<Transcendent>

As the night settled in, the moon rose while the sun set. The sky that should've been shrouded by darkness was rather being illuminated by the shiny stars. The moon itself was also illuminating the earth with its light.

The night was still early so almost everyone was awake. The markets were bustling with activities while children played on the streets.

A youth in his late teens was laying down on a grassy spot. He watched as the moon slowly making its way towards the east. It was like watching a turtle crossing the street, moving very slowly but would surely make it to the other side unless it was hit by a truck.

The youth had dark hair and fair skin. He was skinny but not the point where people would suspect him of being anorexic. He wore a Hawaiian shirt, khaki pants, and sandals. Though his clothes were casual type, it made him look like a ladykiller.

Whenever a female would pass by, they would take a look at him and walk away with a blush. The youth, whose name is Cosmo, didn't even realize that these ladies were getting charmed by him.

All of a sudden, a holographic commercial began to play. Only the government had access to these holographic commercials.

*BEEP*

*The new game <Transcendent> will be released tonight at ten thirty! Explore the world and become a Transcendent.*

*<Transcendent> will have the option to exchange gold for cash, but the other way around isn't possible!*

*Beep*

The announcement ended with a beep. The somewhat quiet streets were now filled with discussions about the new game. Some thought that the game was meant for poor people to earn money in Transcendent and escape that kind of lifestyle. While there were those who thought of extreme stuff like the government was baiting people to join the game and be trapped in there without a 'logout' button.

The one who was most definitely captivated by the announcement was Cosmo. His eyes shined with greed as he thought about all the money he could make. It wasn't that Cosmo was a greedy bastard that only cared about money.

Recently, Cosmo had been fired from his recent job due to the manager coming up with a random excuse. He said that Cosmo was a money grubber and he was scared that he would steal money. Though it was a trash excuse, no one could go against their boss. In fact, it was because of Cosmo that the store had been gaining a lot of customers.

The actual reason why Cosmo was fired had to do with the manager's wife. She had been deeply captivated by Cosmo's looks. The manager worried about losing his beautiful wife to some 18 years virgin. The person who had made the manager distressed himself didn't have an ounce of feelings for the woman. Why? It was because she had a flat ass.

Cosmo got up from the ground and patted his back causing the all the grass that was stuck on his back to fall. He looked at his bank account and saw that he had enough for a VR helmet.

Once he bought one was the electronic store, he went towards his apartment. The apartment wasn't too shabby and Cosmo himself liked this neighborhood. No one would bother him and if they did, all they would ask was for some sugar.

Taking off his clothes and putting on his pajamas, Cosmo set up the VR helmet. Once done, he checked the time, he saw that 2 minutes were left before the launch of the servers. During that one minute, Cosmo turned off the lights at his apartment, double checked if the doors and windows were locked, and he finally put on the helmet and turned it on.

Some random stuff popped up, but Cosmo clicked on <Transcendent> and the game launched. When the game launched, Cosmo was met with a character creation menu.

He had the option to edit his looks by 10%, but he didn't. For the race option, there were 4 types of races shown. The first one was human, the second was an elf, the third was a dwarf, and the last was a demihuman.

Cosmo would've chosen human but when he saw all the benefits the other races provided, he was conflicted. He didn't know which one to pick so he pressed on *Random*. The race he received was human instead of some hidden race.

For the class option, there were 5 types of classes. The five classes were warrior, mage, cleric, thief, and summer. Warrior class had two paths, tank and damage dealer. Mage class had one path, but some would think it had two paths, fire mage or ice mage. In actuality, any mage could learn both ice magic and fire magic. Cleric class had one path and that was being a healer. Similarly, rogue class had one path too. Lastly, summoner class had one path and that was taming monsters and summoning them. It wasn't similar to necromancy, which was considered as a hidden class.

Seeing these 5 classes, Cosmo immediately picked mage class. Why? Because you get to burn your enemies with fire magic or freeze them with ice magic.

Once he was done with that, Cosmo was shown his stats which were strength, defense, dexterity, constitution, and wisdom. Strength determined his physical power, constitution determined his hit points (hp), defense determined his defense powers against both physical and magical attacks, dexterity determined his reflexes and agility and etc..., and wisdom determined his mana points and such.

Rather than numbers being written next to the stats, two words were written there. *Not Determined* were the two words. Cosmo hit the button that said 'Evaluate' and white light began to cover his body. All of a sudden, the words that were written next to the stats disappeared and now 10s were written there instead. This meant that Cosmo was extremely strong and that he would be ahead of others by a large margin.

Once evaluating was over, Cosmo picked a name for his character. He named it Kosmos instead of writing it as Cosmo. This only showed how bad he was at coming up names for his character. Once he clicked done, he was logged into the server and the scene changed.
