10 An Evil Appetite.

Dormalla was this bad boss with over 20,000 Vim, and a slew of past crimes. He was known in the local town for swooping away children, and turning them into monsters, or serving them as meals. He would serve them at these lavish parties, and terrified guests of the town would have to watch him, and his friends devour their bones. For an advanced virtual world, this was just one of the frightening features.

But there was also a time when Dormalla had once eaten an child in front of his mom. Who, by the way, had to give up her son. And when she cried, he figured she would go well as a side with her tears. Tao Lin wanted nothing more than to destroy him. Without even knowing his crimes, or any of the carnages he orchestrated, he knew that slicing up the monster would be a good idea.

Dormalla's right hand was guarding a sacrificial alter, which had a golden chest on it. And Tao Lin immediately got to see what his damage was like. He brandished his tiger crane spear and tuned into his emotions.

The move Blue Crevice into the Void was his newest move that required all his heart. And as far as he was concerned, the monster in front of him deserved everything he was about to get. The monster with big coiling horns, and a walnut shaped body ran towards him. His entire body flared like a red fire cracker, and he swung his sword.

"Blue Crevice has been unleashed."

In the real world, obviously, there wouldn't be a system to tell you your attack was successful. However, there wasn't only that, but a damage window that he rarely checked. Dormala's right hand got hit by the attack without even seeing it coming. It lacerated his flesh and little sparks of blood dazzled the floor in this weird oozy display. He landed an attack worth 1600 damage. However, now he had to face the charge of a maddened monster. Moreover, he was insulted by the fact he was hit by a weakling. His face bar shot up, and the boss would soon arrive.

"Foolish Toad stealing wench, Die!"

Dormalla's right hand wasn't stupid. He charged at Tao Lin like a miniature plane. He was probably going around 200 miles an hour. That was a speed Tao couldn't approach as he barely passed the one-hundred mark. He blocked a huge knife with his spear and curved out a slew of fire like frisbees from his body. A dazzling amount of blood splashed on Tao's face. Then he felt a bad premonition in his gut.

If you were facing a boss, if their health got anywhere near a dangerous point, sometimes they'd unlock new abilities. They had more capacity to grow than many of the players. And Dormalla's right hand, after the last attack, had ascended to the 5th-Qi. Well, it didn't take long for Tao Lin to get smacked around. He went to and fro trying to dodge. It was a lot harder for players to break through.

Tao Lin would do anything to survive, literally anything. He kept thinking of how his mom would survive without him if the monster finished him off. His health was dropping, and he started to run away. Unfortunately, he eventually heard the roars of more monsters coming at him. Apparently, the boss had been alerted. Well, now he had to think of something to do. And it was terrifying for him! He finally cut Dormalla's health down to 500/8000 when the boss arrived.

"Your chances of dying are 82%."

Tao Lin screamed as all these monsters charged at him and checked his inventory for a way out of here. Their must be a way out! Dormalla, the big bad wolf, had even more health when he was disgraced. He now had 30,000/30,000 Vim.

….

Diana Hong spawned on top of a very narrow walkway surrounded by all these lines of ropes. It looked like something you'd see in a circus. There were little creatures on monocycles tossing knives at her. And they moved well on the rope too. As far as she was concerned, she had no choice but to sprint for her life. And she did as the little pedals of the monocycles were turned on the ropes. However, she tripped and stumbled against one of the taut lines before the monster fell to its death.

Diana flipped using her hand, and decided to test Stomp. The new ability she got from her ring. She jumped in the air, spun a few times, and landed on the ruby red walkway. She immediately stomped her foot down.

If you can't tell what was happening, well Diana was on a walkway that was stretched between two canyons. If she didn't make it to the other side, she'd fall about five million feet. As for the monsters, their wires were connected to the eastern and western canyons. So, all she had to really do was make them fall. It wasn't hard, per se, but the number of knives thrown at her as she plopped down on the rocks was something else.

"You've activated Stomp."

"Boom!"

Five monsters fell to their deaths as Diana saw a cooldown bar show up in the top of her vision. Now, she it was just a little bit easier to make it to the other side of the canyon. At least, she was hoping she could make it to the other side. But would a challenge for a diamond ring really be that easy?

….

Tao Lin pulled out the Yan Imperial Goblet out of his bag, and immediately had it self-destruct. A bubble of pure energy bloomed like a pretty flower, and all the monsters screamed wailing in agony.

Dormalla specifically had his hands over his eyes, and had a small shield in front of him trying to withstand the blast. He really didn't want to die. He had too many delicacies to taste in the world still. He wanted to eat chocolate covered toads, and a genuine baby magnus. He wanted to devour the souls of immortals and meet someone he could love. He wanted someone to like him for him once. So, what, he was a monster and desired some odd things. It's not like he was human! But when the goblet exploded, all that survived was his shield, and his bones. All off his men fell, and Tao Lin dropped down onto the floor. A chest spewed out of Dormalla's body like it was the spit of the system.

Now, Tao just had three chests to open. Hopefully, he'd get something good after destroying that goblet.

"You've just lost the Yan Imperial Goblet. The Yan's will officially start hunting you now."

Tao Lin sighed, and kicked away some bones. He walked up to Dormalla's shield as the coins in the room shot towards him like little missiles.
