21 Steal Your Stuff

Greenwood Forest, deep inside a cave

A small rabbit ran past a pile of rocks as two people followed him. Lin Fang and Flame Princess had been in this cave for a while now and it seemed never ending. The cave was wide enough as it had to once hold the massive body of the Greenwood Spirit, the rocks that the cave was made of seemed to be made of a weird material that glowed allowing them to see clearly inside the dark cave.

"Just how much longer?" ,Whined Lin Fang, they had been walking for like forever without reaching the end of this cave. He had already lost his patience a while ago when he accidentally hit a rock and fell to the ground. Flame Princess on the other hand seemed to have endless patience with that smile of hers.

"Just a little while longer master." ,The Greenwood Spirit tried to clam his masters anger as they continued their journey. It had been saying the same thing every time Lin Fang asked him about the distance left. Lin Fang really wanted to kill this useless beast.

But this time, The Greenwood Spirit was telling the truth as he saw light at the other end of the cave in a little while. Seeing the light Lin Fang felt all his tiredness wash away as he imagined the kind of treasures that were buried their. His pace sped up as the greed in his eyes became obvious. Song Ming would of course not give him the chance to get in first as she overtook him in a dash and entered before the master and monster pair.

"No Fair",Lin Fang shouted as he and the rabbit also ran behind her.

It took Lin Fang a moment to adjust to the brightness inside. The second his eyes could see clearly, he excitedly looked around. In his fantasies, he had already imagined an underworld full of various species, rare materials and gold mountains. He was even prepared to be surprised if he found something completely unexpected like those main characters in web novels. In the end he was so terribly surprised that even his mouth was left open as he gaped at the treasure.

Even Flame Princess was terribly shocked by the treasure as she looked at it as if she had lost her soul. She took a deep breathe to calm her emotions before failing and turning to face The Greenwood Spirit with a look that clearly wanted to burn it alive.

All these various reactions happened because The Greenwood Spirits treasure trove wasn't a treasure trove at all. It was a pile of garbage with loads of broken armours and weapons piling up to form a small mountain in this enclosed area. To make matters worse their was only one such pile. Even though Lin Fang only glanced at the mountain briefly before closing his eyes to digest the contrast between reality and dreams and also to control his raging emotions, he couldn't find anything that was complete or slightly damaged.

When Lin Fang opened his eyes he was greeted with the sight of the rabbit's throat being crushed by Flame Princess who still had that smiling expression on her face. It was kind of terrifying.

"WAIT, WAIT, this is not my real treasure."

The Greenwood Spirit shouted in a muffled voice as it tried to save its neck, literally. Its plan did work as the pressure on its neck lowered considerably but Song Ming didn't allow it to escape from her grasp.

She raised her eyebrows clearly indicating for the rabbit to continue talking. Her killing intent also hinted to The Greenwood Spirit that its next words might be its last words as well if he didn't choose them wisely.

"The real treasure is under the pile of trash in a chest, please let me go, it has everything I have, please, please I can't breathe.", It said in a single breathe without stopping. Flame Princess finally loosened her hold on his neck but not the way in which he had imagined.

She tossed him like garbage behind her back as she turned to dig through the garbage.

But a black shadow beat her to it as Lin Fang started tossing broken armour and weapons one after another from the pile looking for the chest with red eyes and drool flowing out of his mouth.

Flame Princess didn't move from her location but her smile grew wider as she looked at the foolish and free labour digging out the treasures for her.

Lin Fang who was blinded by greed of course didn't realise that he was being seen as a garbage clearing labourer and that the treasures he was digging for might not even belong to him at all. He would surely cough up blood if he knew the inner thought of Sing Ming, but of course he couldn't know something like that.

Lin Fang seemed to gain additional strength when digging for treasure because his speed was lighting fast as he threw broken weapons and armour at an impressive pace. By the time he reached the chest, his arms had grown tired but his the glow in his eyes had reached a whole other level.

The Greenwood Spirit must have been sure that no one strong enough to kill him would waste and steal the treasure of a weak monster like him and no one weak wold be able to reach his treasure as he didn't lock the chest. Thus Lin Fang opened the chest before Flame Princess could react to the finding of the chest.

He looked inside the chest excitedly as a notification rang in his ears:

{Player Fallen Angel has opened a rare chest the contents of the chest are:

Meteor (Low Level spell)

Steal Your Stuff(Guide)

Healing Potion

10 Silver coins}

Lin Fang didn't know what to think about these rewards. If you thought that this was a good reward, it was not considering that they had fought against a boss with a level, quite a bit higher than them. But if they thought that it was less, then the stuff in the chest couldn't even be seen without massive pockets and some of it wasn't even in the market as of yet.

Specially the guide, the moment Lin Fang read its description, he wanted to laugh out loud from ecasticy with all his grievances from low rewards being washed away. Guides contained the methods and advice on the way to use certain classes for various levels which even helped noobs to increase their skills.

The guide taught the way of an exemplary rogue with various skills and advice of use of those skill to improve the handling of the rogue class. This was just what Lin Fang was in need of right now. Even though he hadn't read it, it should allow him to step up his game and leave the ranks of total noobs.

Before he could control his emotions, something heavy hit him knocking him out of the way, it was one of the broken armours. He got back up on his feet to see the person who had thrown the armour looked inside herself.

Flame Princess looked at the rewards of the hunt and felt barely satisfied. The profit she made was enough to barely cover her loses during the expedition. The death of so many elite player would surely affect the development of her guild for now.

She was happy to find the low levelled meteor spell the most. This spell as the name suggested would strike the enemy with a meteor form the sky. If it was the peak level meteor spell and was performed by a God, then it was said to have the power to wipe out entire cities. Of course a low levelled spell wouldn't have that much power but it should have enough strength to become her second strongest move after that large fireball.

Just when she was about to keep all of this loot inside, she heard the sound of a sword being drawn from its sheathe behind her. She turned around to find Lin Fang pointing his blade towards her with a serious expression on his face. The fighting intent in his eyes glowed with a dazzling light looking like two brightly burning stars.
