11 The System Likes Girls?

Tao earned a combination of four items from four chests. The first one he found was a pair of boots, while the other three were gadgets and a map. You could equip several gadgets, up to five, and they were very useful. It was his first time finding any beyond topaz rank. He immediately equipped them, and the boots.

[Devil's right boots]

[Cursory Lightning Gadget]

[Frost blossom Gadget]

However, it was finally time for the map. He opened the scroll and noticed a golden shine. And with his other hand he popped down the pills from the monsters. He was just a hair away from reaching Qi Condensation 5.

[Map of the Egyptian Dungeon]

Rank: Alexandrite

Danger level: Alexandrite

Comments: Alexandrite is the rank past Diamond. The system must love you.

And finally, he reached Qi 5 level before scrolling up the map. They were both a surprise. This was the box that Dormalla dropped, and he had no idea why a low-level beast would have such a precious scroll. Even the Alchemist only had one Diamond weapon, and the rest of his stuff was mostly Ruby. It made Tao Lin wonder what was up there, past Alexandrite. What, perhaps, could it be? Would it stop being stones on earth, and stones from asteroids? Regardless, he scrolled up the map, and got ready to exit the dungeon.

Tao Lin

Class: Panda Vagabond

Stage: Qi Condensation 5

Vim: 1400 / 3000

Attributes: Fire/ Wind

Slays: 536

Comments: You're getting stronger!

Tao Lin started heading towards the exit portal. Unfortunately, it was like putting his fate in the systems hands. Unless the systems changed its mind now, about the way it does things, he'd probably end up on the periphery of a new area. He was hoping that he'd still get to play with Diana. It wasn't easy playing by yourself. But if he didn't do it and tried to walk out. Well, then the monster who throw him in here might get a chance to sneak up on him. However, when he turned around there it was.

"You've encountered Big Steel Foot. Estimated level Qi-9"

When Tao Lin heard Qi-9, he immediately started running towards the portal. However, by the time he was about to jump in. A large stentorian voice was launched from the bottomless depths of the monster's belly.

"I can tell you about that map, Tao Lin. Since you beat old Darmalla I'll let you in on its secret."

Tao Lin, still afraid, turned his head slowly and saw a huge white paw on his shoulder. As far as he was concerned, it was probably a good idea to try and not the piss the big man off. For example, if he tried to run, well the big monster might immediately kill him. And since there was only ten levels of Qi Condensation, it seemed stupid to mess with the beast; the beast had big pearly half rotten teeth breathing into his face.

….

Diana had somehow made it out of the portal after crossing the bridge. She got a message that arrived in her visor.

"Congratulations on winning the Queen's Diamond ring. You've arrived in the Forest of Bernilla.

Proceed with caution, this is not a land someone at your level should be in. I've left you a gift."

Diana sighed and picked up the gift the system had given her. Luckily, for Diana only, the system had taken a liking to her. Tao Lin would later chalk it up to her being a girl. However, she denied it. She was more certain that the Shadow Giant's Queen put in a good word for her. Regardless, in the box was enough essence pills to get her to level three.

"Silver Essence Package acquired."

Diana Hong popped down the pills and slowly watched her log. Unfortunately, since Tao never played video games before he had never found this goodie buried in the hologram. But it told you how much experience you got from each pill. And Diana needed about 1000 more essence to level up. She quickly breached it and made it up to Qi Condensation 3. This time she didn't even need to ask Tao Lin for help. Now, however, she had a forest to worry about. And the worst part was she didn't know a thing about the Forest of Bernilla.

….

The Alchemist had all four of Dean's relatives go and scratched his head. There was something odd about this family. Three/ four of them had the organ fully developed, while the last one, Derek, was showing signs of it developing in his twenties.

Basically, if he did the math right, the chances of this happening were .7 percent. That could only mean one thing. These were ancestors of one of the greats. And since there was only two greats, one from China, and one from South America, he found it odd that the lineage in her was so pure. He had a slew of questions to ask her. And his first one would be to see her family tree.

Luckily, gene tests these days would allow people to see just about anything about a family's history. They had developed something similar to an extraction program for genes. And since the odds were .7, well it was almost statistically impossible she was someone else's descendant. However, he had a nagging feeling in his stomach that something in his deduction was missing. Regardless, he looked over at Derek, the kid he was flying with in his arms.

"You know you have a pretty awesome family."

"Ha, yeah, you'd say that. You're new to them."

"What does that mean, Derek?"

"Well, you'll see. Don't be fooled by my mom. She may be pretty and seem like a meek girl. However, you haven't seen her when she puts her mind on something. I'm never going to see her again."

"You know, Derek, I have a feeling your brother is the same way."

"Ha, you mean Tao? He's even worse. You better watch the scoreboard Alchemist."

The Alchemist just scratched his head. "There is no scoreboard..."
