His smug smirk irritates her, but since she's taught to be a Yamato Nadeshiko by her traditionalist family despite her bloodlust that goes contrary to the image of a perfect ideal Japanese lady, she will pay back with elegance.

"Please forget what's happened, Takashi-kun," Saeko turned to Takashi and told him with a gentle smile.

Yet, Takashi feels a shiver running on his spine. 'Holy shit! Is this a killing intent?!'

"Sure. This will be our little secret," Takashi replied while pretending to be unaffected by her threat.

Saeko just smiles and eyes him for a while. Then, she nods in satisfaction. "I'm glad that you're a reasonable man."

After that, Saeko looks at the rest of the survivors. Shizuka is sitting sleepily behind the steering wheel. On the other hand…

"Everyone is sleeping," Saeko remarked.

"Yeah. Today has been tiring for them."

Saeko turns to Takashi after hearing his reply.

"What about you? Aren't you tired too?"

"I am fine after my small nap. What about you?"

"I am as well." Saeko nods before turning to Shizuka. "However, Marikawa-sensei seems to be tired."

Takashi also turns to Shizuka whose head is nodding sleepily.

After a short consideration, Takashi makes up his mind. "I'll wake up Hayashi-sensei to replace her."

Saeko nods in agreement. "Good idea."

Then, Takashi gets up and heads to Kyoko. He wakes her up, causing her to be irritable. However, she regains her composure when she remembers what's going on.

"What's it?" Kyoko asked while suppressing her irritation.

"Could you replace Marikawa-sensei? She has been staying in the driver's seat for hours now."

Kyoko turns to Shizuka and gazes at her for a few moments before nodding in agreement. Then, she goes to replace the buxom blonde nurse.

Shizuka sends Takashi a grateful nod after leaving the driver's seat. Takashi nods back. Afterward, she sleeps on a seat behind the driver's seat that has been taken over by Kyoko.

Takashi looks around and sees the rest of the survivors are sleeping soundly. He glances at Saeko who's watching outside silently. Then, he approaches Kohta.

The fatty is sleeping on the chair beside Saya. Takashi has to be careful so he won't accidentally wake them up. After he successfully stamps Kohta's forehead, he returns to his seat.

However, he stops when the sounds of gunshots resound. It also wakes up everyone. Even Shizuka who just got shut-eye.

"KYAAA!" Some girls shrieked in fright and covered their heads.

The bolder ones like Saeko, Saya, and Rei turn their heads outside and see where the gunshots came from. Takashi also looks out. They see the police shoot a zombie before overwhelming the other zombies with their guns.

"The situation is getting worse if the police dare to open fire," Saya remarked grimly.

"In any case, it's better if you ignore it and return to sleep. We will have a long day tomorrow. We need to rest and recover more energy for what's to come," Takashi told everyone.

They nod and try to sleep again. It's easier said than done since the gunshots keep them awake.

Takashi returns to his seat.

"Do you want to sleep again? You can use my shoulder if you want," Takashi said to Saeko.

Saeko looks at Takashi with unblinking eyes. It's unknown what she's thinking.
