1 Child amongst death.

Midnight, June, the year 2042,

West Asia, War_zone_34, sector 17

Silent and dark night to the point of being creepy. Like graveyard on a foggy night. No matter where you look there is no life in sight. Plants and trees long ceased to exist in this region, due to endless war, contamination, and blood that soaked deep through the ground. Ruined buildings and greenish fog hovering above the ground, don't make it any easier to be here, on a contrary the fog is poisonous, and without proper equipment, you won't survive more than few minutes.

*BOOM* *tutututututu* (sound of the shooting)

"Go!! go!! go!!" Maya shouts to hurry members of her squad. Bodies lay beneath their feet, but Maya and her squad kill opponents mercilessly.

"We broke through, continue with a plan!!" She says through an ear communication device to her companions.

Maya runs inside the enemy headquarters slaughtering anyone in her way. After running through several long corridors and multiple rooms she realized that she is close to her goal.

She came here to destroy a terrorist organization on orders from her country. Mass murders, genocides, human trafficking, drugs, bombings are only a few of their crimes. But she left destroying organization to her squad. The reason why she is alone in the deepest part of enemy headquarters is locating and retrieving data from terrorists. Certain sources confirmed that this organization has been doing human experiments. She is here to retrieve data from experiments and help victims.

She hears a sound and stealthily moves towards it. It isn't weird that they put high security on experiments.

The door suddenly opens and Maya sees a middle-aged man in a lab coat coming out. She kills him quickly and quietly enters the room before the door closes. Inside the room doesn't match the rest of this building. Clean white walls, everything neatly placed. This place seems more like a hospital laboratory, not a terrorist organization.

Maya hastily but quietly hides behind a big shelf so other white coats won't see her. Lab coats are visibly agitated and it seems they are going to destroy data soon so she has to hurry.

Maya stealthily got closer to lab coats and swiftly killed them all. They didn't even realize what killed them. Confirming that all enemies are dead she proceeds to extract data from computers. Seeing that it will take some time she looked around the room once again. She noticed a steel door located on the right and went in that direction.

She tried to open them but the door needs the authorization to open. Seeing that it needs a fingerprint she started to search the corpses of lab coats. After a minute she found identification cards and checked which lab coat has the highest authority in this lab. She found a research leader and without hesitation, she cut off his hand. Then she put his hand on the scanner. After a few seconds door slowly opened. What she saw inside made her already cold heart freeze even more. Inside there were multiple corpses. Some were hanging, some laying. Some were intact and others in many pieces. But all of them had one in common which is deformation. Some have many limbs. There are some with animal features. And some don't even look human. Some in cages and some tied to the operation table.

Compared to the clean white room from before, this one looks like hell itself.

Maya didn't lose her composure and walked forward looking for survivors. There are hundreds of corpses, but no one is alive.

Then Maya thought she heard a quiet sound. She turned in its direction and walked towards it. there was another door she opened them with a lab coat hand and walked in. What she saw inside shocked her. There was a hanging young girl about 5 or 6 years old. Looking at her moving chest Maya confirmed that the girl is alive.

The girl looks human in contrast to other victims. Her black hair with blueish and green parts looks normal compared to the corpses Maya saw earlier. She is hanging tied to the wall with her arms above her head. Her body is naked, filled with many scars and wounds. Maya can't fathom how could they do this to such a small child.

The child moved, her eyes slowly opened. She was slightly surprised seeing Maya as she didn't look like any of the lab coats. She saw the hope of salvation in Maya.

"h-hg ...he- lp ..ghg" *cough* *cough*

Then the child's red eyes closed and she fainted again. Maya didn't wait and freed her from the chains. She grabbed the girl in her arms not knowing how to handle the small child. Something in Maya's heart moved when she looked at the girl in her arms. Knowing that she needs fast treatment Maya to walk out and head to the exit. When she came back to the white room she found that data is already copied and she completed her mission. Seeing that the child is still naked. She took of lab coat from a terrorist and covered the girl with it. Then she exits the white room and rushes to her squad to give the girl treatment. She could hear that the fight already ended.
