23 Steal The Stuff

Lin Fang in this form looked terrifying. He charged towards Flame Princess like a crazed demon. Song Ming on the other hand seeing him coming towards her didn't panic at all.

Still with that smile on her face, she raised her as she started chanting again.

This time Lin Fangs speed was far faster than before and only the distance of a few meters was left when the fireballs formed on her hand. But this time she didn't release them one by one, but instead fired all of them together.

Lin Fang didn't try to dodge these attacks like last time but instead charged straight forward. He believed that his scales would be able to protect him from a damage done by a low level spell like this.

The fireballs blew up the moment they touched Lin Fang who was running forward at full pace. His prediction of his scales protecting him was only half-right. The scales did protect him from taking any substantial damage but his body felt numb on all the places where her attack hit him. Even though he had to feel the brunt of the attack, he only lost his footing for a little while before he continued his attack.

The smile on Flame Princess's face finally reduced a bit and turned into a straight line as she watched Lin Fang completely ignore her attack. She thought long and hard but couldn't think of a solution. By this point Lin Fang had already bridged the last physical gap between the two of them with his fast speed.

Flame Princess looked at him charging towards her at this pace. The green glow on her body appeared again as she jumped back and her speed becoming too fast for a mage at her level.

Just how was she doing this, he thought. She had done the same thing when she was chasing him and it allowed her to catch up to him pretty quickly. The green glow surrounding her disappeared after a few seconds but the distance between them had increased.

Lin Fang charged towards her again but the moment when he was about to reach her, the green glow appeared again and again she increased the gap. Now Lin Fang felt anxious, he looked at the timer counting down for his Transformation to end. Her 'speed bursts' seemed endless. He had to come up with a plan and quick. If he couldn't finish this in the time next 4 minutes and 30 seconds, then he would nothing better than a sitting duck waiting to be slaughtered due to his weakened state.

He thought back to the battle with the Greenwood Spirit. The Greenwood Spirit had struck her with those rocks and she had been knocked to the ground before he had to go and help her. He felt that she should have been able to dodge that move as well if she was able to dodge his speed right now. Even though the Greenwood Spirit had been terribly injured when he awakened making it easier for them to kill, his speed right now was only a level or so slower than his when he pinned her to the ground.

So why didn't she try anything at all at that moment when The Greenwood Spirit suddenly attacked. She was the top player after all, she should have done something unless...

Lin Fang's eyes flashed with a weird light, her ability must have some kind of weakness. He thought about the difference in his and The Greenwood Spirits method.

All of his thoughts take awhile to explain but he thought of all this in the time Flame Princess increased the gap between them the 2nd time and got ready for his next move. It was clear that she was trying to have a battle of attrition. What will last longer, his ability or hers?

Suddenly he smiled as an idea struck him, why did he even need to fight her in the first place. He was clearly far stronger than her and the only reason she could survive for this long against him was because she had that weird power.

As he saw Flame Princess take on a stance that clearly said that she would escape immediately using that green energy or whatever that was, Lin Fang again did something unexpected. Instead of charging at her, he turned around and ran to the chest in front of Flame Princess's dumbfounded gaze.

With a flash, he kept all the items in the Chest in his storage as he turned to escape the cave laughing loudly. It took Flame Princess a moment to realise what had happened and wake up but it was too late.

"YOU", She screamed, once again losing her smile as she felt like coughing up blood. She couldn't believe that Lin Fang would do something this shameless, where was his honour as a warrior, what in hell happened to his fighting spirit huh. What she didn't know was that the whole reason for Lin Fang to challenging her to the deal was 99% riches and 1% her favour of giving him that enlightenment.

By the time she began her chase, Lin Fang had already reached the exit of the small cave. He stopped for a moment as he left something over there and ran away quickly through the exit.

Flame Princess stopped at a safe distance from the item and scanned it vigilantly with her eyes. After making sure that it wasn't anything that had the ability to harm her, she ran forward and quickly glanced at it. She didn't want to waste too much time as she still had to chase Lin Fang.

Even though she knew that she wouldn't be able to keep up with his Transformed state, she didn't want to give up without trying.

But the glance at the items left her dumbfounded. Lin Fang had left behind the meteor spell and 5 silver coins. His generosity surprised Song Ming as she thought of her next plan of action. She wanted to give chase because if the items he stole from her. The spell was the thing that was most important to her but she already had it in her hand.

The rest of the items may have been pretty good but at the end of the day, only the healing potion would have come in handy but she could get it from the village(even though it will be expensive) so she didn't have to chase him for it. While Steal your stuff was an important guide for rogues, it was only useful for lower skilled players, the experts didn't need it so it wasn't that important to her.

"Humph, I well let you go this time Demon WarGod. Don't ever let me see you face again otherwise..."

She decide to let him go, but his last few actions had already awarded him a place in her will die list. If Lin Fang knew that she still planned to kill him after his 'peace offering' ,he would surely have a wonderful expression.

Meanwhile deep inside one of the caves. Lin Fang laid on the ground weakly as the rabbit guarded him. The transformation had already ended and the side effects had acted up. He could barely even move his body now so he decided that it was best to lay down and wait for his body to recover to its peak before continuing forward.

He wasn't worried that Flame Princess would mess with him anymore. Firstly, he did leave the magic behind which wasn't useful to him in anyway, he also left some of the silver for her which was a very painful decision for him but he didn't hesitate to bribe that demon to save his life. Secondly, even if she still wanted to hunt him down, she wouldn't be able to find him easily because he had the help of the Greenwood Spirit who knew these caves like the back of his hand in finding this hiding spot.

As he laid on the ground weakly, he decide to use his time in doing something productive as he pulled out the guide 'Steal your Stuff' and began reading.
