Another Level Grind

Deep in the Forest

After I logged on, I quickly grabbed my things and bought some supplies. I left for the deep forest as quickly as I could. I only have few days to reach level 9 but I would like to try to get level 10 if possible.

That is why I'm in this current situation.

Third Person POV

"Boss! Let's just sell him to the slave traders, who cares if-."

Before the bandit could finish, his boss swung his sword and his head was separated from his body. The boss looked at the small group of men while he waved his bloody sword around.

"Does anyone else want to tell me what to do?! HUH?!!"

The scared men backed off, they wanted to convince their boss to get rid of the monster they had captured but it would seem that he couldn't let him go until he took out all of his anger.

The men looked behind their boss. A bloodied and beaten guy was tied up and left for dead. This guy was Roman!

Roman started to stir from his little nap. The boss saw this and walked right back up to him. Before any of his men could stop him, he kicked Roman right in the chest. Roman let out a grunt as a loud crack could be heard. Roman tried gasping for air.

"AHH!.. Ha... ah... Mhmmm..."

The boss bandit just laughed.

"HAHAHA! I'll torture you for a few more days you bastard! You were stupid enough to attack us alone! You even dare to kill my men!! The mayor must be desperate! HAHA!"

The boss bandit kept kicking Roman.

This boss was just a small bandit but due to an inflated ego, he assumed that Roman was here to hunt them down on orders from the mayor. In reality Roman had ran out of supplies after only a day in the forest. Roman had underestimated how tiring it would be for him and he ended up using most of his supplies within 24 hours. In the end, he thought that looting from the bandits would be the best option but he didn't think that this would happen.

The boss stopped and knelt down next to Roman. He held Roman's hand and brought the sword to his wrist. He then looks at the tired Roman and smiles.

"This hand of yours killed many of my men. I'll take it from you today as retribution."

Roman doesn't try to fight it and pull his hands away. Instead he mutters a few words, it wasn't loud enough for the boss to hear. The boss backhands Roman.

"Speak up! If you're going to beg, at least speak up!"

Roman looks up at him.

"I wasted.... two days here... you fuck..."

The boss felt his face turn red from anger. He wanted to hear Roman cry and plea but instead he used the moment to piss him off again.

"You little!"

He raises his sword and aimed at cutting off Roman's hand. He didn't see but Roman only smiled.

As the boss raised his sword, he suddenly lost feeling in his hand. The sword fell down with a thump. The boss began to shake uncontrollably.

"You... what did you do to me?!?!"

The boss backed away now. He suddenly felt very scared. He had suddenly lost a lot of strength when he was holding onto Roman but the moment he let go, he no longer felt like his body weakening.

Roman had activated his "Beelzebub" skill and taken some of the bosses' life force. He could feel his body being rejuvenize as well as he could see the xp drop.

"FINALLY..."

After being captured and tortured for two days, Roman could no longer train and level up. He felt like he was wasting time. So he waited and waited until the perfect moment to use his Beelzebub skill.

Roman destroyed the ropes tying him down. All the bandits shivered in fear. They all saw how easily Roman cut down their bandit brothers. The only reason they caught him was that they had the numbers. Even now they did but for some reason, they felt that that wouldn't matter this time around.

The boss was also frightened, the leader aura he had earlier was gone. He looked like a lost child that had saw something that he shouldn't have.

As the bandits froze in fear, Roman held out his hand and a sword appeared in his hand. When the bandits saw the sword, they all sudden felt like their world had ended. Some of them even pissed themselves the moment they saw it.

The sword had a beautiful hilt made out of white oak. The pommel (A/N: the circular part of the sword, usually on the bottom.) of the sword was crafted with gold and had a emerald imbedded in it. The actual blade it self wasn't a natural shape. It was a wavy blade that was 2.5 feet long.  (A/N: a flame-bladed sword if you want to google it.). The blade had a mesmerizing purple blue hue to it.

"Someone save me!!!"

It would seem that some of the bandits had lost their minds. One of them screamed for help and a chain reaction followed. All the bandits began to scramble. Roman just stood still, he pointed the purple sword pointed at the bandit boss.

"You wasted two days. I will take your life as retribution."

Roman utters those words back to the boss. He could feel his ego taking a hit. He tried to savior whatever dignity he had left as the boss bandit.

"You won't-."

But Roman wasn't going to let him speak. The surrounding area turned deadly silent as the sword made contact with the bandit bosses' neck. The bosses' life was taken before he could even pick up his dignity.

The purple blade now had a layer of bright red blood on it. The bandits let out a gasped and ran, not wanting to stick around anymore. Roman just sighs.

"You guys will have to make up for all the time I wasted."

Roman began hunting down all the bandits. He had no plans to leave any of the bandits alive.

First Person POV

"Ah, it feels good to finally clean myself again."

After I killed the last bandit, I decided to bath in the nearby river. I was drenched in blood and sweat. Most of it didn't even belong to me.

After settling in, I thought back to the last three days.

"I spent the first day leveling up and grinding. I overdid it and ended up using all of the supplies I had bought. If only I had paced myself, I probably wouldn't have been captured."

In most MMO games, if you're in combat, you wouldn't be able to log out until you either die or escape from the combat situation. When I was captured, I tried logging out but it wouldn't let me. It seems that the bandit boss was hostile towards me the last two days so I wasn't able to log out.

"Now I know at least. If a human NPC gets hostile then I probably won't be able to log. I should warn Anna."

As I clean up, I pull up my character attributes and my current stats.

I received the smithing skill and the crafting skill from master. After he showed me how to make the rings, I followed his lead and that was how I received the crafting skill. Another notable thing that happened was that my Vision skill went up. When I use it, I now get almost all the information available on the target. For example, I can see a small description of my own skills if I use Vision on it. Before it reached this level, only question marks would appear next to it. If I use it on monsters or other humans, it will show their exact level and their current health conditions too. I wonder what it will show me once it reaches level 10.

Once I cleaned myself off, I got out and then I took out the sword from my inventory. I placed my hand out and then the sword appeared. I use my Vision skill on it.

Bane Mortem (bind to player 'Romeo')

Rank: Unranked

Description: A mithril sword created by Master Ark and his partner Lucy. This sword was created with a near perfect technique, making it Master Ark's greatest creation. On top of all of that, the mithril sword was also fused with the bone fragments of an elder dragon, making this a one of two swords. The only other mythical sword with the bone fragments of a elder dragon belongs to Master Ark.

Primal Dragon Fear III- a skill obtained through the bone fragments of the elder dragon. When your enemies see this sword, they will feel a primal fear from deep within them. This will cause your enemies to be hit with a debuff.

Slow: When this debuff activates, your opponent will have their Stamina and Agility attributes reduces by 20%. This debuff will stay active until the fight ends or you decide to no longer pursue your opponent.

Fear: When this debuff activates, your opponents' skills will drop by one level or drop by one rank (depending on the skill.) This debuff will stay active until the fight ends or you decide to no longer pursue your opponent.

After reading the description of the sword, I just take a moment to enjoy the beauty of the sword. The white and purple compliments each other really well. The gold is also a nice touch. The only real thing that stands out is the emerald. All in all, it's a great looking sword but that's not all. The sword is strong too with that skill.

The sword is OP. I didn't even know that master did this until I logged back on and checked it out. He took the intuitive and now the sword turned into an evolved weapon!

Most evolved weapons have a name. These names aren't given to them by the creator but by the world itself. Creating an evolved weapon requires the weapon to be fused with a legendary item. The bone fragments would be considered legendary since they belonged to an elder dragon.

Evolved weapons aren't always created this way though. Most evolved weapons in the game 'DreamScape' comes from dungeons. The dungeon itself is considered to be a legendary item, so the evolved weapons usually drop in these dungeons.

The issue here is that all the dungeons are located outside the starter town. If a player sees me with this sword, they may question me. I wouldn't be surprised if they accused me of cheating.

I wouldn't mind but it's far to early in the game. I don't want to put a target on my back already. I put the sword back and take out the golden dagger. (A/N: dagger he got from killing Gerald in the earlier chapters.)

I could use this for now. The stats are pretty low, it's just super shiny and pretty to the eye. It shouldn't cause me to much trouble.

As I dry off, I hear a sound from behind me. I turn around and see the bushes shake a bit. A small goblin comes out, grunting and salivating at the mouth. It looked at me while swinging its club above it's head.

I just smile and flip my dagger around.

"Now that I'm free, I can continue to level up again."

(A/N: These chapters were just meant to introduce you to his new sword and his new stats. As well as the two Legacies he got earlier but that will have to wait. Next chapter will be the start of the world event.)
