35 Slaughter

"Sir, this way, this is the weapons district, many people come here to enjoy gambling on weapons. Some of them have even struck it rich by buying a good weapon at a cheap price. As for that area that is the..."

A boy walking in front of Lin Fang explained the various details of the surrounding areas. Lin Fang had hired him to show him around the market as it would be a pain in the ass to locate everything himself.

The boy had also explained to him, the two rules of the market. The first one was, that once you purchase something, you cannot ask the seller to take it back and second, the strength of all people entering the market must be strong enough to block or dodge the attack of the guard outside putting the level base inside the market at around level 3.

The boy had already shown Lin Fang, the various important locations in the market in the past half an hour. This had allowed Lin Fang to get a rough idea about the size of the market. It was nearly as big as 4-5 districts of the city. He wondered how it was hidden so well from the rest of the city that it could only be reached by those stairs.

As he was glancing through the weapons his gaze stopped at one of them and disbelief flashed in his eyes. There on the ground laid the twisted blackie which he had thrown away after that battle. He was bored anyway after seeing everything there was to see so he walked up to the shopkeeper who was selling it and asked, "How much for that weapon?"

The shopkeeper looking at the broken sword smiled widely and replied to Lin Fang, "Ten Silver"

Lin Fang wasn't planning to buy the sword anyway, he was just asking the price out of curiosity. But the moment he heard the price, he nearly coughed up blood. Ten silver my ass, this thing wasn't even worth a copper, who gave you the guts to ask for this price.

Looking at the complete disbelief on Lin Fang's face the shopkeeper looked around as if checking if anyone was eavesdropping and quietly said, "Sir, this is a weapon from ancient times, it was originally used for slaughtering demon kings but now...", He looked towards the sword in pity and continued, "...it was sealed by those evil creatures and turned into this."

The more he spoke, the more Lin Fang felt like fainting, where was all this crap coming from.

"So you see, if you could break that seal, you will get one of the strongest weapons on the continent, this is clearly a bargain."

All Lin Fang could see was the starts in the air. What bargain? This guy was clearly selling sh*t but advertising it as gold. Who in their right mind would even believe this person's lies?

Lin Fang decided that it was best to maintain distance from this kind of people and turned around to leave, his steps were fast as if he was afraid of the shopkeeper.

"Stop, alright I will give you for 5 silver, no even 1 will do..."

The more he screamed the faster Lin Fang ran. When he was at a safe distance and couldn't see the shopkeeper anymore he sighed in relief. He could feel his IQ falling by just being in the presence of that man.

In his hurry to leave, he had accidentally ditched the boy behind. Since Lin Fang wasn't planning to return again, he just let it be, he already knew everything he needed to know about the market anyway so it wasn't a problem.

As he walked around the market looking bored, the voice of the Greenwood Spirit came into his ears.

"Master, some people have been following us for a while."

Surprise flashed in Lin Fang's eyes but his expression didn't change. He kept looking around with his bored expression but this time he paid more attention to his surroundings.

Four, no five people, he counted as he continued forward walking, it was a weird feeling, he could feel the gazes of this people as if he had eyes on his back. Slowly, he moved towards the less crowded streets, he soon reached a deserted alley and stopped there looking straight ahead.

"You guys can come out now.", he shouted. There was no movement behind him for a few seconds before he heard rustling sounds. He turned around and looked at the four people standing there, his expression was covered by a mask so they couldn't see what it looked like but all of them had sinister smiles on there faces.

"Why are you following me?", he asked, his voice not revealing any of his emotions, even his eyes were looking at them emotionlessly as if looking at dead men.

Some of them felt the pressure of his gaze as cold sweat appeared on their backs. But thinking about all the videos they had seen of him fighting, he shouldn't be a match for them as he only knew how to use brute force so they calmed down and smiled evilly at him.

"Brat! you shouldn't have messed with people you can't handle.", the guy in the center shouted at him as he sneered.

Lin Fang seemed like he was about to answer but he suddenly jumped back. His body hit something invisible and came to a standstill but the person behind fell to the ground. Something flashed in Lin Fang's hand as it slid across the rogue's throat leaving him dead on the ground.

None of the people present saw how their companion died. Lin Fang once again looked at them with his expressionless gaze. This time, they truly felt that his gaze was looking at them like a lion looking at its prey, only one thought rang in their minds as they looked at Lin Fang, strong.

If it was a few days ago, Lin Fang surely wouldn't be a match for these guys. But in the last few days, he had gone through a metamorphosis, he was like a beautiful butterfly that had broken through its pupa and soared into the sky.

Even though he still didn't know, how that ability of Song Ming worked, he shouldn't be at a disadvantage right now that he had greatly improved in all areas, he might even hold the initiative if he could just learn what that green light surrounding her was.

Meanwhile, the four guys who seemed terrified suddenly charged towards Lin Fang at the same time, they were taking advantage of his slight daze. The three who were ahead raised his sword to attack while the last one fell behind as he raised his hands and started casting magic. (Not every magician is rich enough to own a staff)

Looking at this scene, Lin Fang couldn't help but feel excited as the blood in his body boiled for a fight. But he didn't lose his mind completely, he calmed his roaring heart to access the situation in front.

The most troublesome would surely be the mage behind them so this guy was his first target. He charged towards the three men with swords as he drew two daggers from his belt. When he and the group of three were just about to meet, Lin Fang suddenly disappeared in front of their eyes and appeared behind them.

The four didn't panic at all, the magician jumped back as the two on the left and right flank moved to surround Lin Fang and trap him in the middle.

What surprised Lin Fang was that these people didn't seem shocked at all by his ability at all, it felt like they already knew about his teleportation, in fact, it seemed like they even hoped that he would use it. Who? he thought in his heart as his eyes narrowed.

Looking at the people surrounding him and the magician who was just finishing the casting of the spell, Lin Fang sneered, if it was a few days ago, he would surely die in this situation, but now...

Lin Fang kept one of his eyes on the magician as he used the other one to look at the three warriors trying to maintain their distance and use long ranged spells to defeat him. He had recognized the spell immediately when he had started casting it, it was the most common fireball spell.

The moment the magician finished the spell a small fireball appeared in his hand, he was concentrating a lot as he didn't have a staff on him. Lin Fang was actually impressed by the guy's skill, if it was an average player, they would take over three minutes to cast the same spell he cast in fifteen seconds, a pity that Lin Fang was waiting for this moment to act.

The second the spell formed, his hand flashed as he threw a flying dagger towards his forehead, the three warriors couldn't react in time and missed the dagger completely, what was all this about? they thought, they had never heard or seen anything about flying daggers or any long ranged ability for that matter, this is why by the time they reacted the dagger was already in the magician's shoulder. Lin Fang's aim still wasn't perfect as of yet.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH", he screamed as he covered his bleeding and pierced shoulder with his hands. His concentration had been lost and the spell vanished. Magicians were one of the most fragile classes of them all and easily took massive damage, of course, players like Flame Princess were a rarity. Not many could control a mage avatar half as good as someone like her thus, it was pretty easy for Lin Fang to break his spell with his surprise attack. This wouldn't have been possible if these guys protecting the mage and blocking his exit had been watching out for long ranged attacks. So, his attack surprised the enemy party to a standstill as they stood there frozen.

But Lin Fang hadn't stopped, the moment he threw the dagger his legs seemed to produce electricity with the ground as he moved with a speed so high that it seemed like he was teleporting towards the leftmost player who was the most disturbed and distracted by the sudden action.

Before the player could realize what had happened, he was already sent to the respawn point by a clean cut across his neck. Unfortunately, the other two players had already woken up from the slight daze due to his first attack and started running after realizing that the target was not as weak as originally believed and with more than half of the members lost, they had no chance of victory.

It was not that they were weak, their enemy just seemed too strong. Their group had taken many paid jobs for various tasks before in other games and it wasn't there first time meeting someone stronger than them, it was just that the game was too real making them feel more fear than they had felt in any other game.

"Where do you think you two are going, you still haven't answered my question.", He smiled evilly at their reaction. The two who had started running felt a chill down there spine as they started running even faster than before. They, like terrible teammates that they were, left the injured mage who was on his knees behind.

Lin Fang ran after them, his speed clearly greater than the two. When he passed by the mage, he didn't stop running but his dagger slid across his throat sending him to the respawn point as well.

Lin Fang was still in a growth spurt period after his awakening thus his strength, brain power, and bodily function would continue to improve at an exceeding rate for a little while longer.

"I had just wanted to find a target and see how much I have improved in the last week, these people are perfect." , he thought. He himself didn't notice his changing personality from the carefree one to a serious type in the last week. Nor did he notice the azure color that flashed through his black eyes when he smiled.
