Acquiring the heart of darkness Pt2

Suddenly, a portal opened in front of him. Without thinking twice, he walked into it calmly, assessing how he did and what he could do better if he ever got attacked from the back again. As he stepped through the portal, the familiar feeling of dizziness and disorientation washed over him. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, waiting for the sensation to pass.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the ruins where he had started. The stones were still cracked and overgrown with vines, but the feeling of victory flooded through him. He had completed the trial.

He walked towards the pentagram, his heart racing with anticipation. As he stepped onto the circle, a voice boomed in his mind, "Welcome back, Dante." He looked around but saw no one. The voice continued, "You have shown great strength and resilience. The strength of the trial was based on the strength of the person undergoing it."

Dante stood tall, waiting for his reward. Suddenly, a searing pain shot through his temple and back. He collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony. He could hear the voice chuckling in his mind, "Be not afraid, human. The bloodline switching will now be over."

Dante's body convulsed as the ritual took place. When it was over, he struggled to stand up. He felt different, stronger. He could sense a power within him that he had never felt before.

As he looked up, he saw a figure materializing from the shadows. The being congratulated Dante on his amazing performance and told him that he had proven himself worthy. He then asked Dante to step into the pentagram to receive his rewards.

Dante hesitated for a moment, but he knew there was no turning back now. He stepped onto the pentagram, and the figure began to chant in a language that Dante couldn't understand. The surrounding air crackled with energy, and Dante felt his body change.

When the transformation was complete, Dante opened his eyes and gasped. He was now over seven feet tall, his eyes were glowing red, and he had horns growing out of his head. He was different, but he could feel the power surging through his veins.

The figure smiled at him, revealing a set of razor-sharp teeth. "You are now one of us, Dante. You have earned the title of demon, and you will be one of our strongest warriors."

Dante stared at the figure in disbelief as he kneeled like a loyal knight towards this being, as it was the only reason he ever amounted to anything. Thinking back to it, in his previous timeline he never managed to finish the quest in the given time but the being still gave him some help even though not as much as what he received now it still made him eternally grateful to this god as it was what ended up making him...HIM.

The figure continued, "You will be given access to our knowledge and power. Use it wisely, for you are now one of us."

Dante nodded, still trying to process everything. The figure then turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Dante alone in the ruins.

Looking down at his hands, which now had sharp claws instead of fingers. He flexed them, testing out his newfound strength. He knew that he had a lot to learn about his new form and abilities, but he was ready for the challenge.

As he walked away from the pentagram, he couldn't help but think about his past. The memories of the abuse and mistreatment that he had suffered flooded back to him. But now, he had a new purpose. He was no longer the weak and helpless human that he had once been. He was a demon, and he was ready to take on whatever challenges came his way.

After reminiscing enough, he looked through his status to see how much of a change had occurred.

Looking at the stats and stuff he gained, he became excited, but as he got to the comment section, he laughed sarcastically.

"Whoever writes in the comment section needs a raise. They've got such a good sense of humor," Dante remarked, smiling whilst squinting his eyes in an icy glint.

"I should log out. I'm probably starved by now," Dante thought, thinking about his body in the real world as he realized around almost 30 hours had passed since it last ate.

"I'll be back," Dante said as he vanished.
