12 The Oasis

I looked up at Alex's face she seemed to be a bit upset by one of the supervisors working on the renovations. It had been a week since Alex and I had gotten to the grounds. I had found out a lot in that time one was how much everyone who worked for me hated me they loved my money but the strict time restraints I'd given them had not bought me any favor though it was a good thing that I hadn't used any local construction teams.

My magical Practice was sitting firmly at six hours with the time turner. But if she did join me we didn't spend much time studying magical theory. Though she did take command of our schedule a bit. I think I loved that about Alex. Even though she could be a bit controlling she did it out of my best interest Since I was using the time she inverted my schedule slightly so that the three extra hours would add to my schedule without hurting my natural sleep style. She was a bit like claire in that account except I have the ability to say no whereas claire wore the pants in their relationship.

Speaking of that I always felt that it was kind of wrong how she treated Phil. How every time she mistreats in some small way and gets caught shell says I'm sorry and do the same stuff. Like the incident where she dresses up for the firemen when Phil is passing kidney stones or when she goes to yoga with Gloria and gets felt up by the instructor and then chooses to return or the episode where Phil shows obvious signs of falling into a light depression and she blames him and makes him think that he has caused a deep rift in their marriage.

The first two are worse than the last I know that Phil also liked the girl he was showing the houses to and Phil flirted with the women at the hospital but how is flirting with women at a hospital, where he was completely restricted from going anywhere or doing anything the same as watching your sick spouse in agonizing pain and then deciding you want to look good for his emergency responders or sure Phil was flirting with the African American woman but he didn't touch her. I mean he's the type of guy who won't listen to a soundtrack because he feels like it's cheating because he had his first sexual experience to it. It really messed up that she shows such flakiness when her commitment is put to the test. But I digress.= I"m glad that she got her mom's intelligence but her dad's loyalty.

I learned that when this was a thriving community in the '80s there were a few businesses only one of which hadn't closed down. There was a small restaurant that Mr. Grier had renovated when he had tried to bring back the resort, A boat rental, Fishing supplies/General store, and a library. The Fishing supply store had managed to stay alive by its fingernails all these years from the rare occurrence someone wanted to fish in the nearby lake. Though the man who owned The shop who was actually Mr. Grier's brother-in-law Mr.Rodger was ecstatic to hear that I would buy it off his hands He only made 30,000 thousand a year off it and his brother-in-law took five for rent. He sold it for 100,000 grand. So there will be a store on the grounds, A restaurant a very very 80's bowling lane and An old single-screen movie theater.

There are about 400 people here at all times about 80 of them working on the wall respectively 20 people per construction company, 80 people working on the hospital, 60 on the new warehouse, 70 people working on the barracks, 30 on the shops, 10 working on the solar panels, the rest were updating going through the resort houses getting them on the same circuit for the solar panels to power them there were a few people from the landscaping teams making paths between everything for easy access I'd buy a few golf carts those paths will be important because even though I will definitely have surveillance footage and ward stones to help me know if someones trying to enter it would be could to have a scheduled patrol around the property grounds.

Recruitment was going well I'd been able to go through the personnel files of the security company, I had Pimento do interviews and it's looking like 4 million was a steal I knew that I'd only really get 30-60 I would ask to join but there was a good number of people looking to relocate. The previous CEO was a little bit stingy with his employees and since I'd already made it clear that I was cleaning house anybody who spoke with pimento was looking forward to my offer since I was offering a bit more money than usual security work for what they thought would be a much easier job I mean who wouldn't want to work at a facility in the middle of nowhere that nobody really knew about versus working security for armored trucks.

I knew for such 20 people were already perfect matches for what I was looking If I could just lock down 20 more for security get the 99 squads and their families to have around about 25-50 people. (Terry has 5 with his kids his wife and his brother-in-law. Boyle might be a problem with the Boyle clan but honestly, I think they might be good farm hands so if they end up in the oasis I wouldn't be too angry plus they wouldn't be a threat and try to take over though if one gets bit they all get bit because according to the one true boyle cowardice ran through their veins so he either has 4-20. Santiago has 10. Jake has 3 his mom, dad, and sister. Rosa has 4 plus her dad is machete so that will be a bonus. Hitchcock and Scully would never survive. Holt only his husband and cheddar)

Alex would be getting 6 qualified professors and doctors all with no ties except for Arvin who I was annoyed to find had agreed to join the think tank and maybe a dozen qualified lab techs. I'm scouting 5-10 medical professionals three doctors, a surgeon, a dentist a few nurses. I planned to hire about 20-30 regular people to catalog the warehouse or watch the cafe in the lobby downstairs or the new convenience store I'd bought from Mr.Rodger or the restaurant and bar and finally the library. I could offer them free lodging with four of the houses each of the vacation homes where quite large with 4-6 rooms 2 and a half baths a piece. The regular employees would mostly just get a room the doctors would share one house. That would give 15 houses for anyone who works on the grounds. I will give 5 houses for the 99. The Modern Family gang will only need 3 maybe 2. I will keep 5 houses open for if we need to recruit other than that the barracks will be state of the art and Maybe make the houses merit-based I know the structure will fall apart inside at least a little but even if a few might try to take this place over I mean that's why pimento is here.

The library was also on my checklist for the next month. I need to fill with every bit of entertainment this world had to offer movies/books/video games that had so far been created. I know that doesn't seem necessary with the apocalypse but boredom just lets people focus on their sadness and loss. I need people to have hope for the future plus it will give people the chance to remember what the world was like I mean look at carl from the walking dead. I was planning to throw whatever was left of my money on that.

"Are you listening?" Alex yelled while throwing a pillow at me. I had been deep in thought planning." that guy was so nice to you But every time he talks to me Miss Lady like He put up a five-minute passive-aggressive talking to his team just so that they would know it was me that changed it and then when you asked for it one floor up he said Thank you Mr.swift ill have it changed right away it just makes me so frustrated. Plus you only wanted it that way for a Tv mounted on the other side of the room my way lets us put in a decontamination machine so if there is a tiny spill someone won't die..." She keeps ranting. I know she isn't actually looking for a response or for me to do something she just wants to be heard I doubt she's even that angry at the dude He's just some faceless guy that's a bit of a kiss-ass since his paycheck has 5 to six zeroes on it.

"Well either way we aren't going to be here for the next month so you won't have to even talk to this guy again," I say as I put my hands on her shoulder turning her to me. She looks pretty cute standing next to the rail on the balcony of one of the vacation homes. I would love for this place to be ours though I'm a bit vain to keep it the way it is. I already learnt a lot about expansion magic making Alex's wardstone sack I want here to pe a bit more grand make it so that the key only expansion charm only works that for people keyed to the house but for that i'd need a second Unique ward stone. As I think that I mock myself 'poor me with my super hot Super nerdy Big titty GF with my beautiful grounds' God she looks gorgeous. Plus, when she rants about stupid stuff and her rants usually at least for the last few days end in a very satisfying way (Wink wink).

I tilt her head up with one hand. I lower my face down to meet hers.She melts into it and I;m pushing away the bathing suit. As I do I hear a noise below us. I pull back much to alex's disapproval with the noise she makes into my ear.

"Oh don't stop on my account just turn those juicy booties in this directions." Which makes alex and me both separate. I sigh deeply pimento has been annoying the crap out of me but the last week I think that i have managed to get him fully on my side especially since i told him he can do anything he wants as long as he does the small tasks like going over candidates and he doesn't even question my criteria to work here. I think he thinks that i want people with no families working here to limit chances of corporate espionage especially since the research projects could be worth a lot of money.

Though he has started a few arguments with the construction teams though since I was clear thatPImento will be part of the future force of the grounds they just steered clear off him.

"I could of delayed our flight," Pimento said."for you and the missus Naughty naughty time." He tells us. I sway my hand with a serious expression that said drop it. that gets him to shut it for a second I hand him a tablet with the profiles for the doctors and professor Alex and me had managed to recruit for the facility. It kind of hurt me to see Alexx put more clothes again and i vowed justice against pimento.

OUr flight to Brooklyn was uneventful. alex read a book while leaning on my shoulder ass i studied enchantments but a concealment spell I had reasently learned to change book titles. I was thinking that it would be a great spell to use a base to create an illusion spell though i'd need a long time to learn arithmancy enough to create it way past the time the apocalypse would take to hit but I was started to feel very nervous about the earth ending and it was coming faster and faster. I pretty much learned any and everything from pimento that would help me fool the 99 into joining me especially terry I think i was ready to dive my head in deep.

I fell asleep on top of her on my shoulder after a bit. Still planning how I should handle meeting the 99 stressing about convincing someone I just met.
