1 Welcome to Cosmic Order.

Tao Lin didn't play any games for his entire life. So, no one complained when he walked up to the training machine.

Everyone in the sect was waiting to test their affinity in the cultivation unit. It took the entire town weeks to buy them. It was the only hope these people had at living past forty-five.

There was a plague that spread and carried the worst virus in history. If that wasn't enough, there was three wars going on, two continents floating towards the bottom of the sea, and a food shortage. The Earth had never been so destitute, and even the robots were looking for jobs.

However, there was some hope fifty years ago when The Alchemist created the first cultivation engine. He spent all the years inside of it, and apparently his hair was still red. He was the only man in the globe over the age of sixty. And he was the only hope that human kind had at surviving the coming of the end. And, so, The Alchemist became the first Dao title in Cosmic Order. A game that would kill you not to play.

Tao Lin hated video games, but his mom forced him to try. His dad had died working behind a rig that dug up the minerals for this machine. He imagined the blood on the console.

His mom was waving at him from the corner and cheering with a few of his friends. They were on a main island drifting in the Atlantic. New York was probably floating below them right now. And his mom was one of the prettiest ladies in the room. You wouldn't believe her age even if he told you. They had some pretty good cosmetics that dealt with the haze. A weird organism floating in all the air.

Tao Lin strapped himself down and placed his hands on the 33rd cultivation unit. It began blinking lights and testing his genes. His skin was constantly scanned from all sides of the machine, and his virtual avatar showed up in his spitting image. It only took him a gander to realize something was wrong. The machine started shaking and pulling him off into the sky.

When you were chosen by the machine, unfortunately, it would send you flying off towards the port. It was a safe place up there in the sky that the Alchemist had built to block off the radiation. His family and friends were wailing and screaming his name. Why did he have to be the first one to be chosen?

Tao shook in the machine trying to get the robotic hands from putting the probes in his body. They were used to tell where he sent the signals into his body, for when he was inside of the game. They figured out along time ago that you don't have to move your arm, for your body to think it moved.

Alas, he couldn't break out of the grip of the claws and felt himself pulled away. It was his first time in Cosmic Order, and he fell straight out of the sky before spiraling towards the ground. He flew like an arrow and after three minutes crash landed into a mountain. And it really hurt.

It was the year 2315, and the second registered user of Chaos Order had just landed. Now, it was just time for the rest to arrive. Unfortunately, the Alchemist could only create three hundred of them. It kind of reminded him of the Spartans. And he looked down at Tao curiously.

"You alright, boy?"

"Uhm, yeah I guess." Tao held out his hand and accepted a tug.

"Well, you're the first to make it here."

Tao nodded, and got up feeling a porous creature in his hand wiggling trying to crawl up his sleeve. He brushed it off his arm and looked around. On the right side of the vision he could see his stats.

Cultivation level: entry level.

Comments: Complete pile of turd.

Tao wagged his hand at the air trying to peel it off from the sky. The Alchemist just watched him and gave him some time to get used to it. It wasn't easy to get used to the first time you were in Cosmic Order. It felt like a real world and had a different gravity. The Alchemist struggled to get it just right, so your body was constantly challenged while you were in the machine. The visualization was influencing his body.

As early as the year 2010, they had discovered the effects of visualization, but their understanding was amplified when the fist vrmmorpgs were created. Men who laid in the machines were coming out bulky with ripped muscles. The Alchemist had read all of that stuff and more.

"So, how do you like my world, Tao. Isn't it lovely?"

Tao walked over to him and scratched his head. "Is it real," He seriously said.

"To your mind and your gut, it is. You should be arriving at The Fortress in a bit. However, let me show you something really quick." The alchemist clapped his hands. Three different creatures showed up in front of him. A dragon, a tiger, and a panda. It was obvious that Tao was supposed to choose one, but he didn't really know which one to choose. He was of Chinese descent, but he knew nothing of its history. He thought the dragon was just an overgrown garden snake.

"I choose the bear!" He pointed.

The alchemist laughed and clapped his hands. "Ah, you shall be the first Panda cultivator then. I'm so excited someone chose it! What luck!" He did what seemed like a convoluted spin into the air and drew out his sword.

"Well, I knight you the first Panda warrior, knight Tao. Please help me save the world."

The alchemist wasn't kidding about saving the world. It needed a lot of saving. And even though he was already at the Foundation Stage, against the modern war machines waiting to blow him out of the sky he stood no chance. The earth had long since developed to destroy itself many times over. Lasers, rail-guns, and space ships within space ships. He needed more than just himself to win.

Title: Panda Bumkin

Vim (Health): 100/100

Cultivation: Entry level

Comments: A colorful pile of turd.

"Ha, I'll see you when you arrive at base. For now, head towards the sun. You will see a city along the way. Go there and be careful on the way."

The alchemist left Tao there with a bunch of insects wiggling on the ground where he landed. He was not expecting such a greeting. He fumbled around with the gadgets on the arms, and finally a hologram of him popped up explaining his equipment, and how he could connect with the other cultivators. Unfortunately, Tao had no friends as of right now. He was the only one in this world, as the Alchemist left him to go check on the other pods he had sent out.

Tao Lin ran off dancing under the stars and pulled out a blade from his right side. It was the only weapon he had on his persons right now, and he could already tell it wasn't going to be easy to be able to get towards the city. An entire flock of monsters was running at him, and he could already see the saliva dripping out of their mouths.
