36 Who Gave You The Guts?

When Lin Fang ran after them, weird lightning was produced under his feet giving him a far faster speed than normal. Add to that his overpowered class and the two players couldn't even run out of the alley before he caught up to them.

Lin Fang had been reading about the experiences of various people in the 'Lightning Wind Heaven Technique'. Some of them were not related to the fighting skills of the technique at all but taught the basics of how one should always keep a few cards hidden, how to surprise the enemy etc. All of them taught various different methods to get an advantage in a battle in various different ways.

Even though all of them had different methods and ideas about the battle, the one thing that all of them laid emphasis on was to never turn your back to your enemy no matter how weak or strong he is.

Even if you want to escape, either keep one of your eyes behind on the enemy and the other on the road, otherwise, if the gap between the two is not too large, turn around and slowly retreat while fighting the enemy.

This was the difference between the pro-gamers of previous games and this games. In this game, what was important wasn't how good a person can smash buttons, it was more important to have a faster reaction speed with the whole body instead of only hands, real-life fighting experience would work too and so would real-life skills like setting up traps, martial arts(fighting) etc.

Thus these two 'noobs' even though they had good teamwork and a nice control over there class clearly showing that they had played these classes in other games before, weren't much in a real fight.

Since Lin Fang only needed to let the leader live for questioning he didn't need the other one. He pulled out two throwing knives to use as target practice on the players. Lin Fang wasn't satisfied with his previous miss when the dagger instead of hitting the forehead hit the shoulder.

Throwing Dagger (Common)

Stats: None

Abilities: None

Lin Fang had purchased a set of throwing daggers in the weapons district of the underground market, he just didn't expect that he would have to use them so soon. But he needed to know the other party who was targeting him and how they found out about his class abilities, even though he had already made a pretty good guess on the identity of the person. So to get more done with this, he took aim on the person's head who running behind.

As his eyes narrowed in focus, he entered a weird state and his breathing stilled and heartbeat slowed, all thoughts left his mind as only his dagger and its target was left. The blue color in his eyeballs appeared again and grew to completely surround them as he felt his sense grow sharper. If any professional hunter or assassin saw this scene, they would surely be surprised by the level of skill shown by Lin Fang. A pity there was no expert present to appreciate this piece of art.

As the dagger left his hand, Lin Fang felt like all his killer instinct had merged into his dagger as it accelerated towards its target. As he looked at the dagger about to hit its mark, Lin Fang didn't feel happy at all at his achievement, in fact, he felt like apathetic to all his surroundings as if even if the world was to end at this moment, he wouldn't care and have the same lazy expression.

This feeling only lasted until the dagger pierced the person's head. His aim was on point, not even a millimeter of difference from his planned location, something which would have made him cry due to pleasure seemed as easy as cutting a cake at this moment. His eyes slowly returned to his original color as his whole brain felt tired. What was that feeling just now? He thought, why did he feel so cold all of a sudden as if he could slaughter the whole world. His body was completely covered in precipitation as if he had run a few miles.

His thoughts were still confused by his previous state but he didn't have the time to think about it. The leader of that 'wiped out' team had already exited the alley and was moving in the direction of one of the most crowded locations' in the market.

Lin Fang wouldn't allow this so he aimed at that man with another dagger, since his slight delay in coming out of that weird state had allowed this guy to escape far enough that it was now impossible to reach him before he reached the crowded street thus, he could only use his daggers to kill.

Unfortunately, the moment he took aim, his head felt dizzy all of a sudden and his eyes blurred not allowing him to see anything. His head felt like it would burst from the pressure, thus, he let go of the dagger letting it fall to the ground with a clang as he took a few quick breathes to control his terrible condition.

Just what was wrong with him? he asked himself, he didn't know what but something happened to his body just now allowing it to perform above its usual standards, he had felt like he could exceed the limits of what he could do by a major margin but this feeling only lasted for a little while before the weird symptoms set in allowing the last player to escape.

Since the black market was so crowded, it would be near impossible to locate the man, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Even if by chance he did find him, there was no way he could kill him if he was surrounded by people, even the people in this market of criminals were stopped from killing in broad daylight. You could kill in the darkness and no one would care but killing in broad daylight affected business so it wasn't allowed.

Lin Fang was still feeling like he had lifted a whole ton with only his body alone, both using his body and his mind, thus, he decided to log out for now and check his condition before continuing to think about what to do next.

The fact that those people knew about all his abilities was disturbing, to say the least. The only reason he was able to even survive was that he learned to throw knives in a week otherwise it wouldn't have been so easy to live since the enemy seemed to know all his moves including the time 'transformation' was unlocked. Of course, the training wasn't easy at all, he had been practicing every free second he got before his aim reached this still not so perfect stage.

But now, the enemy should also have learned about this, they would surely prepare better plans to exterminate him. He must be in a peak state to fight back and learn about this guy/girl targeting him, he narrowed his eyes as he thought of these people creating trouble for him.

"For now let's log out, I will think about everything else later." He thought but he knew that in his mind, he was just trying to avoid the unspoken truth. He didn't know what he would do if he ever came face to face with it but it would be something crazy, that much, he knew in his heart.

Meanwhile somewhere else in the market...

The player who escaped was sitting behind two-grain drums as he sent back a glance once in a while to check on the pursuer of his. After seeing that he wasn't being chased anymore, he sighed in relief.

"Finally, escaped that dark star. It would surely have been a big loss if I had to start everything again if I had died at his hands.

Then, rage took over his body as remembered his contractor, he angrily contacted the person who hired him. He didn't care about the money used at all, he just wanted to let out his anger on this guy for his whole team dying and maybe even get his hands on a bit of compensation if he could. They should be able to use the compensation money to recover there levels in-game or get some fun in real life depending on whether they got compensation in real cash or game gold. Yes, he was already counting his chickens before they hatched.

The moment the call connected he started accusing the other guy before he could even say anything.

"Oi! How could you supply us with wrong information? That guy wasn't weak at all, he was also able to use long ranged attacks unlike what you showed us. Even his speed was faster than what was shown, I and my team didn't sign up for something like this, you need us to repay us for our damages..."

The man on the other side looked on coldly at this rambling fool. He waited for a while to see if he would finish but the fool kept on talking and talking and talking until he finally couldn't take it anymore.

"SHUT UP", he said impatiently as he looked at his watch. The man immediately shut up after hearing the domineering and cold tone. If Lin Fang was here, he surely wouldn't have been surprised to hear the voice of 'Secretary of the Sun' even if he felt a bit saddened. He was already the leading suspect in his heart and it wasn't hard to guess that it was this guy pulling the strings. Not many people knew the skills of The Demon Wargod and only this guy and his father were looking to take care of him.

"You dare to blame your incompetence on us, we already told you that he should have improved a lot in the past week because he has just gone through an awakening but what did you do. You made plans according to the strength shown in the videos like fools, do you really think it would be this simple. Then you guys like fools charged to your deaths. Didn't you realize that he was far stronger than you all when he killed the rogue in a single move..."

'Secretary of the Sun' listed over ten mistakes the team made during the battle leaving the only surviving member and leader speechless.

"...Even after all this, you still dare to ask for compensation. Humph, who gave you the guts?"

After saying all this Secretary of the Sun cut off the line. He still needed to figure out a way to break this news to the boss and didn't have time for all this crap.
