1 Chapter 1: Game on
The early rising sun shines dimly into a very unkempt room just barely lighting whatever it touches. A young man is laying sprawled out in a decent sized bed with his cover strewn about. His head deeply set into a pillow. On his nightstand by the bed his alarm on his phone slowly starts going off. The alarm gets louder and louder until youd be able to very easily hear it down he hall. The young man groans and sits up his messy brown hair falling down well past his bare shoulders. As the covers fall off his chest he is shown to be quite skinny but in no means weak. He yawns as he reaches over to turn off his alarm almost knocking over his bottle of water. "God I hate waking up so damn early" He grunts out with a slightly deep voice and stretches his arms out as he gets out from the covers. While his upper body may have been seen as weak his legs were no means weak. The way his leg muscles visibly twitched shows he is quick and light on his feet. All he is currently wearing is a simple pair of black gym shorts and a necklace around his neck. He stands up and does some morning workout putting more effort into his upper body. After he finishes his workout he is sweating a decent bit. He grabs a white towel and wipes himself down drying up all the sweat. He takes a look at the date on his phone. "August 8th 2128" As he looks at date date he grins showing off his minorly yellowed teeth slightly. "Hell yes today is the day Elders Ruin finally comes online. I bought the damn game last year expecting it to be ready within a month. But noooo those fucking tech geniuses just had to figure out how to improve their AI. But now it's ready and it wont be much longer. it should be ready around the time I get home from work today. I cant wait to quit that damn job once I start taking in the big bucks from this game" He rants slightly to himself as he starts over to his dresser. His dresser is a deep black with a crimson like red trim of metal on the edges of each drawer. He pulls out his black pants as well as his black shirt and red apron. He quickly throws all of it one while grabbing his work hat and name tag. Before he leaves the room he grabs his phone and wallet. As he heads out of the room he locks his door and leaves the apartment. "Watch out Elder Ruin the Grimm King is coming for you" He chuckles to himself as he starts his way to work.

The sound of a lock being opened resound in the empty apartment as loud as a gunshot. The door opens revealing a slightly worn out but greatly smiling young man coming through the door. As he steps in he shuts the door behind him and takes a deep breath "Ah home sweet fucking home how I've missed you so" He chuckles as he looks around at his livingroom. The livingroom has just enough to be comfortable in it. Such as a medium sized gray clothed couch with a dark oak wood coffee table in front of it. On the wall in front of the couch is a decent sized flat screen T.V. beside that is a large bookshelf containing many many books on the upper half and movies on the lower half. The man walks over and plops down on the couch and looks at his phone. He sees two things once he does one that the time is only 6 PM and two a notification from his bestfriend Tristan. He quickly opens up the notification and sees a message. He opens the message and sees "Hey Alex man I hope you will rethink about joining my guild once the game starts up we could use all the members we can get right now." He sighs and quickly types and sends a swift not fucking happening. He sighs and tosses his phone to the other side of the couch. "Man he can never take no for an answer I already told him I'm not joining any God damn goody goody knights group." Alex gets up from his spot on the couch and heads to his room where he quickly gets back into just his black shorts from earlier that morning. After he finishes getting dressed he claps and rubs his hands together. "Alright the game already launched and it's time to get this party started." He grins and walks over to his desk and boots up the game onto his virtual reality headset. The headset is definitely an older model as it seems a little bit broken down but still works as it should. He lays down on his bed as he puts on the headset and smiles. Across the visor shows a message "Would you like to enter Elders Ruin?" "Yes yes I would" as soon as he says that he closes his eyes and drifts into synchronicity with the game.

Alex opens his eyes and in front of him is a message from the game "Welcome to Elders Ruin player please create a username and select your class" Alex smiles "GrimmKing" "Username is accepted welcome GrimmKing please choose your job" A list of jobs pops up

Berserker
Ranger
Assassin
Cleric
Summoner
Elementalist
As Alex is looking through the jobs none of them necessarily catch his eye. Out of the list only Assassin and Swordsman catch his eye. Just as he is about to make his choice a new message appears "Alert Alert You have been chosen due to your long wait time to have a class of your own specifically made around your personality" As he looks at the message his eyes slowly get wider and wider until they are practically bulging from his eye sockets. He looks at what class he is given and immediately begins to grin and chuckle

Grimm Reaper:
This class is a custom class for one and only one character. This class allows for proficiency in the weapon "Scythe" as well as swords and daggers. This class also allows for the usage of the dark magic "Soul Magic" as well as "Shadow Magic" and "Blood Magic" The player with this class shall also be able to wear heavy armor. The penalty for this class is weakness towards Life magic and Holy magic. Please enjoy this class as it was made just for you by the head programmer.
Alex reads the description many times over just to make sure what he is seeing is true. After some time he presses to accept the class and is sent into a random town named "Blue Moon Village" Alex looks around and sees many people starting to pop up. He rushes off into an alley between to large white brick buildings. Once he gets in the alley he pulls up his status screen

Grimm looks at his stats and sighs not exactly happy with his stats but he knows he can bolster them with proper equipment and levels if done correctly. Fortunately for him he has always been a mastermind when it comes to all things related to gaming. Grimm closes his status screen and opens up his skills, abilities, and equipment pages simultaneously with a mere thought

Grimm looks at all of his skills, abilities, and equipment and instantly becomes quite satisfied. He quickly starts to look around and sees several very similar looking house type buildings making him believe he is in a residential district. Grimm immediately left figuring there wouldn't be much if any good quests for him. He decided it would be a good idea to start in the slums of the village.

Grimm quickly arrived at the slums and immediately felt extremely at ease. His class made him essentially a heavy assassin so the npcs in the slums did not bother picking a fight with him. It was commonly known that Elders Ruin had a highly complex and wonderful AI system in it. All the human npcs acted just as a typical person would.
The slums are a very dark and creepy place to be around. Not only that but they were also incredibly dangerous. It wouldn't be uncommon to get robbed in the slums. Grimm had no worries about that. He immediately set his sights on a hidden bar that he luckily was able to find.

The bar looked very dark and broken down as would be expected in any slum. Although that was only on the outside. Grimm was able to figure this out quite easily due to him spending much of his time in the slums when he was younger. Grimm quickly entered the bar and made his way over to a table in the back. Everything in the bar seemed to be brand new. The floor had very little amounts of mess on it and there was no lighting issues at all. Although the lights were kept dim it still did not hide much of the bar or its patrons. Shortly after Grimm sat down at the table he had previously made his was to a cloaked person made their way over to his table. "You wouldn't happen to be looking for some coin would ye?" The person in the cloak spoke with a feminine voice. While the cloak may have hidden all of the person's appearance it could do nothing to hide the voice. Grimm looked at the cloaked woman and motioned her to sit down. The woman seemed to have nodded and quickly sat down. "I am willing to pay you 15 copper if you kill a certain somebody for me" The woman leaned forward as she said this allowing just a little bit of her face to show. She seemed to have pale skin but that could have been the lighting. Now 15 copper this early on was a great start for Grimm but that didn't mean he would just take that. Grimm smirked as he leaned forward as well. "15 copper is not enough. Make it 25 copper and we will start talking" The woman sucked her teeth a bit but didn't leave. "25 copper is a steep price but it will be worth it. You see I want my ex boyfriend dead. He constantly harasses me but I cant do anything about it because he is much to strong and can easily do whatever he wants to me." Grimm sits back and thinks it over for a second. "Very well give me all the information you have on him and he shall be swiftly dealt with I also ask you pay the cost up front." Grimm spoke in such a manner it could not be refuted at all. The woman nods and slides over a pouch of 25 copper and a file containing any and all information. As soon as Grimm touches the file a message appears from the game. "Will you accept the Uncommon quest Assassination is not cheap" Grimm immediately presses yes. Shortly after he does he grabs the money and puts it in his bag and grabs the file as he stands up. "He shall be dead quite soon." Grimm grins viciously before leaving the bar. Once he steps outside he stops and looks to the sky "It is time for this Reaper to devour its first soul" He chuckles to himself before setting off to his destination.
