Ning'er was frozen for a second before she started blushing like crazy. After a minute or so she composed herself and joined her family upstairs. As soon as she arrived upstairs, she saw Shen Fei getting blasted to the other side of the arena, completely unconscious.

"Wha-" She said before a loud eruption of cheers filled the arena. Everyone was cheering for the unknown blonde boy. The boy in question looked up at Ning'er and gave a wave.

Rewinding 2 minutes, Adam walks into the arena. He sees a red-headed boy across from him. Shen Fei has an ugly and arrogant expression on his face.

"Why'd it take you so long to get here? Were you scared?" Shen Fei mocked. The audience cheered at the insult because of his high status rather than the actual contents of the insult.

"No, actually I didn't get much sleep last night." He simply replied. Shen Fei was about to make another mocking remark but the countdown of the announcer interrupted him.

"3,2,1!" The announcer announced. The two launched at each other. Shen Fei launched a punch with all of his power behind it. Adam simply side-stepped it and returned it with the same amount of strength. He fell to the floor, although still conscious.

The audience as well as Shen Fei were completely stunned, everyone present knew that his punch was returned to him. After a second of stunned silence, the crowd erupted into cheers. Shen Fei stood up and without a word used his strongest fire attack.

A massive ball of flames was manifested in the air just above Shen Fei like a spirit bomb. After 15secs of charging, he launched it at Adam.

Once the large ball of flames came within 5m of Adam, he used Ultra Instinct. Although it was only a minor version, it was still completely broken through the use of the system. Ultra-Instinct dodged a certain amount of attacks, it had no care for what scale those attack are.

Adam simply returned a different ball of flames to Shen Fei. Like an idiot, he simply stood there watching the approaching ball of flames in shock. It made contact with him and sent him flying.

At this moment, Ning'er arrived and saw Shen Fei being launched across the stage and the audience sheered louder than their voice boxes should let them.

The sacred family was completely furious, not only did their member get injured, they also lost the chance to get the ability of Adam. Unfortunately, the power bestowal ritual is extremely strict and requires consent, even in the form of a contract or bet. Adam waved at Ning'er who had an extremely shocked expression. Previously, she thought that even for Adam, Shen Fei would be a difficult opponent. Adam spent his time with Ning'er teaching her all about the scroll's contents which were in an ancient language. He had spent the most of his life learning when he wasn't flirting with Mamako after all. Ning'er gradually eased into a hug. Adam kept explaining to her while she buried her face into his shirt.

Knowing what she was doing, he placed the scroll to the side and pulled her tighter into the hug. She took in his scent with a smile on her face and she gradually fell asleep after listening to his heartbeat. Adam pulled her into a princess carry and took her to her room. On his way out he glanced at the old men who now had gloomy expressions while staring daggers at Adam.

"You bastard. You just ruined our chances to tighten our bonds with one of the strongest clans in Japan!" The clan leader yelled. Adam wasn't very surprised.

"Is it worth it? Is it worth losing someone like Ning'er just for insignificant gains like that?" He asked sincerely. This was something that Adam never understood in any life he had lived. Why do people try so hard to gain the favor of people who don't matter? It's not like they'll actually pay you back in any meaningful way, it's the sacred family after all.

"Of course it's worth it! Someone like that bitch is only useful to curry favors!" The clan leader yelled. One of the old men slightly flinched. This was Ning'er's father, although he agreed to almost everything the clan leader said, even most scum would be pissed at someone calling their children names.

Adam simply pulled out a small notepad. On this notepad were names.

He continued to walk out of the ancient mansion and went back home, Mamako looked like she had something important to say after all.

Adam walked through the front door to his house and in the living room sat an attractive orange-haired girl. Next to her was a menacing man in a black suit.

"Who are the guests?" Adam spoke up. Mamako and the menacing man broke their stare-off and looked at Adam who had just entered the door. The orange-haired girl leaped from her seat and lunged a hug towards Adam.

"Adam! It's been so long! Do you remember me?" Adam identified the orange-haired girl as Marika Tachibana. He didn't recall meeting her in the past at all, that is until he realized that he used to talk to a short-orange-haired kid a while back because she was interested in his books. He never realized that he was speaking to Marika.

"Yeah, it's been a while. Too long, in fact." Adam simply replied. He took her back to the living room table where Mamako and the menacing man were sitting. He sat in between the both of them with Marika still latching onto him. He sent a questioning look towards Mamako. She cleared her throat.

"Adam, meet Gen and Marika Tachibana. A couple of years ago I agreed to marry you to Marika and may or may not had forgotten about it until recently." Mamako said. Her eyes away in shame. Adam giggled, this was the most vulnerable he'd seen her outside of the bed.

"Yes. I agreed to marry Maika to this young man. However, could someone tell me why there are so many women living inside this house with Adam being the only male?" Gen asked. It seemed that the previous atmosphere was due to Mamako forgetting rather than the fact that Adam has a harem.

"Ah Yes. I have a harem of many women." Adam answered. He began chewing his apple as he knew he was about to be yelled at. But rather than being yelled at, the menacing old man simply sighed.

"Marika, how do you feel about this?" He asked. Despite his appearance, Gen was quite an understanding fellow. Marika had a large smile on her face.

"I'm fine with it! As long as I can marry him!" She responded. Adam didn't have the system when he first met her so he curently didn't know her affection level, he made a mental note to do it later. Gen sighed.

"Understood. However, if you hurt my daughter physically or emotionally even a small amount I will use all my power to kill you." Gen said with his menacing aura intensifying.

"I wouldn't accept anything less." Adam replied. They shook hands and Gen took his leave.
