46 Chapter 46 - No Worries Here

Gerald felt a searing pain shooting through every inch of his body as Leon's punch connected with his face. He flew backward and crashed into the dining table with a loud thud, sending shards of broken glass everywhere.

Two of Gerald's burly bodyguards rushed forward to help him, but Ben stepped in their way, blocking them with a menacing look in his eyes. "Back off," he warned gruffly, a deep scowl etched on his forehead.

Panic quickly spread amongst the crowd as Gerald lay slumped on the floor, stunned by the sudden attack. Someone screamed while another one fainted out of fear. People were running around looking for an exit, desperate to find safety.

Gerald roared, "Grab him!"

His two hulking bodyguards advanced toward Leon with menacing strides.

Ben shouted, "No! Leave him alone!" He sprinted forward and tackled both of the men with overwhelming strength, sending them crashing to the floor.

Gerald spat, "Have you lost your mind? I could have you arrested for assault!"

Ben retorted defiantly, "I will not let anyone hurt them."

"Let's go!" said Ben, grabbing Lily's hand and pulling her away.

Leon chased after them, his anger barely contained. He cast a glance back at Gerald and smirked as he remembered how he had punched the boy right in the face.

"That's a lesson for you," He growled menacingly.

Gerald glared hatefully at them as they ran off, his eyes burning with fury. "You'll pay for this!" he shouted, trembling with rage. "I swear to God, I'll make sure that you regret ever crossing me!"

The three of them trudged back to the car, and Alfred started the engine.

Lily felt overwhelmed as she remembered how Gerald humiliated her, and Leon and Ben were pulled into the situation.

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she breathed heavily. "It's my fault," she sobbed, barely able to control her emotions. "I'm sorry, I don't know what to do."

Leon comforted her with a gentle hand on the shoulder while Ben tried his best to offer words of encouragement. "Don't worry, Lily," he said softly. "We'll figure something out."

Ben noticed her distress and spoke up in an attempt to soothe her.

"Lil, it's okay," he said, his voice calm yet firm. "It's not your fault. I should have known that someone like him would have done something like this."

Lily huddled close to Leon, her big brother, trying desperately to control her breathing and fight back the tears.

"It's alright," Leon reassured her in a soft voice.

Lily felt a tiny bit better, but she wasn't sure if anything would make her feel safe again. She knew that Gerald's father was influential in the school where she was attending, and she couldn't imagine what would happen to her in the near future.

Desperately trying to hold back tears, Lily asked herself, "What should I do?"

Meanwhile, she had struggled to get into the school with the help of a scholarship - a long and arduous process. But Ben and Leon had helped meet several other costs while she was studying there.

However, with the current situation, Lily doubted whether their assistance could save her from whatever fate might befall her.

Leon and his family arrived back home, and he waved goodbye to his Uncle as he trudged up the steps, completely exhausted from all the events of the day.

"Lily," he said, "you can rest easy. Your big brother will always be there to save the day."

Lily smiled and made her way into the room. "Thanks, Leon…"

Leon slowly entered his bedroom, still uneasy about the restaurant incident earlier.

The next morning, Leon awoke to the sun shining through the windows of his room. He got out of bed and quickly changed into a shirt.

As he stepped into the living room, Leon spotted his Uncle Ben sitting next to Lily.

He nervously took a seat opposite them and noticed the sorrow in her gaze. Inhaling deeply, Leon asked her, "Lily, what's wrong?"

She sniffled before responding with a trembling voice, "Gerald got me kicked out of school because of what happened to us last night."

His Uncle Ben merely nodded with pursed lips as if he already knew what had happened.

Ben tried to reassure Lily, "Don't worry. We can easily move to another city so that you can attend school there. You're very bright, Lily, it will be effortless for you to find a new school. We can relocate, or you can stay with a boarding house there. We can make this happen."

Lily slowly lifted her head, tears brimming in her eyes. "I've made such a terrible mess of things, and I don't want to be a weight on both of you for too long," she said softly.

Ben shook his head vigorously. He scooted closer to her on the couch and put an arm around her shoulder, speaking gently, "It's going to be alright, Lil. We'll figure this out together."

Leon said firmly, "Uncle Ben, you don't need to take the blame for this! I was the one who hit Gerald first!"

But Ben shook his head. "No, Leon. I'm your guardian here, and it's my responsibility to protect everyone here. I need to own up to this."

Leon's phone started ringing, and he saw Freya's name on the screen. He couldn't help but feel confused as to why she was calling him early in the morning.

"Let me answer the phone," he said to the other and walked away.

"Hello?" Leon said.

"Hey there," Freya replied cheerfully. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I wanted to tell you some good news!"

Leon's eyes lit up with curiosity as he asked, "What news do you have?"

Freya continued with a friendly and cheerful voice. "The Golden Age company has set up a school offering scholarships to anyone interested in taking part in their special program for Immortal Legacy."

Leon raised an eyebrow in interest. "What kind of program is this?"

"It is tailored specifically for junior high school and senior high school students," Freya explained.

"We are looking for volunteers to participate in the training program. It's for some research we did on the Immortal Legacy. Do you think your sister would be interested in this program? We offer scholarships, housing and everything, and this is a school with high standards. You don't need to pay anything. It is all free under my guarantee."

Leon was taken aback by Freya's offer. He was curious and wanted to know more, so he asked, "Do you know something about what happened to my family?" He wondered if Alfred had told her about the previous night's events.

Freya simply gave a small shush and then asked, "So, Leon, can I talk to your sister? I'd like to get to know her better."

"Okay," he said to Freya before walking over to Lily.

He handed Lily the phone and said, "My friend wanted to talk to you," as she eagerly accepted it from him.

"It's exciting news," he said.

Freya then began to explain the news in detail, and as Lily's face grew increasingly illuminated with relief and joy, she couldn't help but stand up.

"Thanks, Leon!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

Leon smiled, nodding in agreement. "Yes! Everything will work out perfectly," he said, his words exuding assurance.

Not long after that, Lily's situation began to improve. With the time limit for Immortal Legacy for Leon lifted, he was able to log in to the game again. Filled with a newfound sense of hope, he powered up his capsule device and entered the device.

He now had a luxurious hotel room complete with all the amenities he needed. However, before he could take advantage of it, he decided to log into his capsule in his room until things improved, at least for today.

"I suppose everything can wait," he thought to himself, "welcome back to Immortal Legacy."
