8 Epilogue: The Opportunist
I created an avatar inside my throne room on the Life Ascendant, a bioship mashup of my Company copy of the Didact's Forerunner Command Vessel, a fully upgraded Tau'ri BC-304, a Lantean City Ship, and a Necron Doomsday Monolith. A glorious fusion created by my divine will. With the power of the greatest sci-fi factions and my own might as a mastermind aethermorphic biomorphic god, fulfilling all my objectives in this universe became super easy, barely an inconvenience. Forget simply reaching a Type II civilization, I simply needed to scale my current operation to reach Type III, the full harnessing of an entire galaxy's resources.
It's enough to give a man a fat head, but the arrival of the Isekai Genie easily put any seditious thoughts to rest. I may be exist as the fundamental concept of Life, Nature, Evolution, and so much more in this universe, but that just let me more easily perceive how simple it would be for the purple skinned being to snap his fingers and end all the existence I represent, even if I chose to spread my influence across multiple universes.
There's levels to the game, baby. One day, I'll get to the top of the heat.
"That's the right attitude, champ." the Isekai Genie clapped slowly, "You've been setting records and generating value so mad you got the Merchant sweating. I make enough off the royalties from your clones to launch a thousand full retard shonen protagonists and still be in the black. Chef's kiss, playa."
My Patron looked out into the inky blackness of space as he began the next phase of his monologue, "It's so easy to lose yourself in the decadence, in the self indulgent silliness, when the infinite is at your beck and call. Even we Executives, who've been through it all again and again can't help but forget that its operations like this one that keep the games coming round and round. The endless is a lot more finite when you forget what it's built on, and that there are infinite beings just waiting for their chance, for you to be just silly enough, that all the power doesn't matter because it's not being wielded."
Isekai Genie turned to my avatar and smirked, "Not like telling you will matter."
The purple man handed me a small business card and said, "Welcome to the big boy table, champ."
The card, subtle off-white, tasteful thickness with a watermark, bore two words:

Below you will find the build I put together with the points of just a few missions Donnchadh could freely clear by making smart purchases. I didn't go through and neurotically finish each mission to add points to show that basically he could clear the catalog at this point. If anyone is interested, you can take Donnchadh as a Patron by picking the First Contractor Patron on the catalog. He'd be one of the Veteran Contractors like the Advocate, the Defiler, the Sovereign, and the Devourer. The advice he'd give for your build would be to focus on DPS or CC for yourself, then take some missions to build up the other stuff.
Ultimately I just wanted to do a short story about someone power gaming the Waifu Catalog, picking options I'd never seen before, and sticking to a core theme to keep it coherent. I intend this to be a springboard for two more stories in the future, one about one of Donnchadh's clones working for the Merchant, and another where Donnchadh is the patron of a hardcore role player 40k fanboy. It'll be a while before I get to them as I have a substantial backlog of stories to finish over on Webnovel. If you don't like that site and want to read my other stories... you're screwed.
