42 Heavenly Daggers' Epic Adventure(Part 1)

(Author: I know some of you might treat this chapter like a filler but I assure you that this chapter is very important. So important that if rated in spirit stones, I would give it a cost of 25. Thus, I ask you all to read it carefully and maybe find the important points in advance, I dare you to guess why this chapter is important and PS, it is not important from a comedy or social standpoint, it has an important future plot development hint. ;)

The more Heavenly Dagger heard, the more the admiration grew in his eyes as he looked at Lin Fang. When Lin Fang finished telling his idea, he even clapped his hands saying, "Amazing, I could never have come up with something like this."

"Alright, Alright, stop with your praise, since you want to join me, I have somethings I need your help with." , even though, Lin Fang said this, he couldn't help but feel a bit happy inside due to the praise. The man with the eighth grader syndrome has a sweet tongue, he thought in his heart.

When Lin Fang finished explaining his role in the plan, Heavenly Dagger thought about it for a while before nodding with that silly smile on his face.

"Okay, since you understand everything lets get to work.", Lin Fang said as he got up, ready to make his move, with the help of Heavenly Dagger, it shouldn't be much trouble in the initial part of the plan.

Heavenly Dagger nodded his head quickly and he looked so happy as if nothing in this world could hamper his evergreen smile.

The two left the restaurant and since they were short on time, they used the same method as Lin Fang was using before, running over roofs.

As they made their journey towards the Southern Academy Heavenly Dagger suddenly spoke, "Hey Fallen Angel, wanna hear my story?"

His question came out of nowhere and surprised Lin Fang. People usually didn't talk about there real lives in-game unless they were talking to people they already knew in the real world or truly good friends they had made while playing the game.

"Why?" , he asked Heavenly Dagger.

"Nothing, I just felt like telling you the main reason I decided to take up this quest?" He replied.

Lin Fang realized that he had been jumping to conclusions, this guy wasn't talking about his real life but about the quest. He nodded his head giving him the hint to continue.

"It was a funny thing really, I had been messing around in the forest when I accidentally fell down a small creek knocking my self-unconscious." He said with a smile on his face.

Lin Fang looked at the man like he was an idiot. This guy was a real fool with amazing luck. Lin Fang already guessed what would happen next and sure enough...

"When I woke up I found myself in a cave with a massive formation under me and a hole in the wall. Since I couldn't find any exit or where I even entered from, I followed the route through the hole which lead me to a tomb of sorts.

Inside, there were hundreds of coffins of various shapes and sizes. That stuff really scared the shit out of me. It was all gloomy and dark making me feel all uncomfortable. Just when I was about to start exploring the place, I saw one of the coffins move. It was the one in the absolute center sitting on a tall structure, it even had weird designs on it giving it a royal outlook."

Heaven Dagger even made sounds of the coffin shaking with his mouth to give a better and lively feel to the story of his.

"The coffin lid suddenly shook and it opened and out came...", he gave a slight gap to build up suspense, "... A well-dressed man."

Lin Fang tripped at his words and almost fell to the ground if not for his quick reaction, he had been expecting a mummy, even a zombie wouldn't have surprised him but a man and a well-dressed one at that too. Life was full of unexpected turns he thought as his lips twitched. Now that he thought about it, meeting this weirdo and bringing him was also something unexpected.

"The guy was very straightforward and calm, nothing like those violent dem-", he stopped when he realized that he was talking to one of those 'violent' demons, "- well anyway, the man gave me a simple deal, do his race a favour and they would take me in"

Lin Fang thought that this was the end of the story but Heavenly Daggers next words managed to surprise him again.

"I refused him"

Lin Fang would never have thought that a simple story of getting a quest would have plot twists like unexpectedly falling down into a cave that gave a mountain of gold like quest or refusing the NPC who gave the quest. He waited for Heavenly Dagger to continue, Lin Fang was completely hooked to the story.

"I originally didn't have any ambitions in the game, I was playing this thing for fun and I might even have forgotten about this game in a few days so something like this wasn't really worth my time as I get bored easily. The NPC was disappointed but he didn't do anything to me. He told me that if I ever changed my mind, then I should go see him there."

"Your mind changed rather quickly.", Interrupted Lin Fang, the game had only been online for a week, how long did it take to change his mind, a day or two wasn't that a bit too fast.

Heavenly Dagger coughed awkwardly as he said with an embarrassed expression on his face, "It actually took me a bit over an hour to change my mind."

Heavenly Dagger was once again looked at like he was an idiot. Lin Fang even thought of leaving this guy after seeing that he changed his heart so quickly. What if he suddenly had an epiphany in the middle of the plan that he didn't like Lin Fang, wouldn't the plan fail with Lin Fang dying a gruesome death?

"Well actually, I changed my mind because of a person who crossed my path.", Totally unaware of Lin Fang's thoughts, Heavenly Dagger continued the tale of his epic adventure. Lin Fang was deep in his thoughts to notice the red blush rising up on his companions face.

"The moment I first saw her, I felt like my soul had left my body, her perfect smile, her beautiful nose, her long hair, I wanted to take her back home and hide her inside, never to let out of my sight. It was love at first sight.", Heavenly Dagger had a distant expression on his face as he looked into the distance remembering a happy memory.

It took Lin Fang a moment to adjust to the sudden plot development. A transition from an adventurous tale of a low IQ hero to a romance, the change was too much for Lin Fang to bear in a short while. Heavenly Dagger, he thought in his heart, wasn't the definition of love a bit wrong over here, it sounded like a big uncle checking out a small young innocent girl and then kidnapping her to...

Please, control Lin Fang advised himself and Heavenly Dagger in his mind as he tried to stop his wild imagination.

But Heavenly Dagger couldn't listen to his unspoken advice as he continued as a depressed expression took over his always sunny face, "Unfortunately, the moment I confessed my undying love for her, she beat me into a pulp and left me there to die."

Lin Fang sighed in relief after he heard what had happened. He didn't know what he would think about this new found friend of his if he actually did what he was thinking.

"But I wasn't one to back down easily. Thus, I came up with three plans to impress her. The first one was that I walk up to her and say", Heavenly Dagger used his hands and a slick smile appeared on his face as he acted what he would do or has already done, "Hey, how you doing? How could a gentle and meek lady like you walk in the wild unguarded? How about this gentleman protect you for the time being or if you want, your whole life."

Lin Fang almost coughed up blood as his actions as he felt pity for the girl this guy fell in love with.

"The second one", Heavenly Dagger continued with his 'slick' smile," Hey, how you doing? The moment I made eye contact with you babe, I felt the temperature of the whole forest rise up. That's how hot you are."

Lin Fang pulled out the menu to see if he could contact the game police. He couldn't wait for this guy to commit a crime, he had to be stopped before he did something that the would have him banned from the game.

"The third one", Heavenly Dagger had a different expression this time on his face, he rubbed his eyes to pull tears out of them as he shouted, "You have to take responsibility for stealing my stuff. What did you steal you ask? Of course, it is my heart."

After acting out the three options while running Heavenly Dagger spoke, "And finally after much deliberation, the one I chose was-"

"Wait, let me guess.", Before he could finish, Lin Fang cut him off.
