Screams like this once again appeared in the city as the Blood Devil Body Formation started working. The people in the city started to feel their body aging as their life was stolen from them. The first to be affected were the old men and women who died almost at the same moment the formation was activated while others slowly felt their body aging at an astonishing rate. Since this formation was spread out across the whole city, its effects were greatly reduced compared to the smaller trigger formation.

While the old die instantly, it would take roughly an hour for someone in his mid-twenties to die and longer for anyone who had a high level or any level greater than 0 for that matter(Level 0 is for normal humans).

This should have been ample time for the strong ones to escape but unfortunately, Ruth Wakado had already predicted this and the bridges around the city broke at the same time while the airspace was covered in red lightning clouds stopping any person or demon either with feet or wings from escaping. In other words, it was a perfect net that was near impossible to escape.

Many of the people in the city felt despair as they realized that they were like pigs in a cage waiting to be slaughtered. What was worse was that they could feel their own life slowly leaving them. The demons too were feeling panicked when they realized that their situation was the same as the humans, even though due to their tougher bodies and stronger Life Force, they would be able to live for a little longer than normal humans, they would still meet a terrible end not too long after.

The demons were unwilling to accept the situation as some of them roared at the sky and going berserk trying to exit the city or vent their anger on others. The city had turned into a big mess, even bigger than the one it had become when the demons initially broke through.

Meanwhile above the city,

"Don't you understand you stubborn fool, its useless, no matter how you try, you cannot harm me, nor can you stop the ritual from happening.", Ruth Wakado said with a mocking expression on his face as he looked at the panting Ice King in front of him while shaking his head.

The Ice King had an expression full of rage on his face but mixed in that rage was a hint of bitterness and helplessness. He had used Armitaha to attack this guy who knows how many times and yet every single attack had passed straight through Ruth Wakado's body making even angrier than before.

"Don't worry Ice King the moment I get my body back, I am going to cut you into little-little pieces and feed the fishes with your skin while I eat your organs.", Ruth Wakado laughed like a maniac as he looked at the helpless Ice King. All of his plans, all of his scheming, his wait, everything leading up to this moment and looking at the massive formation below and feeling the vitality in his body, Ruth Wakado couldn't help but feel ecstatic. It was worth it, he thought.

Everything was going exactly as that man had said, he thought. Meanwhile, Ice King had started trying to control his rage to find a method of stopping this tragedy from happening. As he was thinking about how to stop this formation, an image of a young demon came into his mind. Thinking about him, Ice King couldn't help but feel a few complicated emotions in his heart. He was a good seedling but was he up to the task, besides he had saved Ice King from that eternal seal so even though he had given Lin Fang a reward, Ice King still felt that he had gotten the better end of the bargain.

As his thoughts reached this point, Ice King couldn't help but harden his emotions, he had no choice, he had to ask Lin Fang to stop the core of the formation since Ruth Wakado would surely stop him if he made any suspicious moves. Though Ice King couldn't even touch Ruth Wakado, the same couldn't be said the other way round. The only reason Ruth Wakado was wasting time was for the ritual to end and him to reach a whole new level of power so that he could enjoy the feeling of crushing Ice King like an ant.

"People say that demons are the true monsters but compared to you, my kind might as well be angels.", Ice King said as he raised his hammer trying to get Ruth Wakado's attention as he sent a spiritual message down to all the demons and humans alike in the city. Though he had thought to give this mission to Lin Fang, he knew the saying 'don't put all your eggs in one basket'. It would be good enough if he could stop Ruth Wakado from increasing his strength and become like that person. The only thing he could sigh in relief about was that since Ruth Wakado was still in his soul form he wouldn't be able to hear the spiritual message nor gain any knowledge about what it was.

The Blood Devil Body formation was a very special formation, it was created by a Demon Emperor in ancient times long before the birth of the Ice King or Ruth Wakado for the purpose of one thing, rebirth. The Demon Emperor wanted to achieve a higher realm in his lifetime but his potential had been completely used up and he knew that it was near impossible for him to improve his strength. Thus before he died, he created this formation in a demon city and left behind a part of his soul to activate it.

It was a massive tragedy with the dead being numbered in hundreds of millions due to a large number of demons being small in size, the bodies of the demons in the city had been so many in number and so unwilling to die that after the use of this formation, that area had become one of the most dangerous zones on the whole continent with demigod rank vengeful spirits ruling various areas of the destroyed city. The city came to be known as the Ghost Vengeance City, the third-ranked on the danger zone rankings of the humans and the demons both. Apparently, Vengeful Spirits don't differentiate on the race of the food they are served.

As for the demon emperor, he gained a fleshly body that was ranked second strongest since ancient times. The body came to be known as the Devil Awakening Spirit Body, a body able to fight Gods with its bare fists and hands. His name spread across the world as the Thousand-Handed Devil, the ancestor of one of the seven great clans of the demons, the hundred-handed ones. The Devil Awakening Spirit Body had given him unparalleled talent and power to lord over an era. As for how he died, no one knows, there are no records of his death in any ancient texts. That is why some say that this unparalleled ruler is still lying dormant somewhere waiting for right moment to come back.

Ruth Wakado who for God knows where had gotten his hands on a copy of the Blood Devil Body Formation was trying to forge himself an unstoppable fleshly body. His body obviously won't be as strong as the ancestor of the hundred-handed clan for two reasons, one Greenwood City was far smaller than the ancient Demon city and two, the level base of the people here was too low compared to the city which had many demigods in it. The highest he could do was forge an incomplete Devil Awakening Spirit Body comparable to a low ranked Demigod at most, but this still terrified Ice King who was a low ranked partial Demigod. Ice King like many other demons had only seen the image of the Blood Devil Body Formation in Books only allowing him to recognize it but since the Demon Emperor had gone missing, no one knew anything about this formation as the creator never taught it to anyone, not even his own children. So how did Ruth Wakado get his hands on it? Ice King wondered. He quickly suppressed his thoughts as he tried to find the location of the core to end this fiasco, he would wonder about such details later, if he was able to.

He had to bow his head and ask the weaklings below for help as Ruth Wakado would be able to survive even if Ice King blew himself up since the ritual had already begun, but he would be able to make his soul normal again if he willed it forcing a stalemate between the duo. This made the Ice King very anxious and thus, he asked everyone for their help.

All of his thoughts take time to explain but they actually happened in a flash before he once again charged at Ruth Wakado to keep his focus away from the City and buy the humans and demons inside some much-needed time.

Everyone in the city at this moment received a common message straight into their minds. While everyone was shocked by this, the players received a further shock when the notification for a special event rang in their heads.
