2 What's Edna?

Adam's consciousness slowly phased into reality as he finally heard her voice,

"wait for me Adam," She said before her voice showed resistance to be taken away.

Adam stared at the clock while waiting for the math class to end. Mr Carter was of Hispanic origins and was an extremely strict and violent teacher. his reputation as a military commander raised fear in the hearts of anyone who had ill intentions, even those stupid punk kids would follow his word rather than getting beaten up.

Mr Carter was a brilliant teacher but even he just wasn't enough to distract him from the vision of his sister being taken away by those weird scientists on the top floors. What if they were experimenting with a drug on her or something worse. Just the thought sent a wave of pain and anxiety up his mind.

1st POV

"Hey adam, you okay?" Carter asked me. I nodded and gave him an empty, fake smile before putting my thoughts aside and began to study. Working out and studying was my escape from remembering that my sister was lost and kidnapped and may soon be killed.

But after some meditation in the train station and contemplate about what to do, I was shocked to see an official talking to the man beside him. I quickly sneaked by and silently stood by while listening to their conversation.

"Did delta inform us of the nexus squad? the official asked the man clad in black. No, not yet. He just told us that Project Edna is on the go, with route type A exodus. Well, this is weird. What was going on? What are the code terms being used." He silently sneaked into their back as he heard" What about L?" The man looked at the black-clothed man who smirked and responded "She wanted us to tell her twin she was alive, so we said we did, she was suspicious but recently became tamer." Adam clenched his fist hard after realising that he was talking about Leslie. 'So she was alive. It's not a dream?.' Adam wanted to run home and tell his mom but she might not believe or she may even trigger her illness, and considering she was a little frail, it was too of a chance that she would scream at the government and get killed.

The bus slowed down as the men were about to go, but he gained one final piece of information "it's only for the strongest willed and one crazy natural-born reflexes, that's the only way that they can get selected. I hope the nexus team has proper training, the mix will make them stronger". Both of them left to the government house entrance. Even though he wanted to follow, he would get caught as that is the only place in the next 500 meters, extending 7 floors in the tower, from 117 to 124 floors. He knew there was no way he could enter because the entryway was nearly impenetrable and from the 120th floor, only Europeans lived there.
