49 Curse of The Blue Moon

Heavenly Dagger was ready to die. In fact, he had already decided that he would kill as many enemies as he could before they could take him down. But he never thought that the enemy would play at safe and slowly press them into a corner to surround and kill them instead of a chaotic attack.

This showed how much the enemy cared about his troops and didn't turn his soldiers into cannon fodder for short-term gains. Even though Meng Liu was his enemy, Heavenly Dagger couldn't help but feel that he was a good commander. But, the feeling of helplessness surrounded him as thought about how he couldn't even kill anyone and took another glance at the soldiers who were still slowly surrounding them.

The shields of these soldiers had sharp spikes in the front and above which made it impossible for the enemy to use the shields as leverages to attack them. The soldiers walked shoulder to shoulder leaving no gap in the middle and even the sides of the formation were protected by soldiers holding their shields to the left and right. Thus, breaking it was only possible by attacking and creating a gap in the shields forcefully but the moment they came close, the other soldiers on the flanks would surround them and with the help of the spears, pierce them to death before they could do any damage.

All this didn't mean that Heavenly Dagger had given up hope, it just showed how helpless he felt in front of such a meticulous enemy. If this was the real world, he thought, he would surely be able to easily escape but unfortunately, his martial true aura was restricted in the Virtual world.

While Heavenly Dagger was feeling helpless, many thoughts were quickly flashing through Lin Fang's mind. Neither Heavenly Dagger nor Lin Fang was planning to give up easily, the difference was that one of them was thinking of killing as many as he could before dying valiantly, the other one was thinking about escaping from the castle.

His transformation was truly not enough for them to escape with there lives. As he looked at the distance between them and the gate, various plans flashed through his mind as he eliminated them one by one to find the one which was feasible and not dependent upon luck.

He was thinking too hard to realize that his eyes had a dim blue light in them which was slowly covering his eyeballs. It might have been his misconception but his brain seemed to be moving faster and faster as the world around him seemed to become a random cloud of numbers. Everything was made of huge piles of data, he had to find the one which allowed him a chance, no matter how slight to win against these terrible odds.

While Lin Fang's body was going through changes he didn't realize it. But this didn't mean that the people in the surroundings didn't. The first to notice his changes were Heavenly Dagger and Meng Liu as there preception was the highest. They felt that there was a weird atmosphere setting in around them. The two took a quick look in the surroundings before noticing the two blue glows under Lin Fang's cloak. Lin Fang's eyes were glowing like two beautiful sapphire's.

Lin Fang's thoughts turned into a mush as all feelings left his mind, what was left was only the target in mind, the gate. Heavenly Dagger's eyes flashed with a weird light as he looked at Lin Fang, he seemed to notice the change but didn't say or do anything. Not enough to make it out of here alive, he thought in his mind even though he was shaken inside. Heavenly Dagger seemed to know something about this situation of Lin Fang's but he felt that it wouldn't be able to save them.

So this was it, Heavenly Dagger thought in his heart as he sighed. Since he met Lin Fang, he had realized that something was different about him but he could not understand what. Now he knew, he was a member of that clan. His body shuddered as he thought of something terrible.

"What are you?", Meng Liu's question brought Heavenly Dagger back from his trance as he looked at these soldiers with pity in their eyes. He had heard of people like Lin Fang, even though he felt like Lin Fang wouldn't be able to escape, quite a few of them will die. This was the curse of the blue moon, the curse of slaughter.

Lin Fang seemed to have read his thoughts as he ran forward towards the middle of the formation. His speed was slower than before but his stride had something else as well, it was elegance.

Looking at Lin Fang ignoring his question and charging forward instead, Meng Liu was feeling infuriated but when he looked at those blue eyes, he didn't know why but he felt like something bad was about to happen.

The moment Lin Fang reached the middle, like last time the guards on his two flanks ran forward to surround him. Since the huge shields protected them, he couldn't even see a figure of the guards but his expression under the cloak didn't change. It was a lazy kind of expression as if everything was under his control.

He leaped forward and kept his hand on the top edge of the shield to jump over it. His feet hit the face of the guard on the other side knocking him over. His right palm was covered in blood as he stood there calmly not feeling any pain. The guys from this clan are all lunatic's, thought Heavenly Dagger as he looked at this scene and shook his head. He was not planning on interfering at all, he didn't want the eyes of this hungry demon to land on him as well. Heavenly Dagger entered stealth as he prepared to follow Lin Fang, a gap was created when in the formation when Lin Fang knocked out that soldier thus Heavenly Dagger smoothly entered the formation. Everyone would be busy targeting Lin Fang so no one should notice him.

The moment Lin Fang landed, a massacre began. He waved his injured hand and three daggers hit the surrounding guards in the middle of their forehead taking their lives before any of the other guards or even Meng Liu could react. They had never expected this guy to be so ruthless to himself as to jump over into the middle of enemies with an injured hand.

"DEMON', screamed Meng Liu the marker appeared above Lin Fang's head, his eyes turned red as he looked at Lin Fang wanting to devour him whole. His scream seemed to wake up the surrounding guards who charged towards Lin Fang. All of this entered Lin Fang's eyes but his facial expression remained the same as he counterattacked.

Since he had killed the surrounding guards, he had enough time to pull out two daggers at the same time before the surrounding spears reached him. He used the edges of the throwing daggers to deflect the spears as he twirled. His deflect chipped off the edges of the daggers since they were of weaker quality.

Lin Fang jumped back and entered the transformed state before the second attack could reach him. His muscles bulged a bit as they got a silver sheen to them as the mysterious shadow appeared and merged with him. but this time something was different, his eyes didn't turn red but remained blue making him look more mysterious and intelligent than a brute with strength.

The effect of the blue eyes and the transformed state wasn't additive, it was multiplicative. No soldier could stop Lin Fang's advance as he moved forward rapidly. Any soldier that dared to block his path was either killed or thrown to the side.

During the whole battle, Lin Fang didn't lose sight of his goal at all as he charged forward. Even though Lin Fang was transformed and all, this didn't mean he was invincible. The number of attackers surrounding him was too much, so much so that by the time he killed his way, to about twenty meters from the gate, his body was covered in wounds. There were scratches everywhere on his silver scales as he stood there breathing heavily. If it was a normal transformation, Lin Fang would have felt a pain everywhere on his body and would barely be able to move leading to a sure death. But now, with the help of the blue eyes, his body didn't feel any pain at all as he attacked with everything. Even though his body was about to reach its breaking point, his mind was still clear.

The soldiers or whatever was left of them surrounded him quickly but didn't approach him. Not out of fear of death, no, it was because their commander Meng Liu was standing in front looking at Lin Fang with red eyes. He had seen enough deaths today. He was finally about to make a move.

"How dare you kill my brothers?", he shouted as he raised his spear and charged towards the terribly injured but transformed Lin Fang. He wanted revenge for his dead brothers, he wanted Lin Fang's head.
