2 II.

Three hours have passed and we are still studying. I came here at 2:00 PM and now, it's already 5.

It's tiring but at least we were able to finish Mathematics. So up next is chemistry. I was planning on staying here until 6 in the evening. I am not scared of going home alone that late since I only live next door.

"So, what we'll be reviewing next is all about science and chemistry. Let's start with the history of chemistry. Chemistry is considered to have become an established science."

I looked at him just to check if he's really listening. And to my surprise, he is. Good to know he is still participating.

I continue to read some more until I finally finished the paragraph. Out of a sudden, his phone beeps making me turn my head to look at him.

"Hello? What? Where? Are you sure? I know she can't do that to me!" Then, he brought his phone down.

"Um... Cam?"

He was gripping his phone tightly and glaring.

Why is he glaring?

I slowly peeked over his phone and saw what he was glaring at.

It was a picture of a girl, which probably is Darlene, with some guy... and they were kissing.

Oh well, I was expecting this to happen anyway. As I've said, the Player meets the Player.

Darlene was known to be a playgirl anyway, so... yeah! I am 100% not surprised.

"I'll go now. You stay here for a while and wait for Me." he said and quickly went out of his house and got onto his motor and sped off to somewhere out there.

Then, my phone rings. "Yes, Mom?"

"Your Aunt Carrie called and she said she won't be home until 8 in the evening. She said she saw one of her clients and decided to have dinner with them. But if you finish your review there, just come home already, alright?"

"O-Okay." Then I hung up.

As much as I want to go home now and do my business, I know I must not. He said I should wait for him. Well, I guess I'll be waiting for Cam to arrive home.

But for now, I'll be reviewing for the finals again. I'm already done with History. Next is English literature.

I quickly got my reviewer out and started to review.

:::

An hour had passed and it is already 6:00 pm, where the heck is that doofus?

I guess he will come home late; and probably with Darlene doing something.

So I decided to fix my things and I started to get up from the couch.

He's really an airhead, he already knows that Darlene is a playgirl, why must he still thinks that she'll take him seriously? And that's real talk!

And speaking of him, here he comes. Alone. Walking through the opened sliding door.

And the first thing I noticed were his cuts and bruise on his face and those blood on his shirt and shorts.

"What happened to you?" I asked as I hurriedly made my way towards him.

Even though I hate him, I still can't deny that I still care for him.

He didn't reply and took a sit on the couch.

"Well, I guess I'll be heading out now." I told him as I gather my things, preparing to leave.

I started to walk out the door when he suddenly grabs my hand.

"Just stay with me for a while..." I turned to him and saw that he was looking at my face. "Please?"

He's right. I can't just leave him looking like that. Even though he's my enemy, I still must not leave him like that. I mean those cuts must really hurt like crazy and it must be cleaned before it gets infected.

Wait, why is my conscience making me feel like this?

"Fine." I stated. "I have no choice, haven't I?" I removed his grip off my hand and made my way to the couches. I placed my stuffs down on the coffee table and took a seat on the couch.

He took a seat beside me, slowly. I crossed my legs and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well... I started a fight." He said, slowly.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Of course you did. What else could have been the cause of those cuts and bruises?

Way to go Captain Obvious!

"I punched the guy who is flirting with Darlene. And so... yeah." He said as he bowed his head. "This is what I get for punching that douche... I had been rejected. Wow!"

I just sat there. I don't really know what to say.

I mean, I am now sitting beside the guy who broke my friend's heart two years ago, and I am now seeing him in pain for losing his girlfriend.

What's the right thing to say? What's the right thing to do?

"Well, it hurts so much to see them together." He said, still not looking at me. "I guess you're happy now, huh? Seeing me like this. Tell me, did Nina felt like this when I broke up with her? Did she even look miserable like how I look now?" he asked as he raised his head to look at me.

Those eyes don't look as mischievous as how they were hours ago before he went out that door.

I don't know if I'll be happy or not. I don't know. "I think we need to put some medicine and cover those wounds before they get infected." I told him as I try to get up but he grabbed my arm yanking me back down on the couch. "But Cameron, it's bleeding."

He shook his head slowly.

"No, let me feel the pain. Let it bleed. Let it get infected so I would know how hard it is to love someone and they would just play with your feelings. So that I can remember the pain I'm feeling right now so that I wouldn't be doing it to someone else."

I looked at him like he just came out from the mental hospital. "Why would you do that yourself? Do you think she'll care about you anymore? Are you really that stupid?"

He raised his head to look at me. With his eyes looking through me. "So that I can learn from it. We can't change anything but we can learn from our mistakes." He said. "And yes, I am stupid. I was always the stupid son of my father."

"Do you think she's worth the pain?" I asked as I try my best to get him back to his senses.

Why is he doing this? I didn't do this at all when he hurt me.

Seconds passed by when he pointed somewhere. "The first aid kit is over there." He said, finally giving in.

I hastily rose up from my seat and went on to get the first aid kit before his wounds worsen. I found it and made my way back to the couches and placed the first aid kit on top of the coffee table besides my things.

"Can you help me with that?" he asked as he pointed at the kit in front of us.

I raised an eyebrow. "Just to remind you, Mr. Perez that I am not you nurse."

He rolled his eyes. "Stop messing around, Aria, just help me already."

I didn't move. No one ever called me by that name except him. And I have never expected him to remember that nickname.

"Hey, stop it, Aria. Just help me." He said as he handed me a cotton ball.

"You have feet, hands, and a mirror, right?"

He groaned. "You basically realize that I got into a fight and my whole body is aching right now, alright?"

I didn't answer back and just grabbed the cotton ball from him. I put medicine on the cotton ball and started to apply it to the wounds.

"You're already old enough to know that starting up a fight isn't gonna make you look tough, Evey." I told him as I put a bit of a pressure to his wounds.

"Oww! Careful Aria. And don't call me Evey! I'm not a girl!"

"Yeah, right." I said sarcastically. "You used to love that nickname."

"Only because you gave it to me."

"Stop it!" I hissed as I placed another pressure on his wounds.

"You're the worst nurse ever!"

I didn't mind his remark and just proceeded in applying medicines to his wounds.

**

"Hey, Aria, thanks..." Cam said as he run up to me.

I turn around and saw him standing there with his hands on his jeans pocket.

"For what?"

"For being with me and for this." He said as he pointed at his bandage-covered wound.

I just rolled my eyes and smiled. "It's nothing." Then I turned around on my heels and started to walk away. When he called out again.

"Hey, Aria!" I turned around to look at him. "Teach me again tomorrow?"

I smiled and nod. "Sure."

Then I proceeded in walking across the street to our house.

Once I was just his tutor, then now I turned into a nurse. What's next?
