregrip under it. For a stock it had a forged tac ultralight stock, a canted hybrid optic, and granulated grip tape on it's rear grip. The rounds that were in it's magazine were 5.45x39mm thirty rounds/ammunition.

"Thank you but, I don't know how to shoot a gun." Zadea replied a bit sheepishly. Niratap blinked for a moment then gave a passive shrug.

"Don't worry child, Dabria can teach you." Niratap answered openly, volunteering Dabria to teach her how to use the weapon. "She'll probably have to teach you how to clean and maintain it as well." Niratap said as he closed the saddle bag.

Dabria walked in the cabin, to her left was a small living room, in front of her was a kitchen/dining room area that had an oven, and refrigerator. The living room looked like it led somewhere but Dabria just continued with her search. Niratap had already checked for traps, she trusted him but Dabria wanted to make sure herself. "Will you get in here and help me figure out a plan!" She tried to get Niratap's and Zadea's attention.

"Alright fine but does that mean I'm cooking or your cooking tonight?" Nirantap asked as his stomach growled in agreement. "We'll discuss a plan over dinner." Niratap suggested, as if on cue Zadea's stomach growled. She blushed embarrassed and quickly turned away heading for the cabin.

"You have been alive for six hundred and forty-five years and your cooking still needs work, with or without magic," Dabria said, teasing Niratap. "And plus I already have some of the ingredients for the meal out." Dabria had gotten some potatoes, garlic bread, and corn. "I need someone to go hunt down some meat."

"Anything home cooked or oven made sounds like heaven. I've been making my food over a fire for too long." Zadea groaned as her stomach growled in agreement.

"I'll have Than catch something while he's getting Mors!" Nirattap shouted back at Dabria. He then sighed as he stared up at the now setting sun. "This is going to be an interesting job." With that he headed inside to join the two. Neither Niratap or Dabria would have guessed how far this job would take them. Nor did they know that bond they would soon make with young Zadea Runner, soon to be known as the Ventus Freedom Assassin.
