Harkin nodded. Pash was amazed as he watched over it. Just minutes before, the men had been quite ready to cut each other down, but now that animosity had faded and they were willing to share a conversation.

"There's something wrong about this," Harkin pointed out. "The Captain knew there was as well. Why else would he send so many men?"

"You have a point," the hunter said. It was more than a point for those men. The Captain's reputation far preceded the man himself. He was not one to overlook anything. "He's never miscalculated anything, not in all my time of being here. He never sends too many and he never sends too few…" a thought struck him and he looked up sharply. "That means this is a mission worthy of ten men… Just what is waiting for us in those swamplands?"
